Review of Zombie Prom

Zombie Prom (2006)

Creative and colorful short film with a lot of life
24 March 2007
I saw this hilarious and very original short film at the East Lansing Film Festival.

The creative film is very lively, making fun of the 50s and particularly film like Grease. What I loved so much about this movie is how perfectly choreographed everything was. The song and dance numbers were all very precise but even the moments when people were just walking about it seemed like they were dancing. And the sets and costumes were so perfect, it really set the mood. For a short film it really was expertly filmed, including the excellent comic book cuts, it was very inventive.

RuPaul was perfectly cast as the principal, Miss Strict. And the Toffee and Jonny made a hilarious couple. There were so many wonderful touches throughout the film, like the phone conversations and the TV shows and the bomb scares.

The songs were very catchy and well performed. At about 30 minutes the length is perfect, everything flowed nicely and it all fit together at the end. It would be great to see this made into a feature, but I don't know how it could be improved, it's already so enjoyable at this short length.

See this film then spread the word. It's hilarious with an "H".
