Powerful!
19 February 2002
This is a powerful film with some great performances! In a post-Columbine world, this movie offers no easy solutions. Ultimately, that's the film's message. Solving youth violence isn't a matter of controlling guns or chastising children for not caring about society.

Ultimately this film is about how society has neglected to show kids that life has any meaning beyond making money. Facing such an existential crisis, what's a kid to do? This film shows what one such kid did. Why did he do it? Even the kid didn't know, and in our world, which is currently searching for solutions to youth violence, that's about as scary of a message as it gets.
