Depressing movie of a depressing reality: Tommy is unemployed and he needs money. He is still living at home and has still conflicts with his father. He sells his motorcycle and looks out to find a new job and private liberty. One day there has been an advertisement in the local paper. "Young? Flexible? Need Money? Join us!" Tommy takes contact to the given address and joins a so called "Drücker Kolonne", a group of young people who are forced to sell as much newspapers and magazines as they can. But this is only the beginning of hard live.

This film is very authentic: within the 1970s and the 1980s, this groups traveled from town to town in Germany, telling the people lies about the magazines and papers they are selling. The more new customers one get, the better he was for one day. But they got no chance to leave the group without violence. In the film, there had been only 4 professional actors, the rest had been amateurs, and they played as if they have known everything about the problems of those youngsters.
