I really didn't like this movie, but I did admire the acting. I did not know ANYTHING about the movie when I hit the "play" button, not even who was in it. After about five minutes of the beginning car-ride sequence I got this itchy feeling that I knew all three of the actors... First, I recognized Benicio Del Toro, then I thought that might be Tobey McGuire... I had to look on the box to figure out Johnny Depp. As in other movies I have seen, Depp made himself something totally new. That is impressive to me.
Other than that, though, I didn't find much to like. It didn't make me feel anything, and only made me laugh a couple of times. One of which was when Del Toro was trying to get off the revolving carousel bar thing - I liked that.
I guess I will have to try the book - maybe a lot of things are funnier to imagine than to actually *see*.
