The Step by Step cast reunited at 90s Con on Sunday and remembered the late Suzanna Somers.
Patrick Duffy, Staci Keanan, Angela Watson, Christine Lakin, Christopher Castile, Jason Marsden and Sasha Mitchell honored their late co-star, who died in October of breast cancer.
“Suzanne gave the most beautiful, thoughtful gifts and she was a person of immense style and glamour in her real life, and I will never forget [that] and I still have them,” Keanan shared (via People).
Lakin said she always admired Somers growing up and watching reruns of Three’s Company.
“Growing up with her and watching her as a woman, as a businesswoman, as someone who was a huge star who had a bright light, who was so gorgeous, who was also so down to Earth and someone I just really admired,” Lakin said. “She was someone that made me think as a young female in Hollywood, you...

Exclusive: Veteran action director Dimitri Logothetis is gearing up to shoot his latest set of features, Kickboxer: Armageddon and Flying Shadow, in Mississippi and Malta.
Scripts for both were written prior to the start of the strikes, and each project is currently in pursuit of a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement, the goal being to kick off production for each in January.
Armageddon is the final chapter in a reboot trilogy based on the Kickboxer action franchise, which originally starred Jean-Claude Van Damme. The first film directed by Mark Disalle and David Worth, which debuted in 1989, introduced viewers to Kurt Sloane (Van Damme), who must learn the ancient kickboxing art of Muay Thai in order to avenge his brother. While later entries Kickboxer: Vengeance and Kickboxer: Retaliation would also feature the action star, he was absent through the second and fifth installments, with the focus segueing to Kurt’s younger brother,...

Sasha Mitchell may not have been an A-list celebrity in the 90s, but he had a lot of potential and was tapped as Hollywood’s next Jean-Claude Van Damme. That notion was easily championed by the fact that he was deemed a worthy replacement for Van Damme in the Kickboxer franchise. However, the actor seems to have fallen out of the spotlight over the years. Since his early years playing David Sloane, Sasha Mitchell has been involved in several B-rated projects. However, Sasha Mitchell will always be fondly remembered for his contribution to Hollywood’s martial arts genre. Here are six interesting

Last week, we posted a list of five forgotten actors we’d like to see make a comeback, and the reaction was so strong, we decided to post a bunch more! There’s a ton of forgotten actors from the 80s and 90s we’d love to have back on our screen, so let’s take a look at another group of them today.
Kelly Jo Minter
Let’s start with a horror favorite and a regular presence on the convention circuit, Kelly Jo Minter. Most folks will remember her from A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, The People Under the Stairs, and a slew of television series appearances. She was everywhere for a while in the 1980s and 1990s, then projects started becoming further and further apart, with nothing between 2008 and 2019, then nothing since. This actress is beloved by many people, and she should get a new part,...

Albert Pyun was a beloved B-movie filmmaker who brought audiences a total of 52 films as a director and who recently passed away leaving two upcoming films seemingly unfinished. Looking at his career, the man knew how to create interesting and entertaining films to say the least. His first release was the 1982 film The Sword and the Sorcerer and his newest was the 2018 film Death Heads: Brain Dead. The man seemed unstoppable, and he will be very missed. To celebrate the man and his work, here are 5 of our favorite films from the Pyuniverse.
The Sword and The Sorcerer (1982)
Pyun’s first film as a director, which he co-wrote with Tom Karnowski and John V. Stuckmeyer, The Sword and the Sorcerer is a medieval-esque epic film with magic, sword, babes, and a whole lot more. There’s a ton on here and the film goes in a few different directions, not...

David Weisman, an Academy Award nominee as producer of Kiss of the Spider Woman and an accomplished graphic artist, died on October 9 from complications from neuroinvasive West Nile virus. He died in Los Angeles at Cedars Sinai at age 77, according to his publicist.
Born in Binghamton, New York, in March 1942, Weisman attended Syracuse University’s School of Fine Arts in the early 1960’s. Inspired by the classic Italian film La Dolce Vita and armed with a gift for languages, Weisman dropped out of college to design film-posters in Rome. There he met Federico Fellini, for whom he created a poster for 8 1/2 (Otto e mezzo).
Returning to New York, he collaborated with Otto Preminger, who asked him to create the title sequence for Hurry Sundown. He then became Preminger’s assistant on the film. Weisman also designed the key art for The Boys in the Band, among many others.

One year after the events of Kickboxer: Vengeance, Kurt Sloan has vowed never to return to Thailand. But while he is preparing for an Mma title shot, he is drugged and wakes up in a Thai prison. His captors want him to face a colossus named Mongkut – in return, Sloan will get $2million dollars and his freedom. If he doesn’t fight, his wife will die. So Sloan has no other choice but to undergo his most rigorous training yet, under some very unexpected mentors, in order to take on this dreaded opponent.
Given the affable reception afforded the previous film, a loose remake of the 1989 original, it comes as no surprise that a sequel was in order.

Clip It: Each day, Jon Davis looks at the world of trailers, featurettes, and clips and puts it all in perspective. Prior to Kickboxer: Vengeance, there have been five Kickboxer movies. After Jean Claude Van Damme relinquished the titular role in the first Kickboxer, Sasha Mitchell took over the lead role for three movies. Mark Dascasos starred in Kickboxer 5: The Redemption in 1995. And that is the last movie in this Kickboxer universe. In 1989, the year the first Kickboxer came out, Lloyd Dobbler (Say Anything...) told Diane's dad that kickboxing was "the sport of the future." He was right. It's 2016, and mixed martial arts are more popular than they've ever been. And now we have a full-on Kickboxer reboot in Kickboxer: Vengeance. The movie looks fun. I expect to hear inspirational music and see lots of kicking. That's all I want out of a movie about kickboxing. If there's more than that,...

The latest news is that Martial Ats legend Jean Claude Van Damme is set to sign on for the remake of his old classic, Kickboxer. This movie is a classic with every Van Damme fan around the world, where he played “Kurt Sloane” and had to face the very intimidating Tong Po.
It’s said, Van Damme will this play the master, which was originally meant to be played by Tony Jaa. I am very happy to see him back in a movie like this, i feel playing the master will be a great role for him, lets just hope the choreography and action is done well.
The original Kickboxer, had 4 sequels with Sasha Mitchell taking the role played by Van Damme. The remake will feature Alain Moussi, Georges St-Pierre and Dave Bautista but i am sure more will be added before filming starts.

Did you guys know there are now six Kickboxer movies? The 'remake', Kickboxer: Vengeance is released in the UK today. But here's our look back at the first five films...
Kickboxer is my favourite Jean-Claude Van Damme film. It may not be his best film, but it is my favourite. It’s a film I used to watch a lot as a kid and one that’s a great deal of fun to revisit.
Kickboxing champion Eric Sloane (Dennis Alexio) is tired of thrashing the competition in the Us. The best fighters, he’s told, are competing in Thailand. Eric packs up his championship belt, his gloves, his gentleman’s moustache and corner-man/brother Kurt (Jean-Claude Van Damme) and heads over to Bangkok in hope of a decent bout of fisticuffs.

Earlier this month we brought you news on the plan by one of my favourite directors, Albert Pyun, to helm a sequel to his classic 80s Van Damme flick Cyborg. And now we have some more new on the film along with some new teaser art.

Director Albert Pyun dropped us a line with an update on his upcoming Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers (formerly Red Moon) and included a bit of teaser art for us to share. He's in the process of nailing down the project's lead actress and promises to reveal that info next week along with the full cast roster.
What he could tell us in the meantime is that "the film is very nasty and pure horror. My first all-out horror film." Music to the ears, right?
The screenplay is by Randall Fontana and Cynthia Curnan, and confirmed cast members thus far include Sasha Mitchell, Michael Pare, and Olivier Gruner. Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers mixes steam and cyberpunk with post-apocalyptic vampire horror. It will chronicle the genesis of the Slingers, who were guardian mercenaries in Cyborg. And it will explain why the characters in Cyborg were named after musical gear.
Director Albert Pyun dropped us a line with an update on Cyborg: Rise of the Slingers (formerly Red Moon) noting that he's leaving the sword and sorcery elements behind and instead will be adapting the loose prequel to his 1989 Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle Cyborg into the steampunk universe. He also included the film's revised artwork by Rob E. Brown.
Pyun expects to commence shooting November 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The screenplay is by Randall Fontana and Cynthia Curnan, and they're in talks with Kevin Sorbo as well as Roxy Gunn. If signed, the two will join Sasha Mitchell, Michael Pare, and Olivier Gruner. The lead female role has yet to be cast; they are looking at a couple of newcomers in Las Vegas to play the "meanest and most hard core radical action hero I've ever put on film," says Pyun.

Director Albert Pyun dropped us a line this week to show off the inked artwork (by Rob E. Brown) for his upcoming film Red Moon, which he describes as a post-apocalyptic fantasy with lots of violence and creatures. Read on for more details!
Pyun expects to wrap the film, co-written by Cynthia Curnan and Randall Fontana, by November 24th. It marks his third collaboration with Fontana. Curnan also produces. The shoot will take place entirely in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the film has been already picked up for North America release by Wrekin Hill in the late spring 2012.
Red Moon serves as a sequel of sorts to the filmmaker's Tales of an Ancient Empire. Pyun tells us, "For Red Moon I took the sword and sorcery world into a post-apocalyptic world, a similar world to my Cyborg. So its grittier and darker. The idea is it's 20 years after Tales ends,...

As a young teenager, I tuned into Step By Step every single week. And when the series — a 1990s version of The Brady Bunch — became syndicated, I watched the show every single day after I returned from school. But despite having dedicated countless hours of my life to the Lambert-Fosters, I must admit: With the exception of a fuzzy memory involving Carol’s beauty salon being burned down, I cannot recall one single episode of Step By Step.
Now, that’s not to say I don’t remember the Lambert-Fosters. Rather, I spent far too much time thinking about the fictional family.

In promotion of its festival run, we've nailed down the first bit of nifty character art by Rob E. Brown from Albert Pyun's latest film Tales of an Ancient Empire. Dig on the eye candy below!
The flick stars Michael Pare, Kevin Sorbo, Victoria Maurette, Melissa Ordway, Janelle Taylor, Cazzy Golomb, Sasha Mitchell, Olivier Gruner, Norbert Weisse, and Scott Paulin.
"Mainly, I know the film is unique as we've strived the past three years to create something different and a bit off the wall," says Pyun. "It's certainly an original and twisted take on the sword and sorcerer genre."
The next screenings for Tales of an Ancient Empire will be at Combat Con in Las Vegas - June 25 at 7:30 Pm at the Tuscany Hotel, then it begins rolling out across North America (with confirmed stops in Honolulu, Southern California, Detroit, San Francisco, Louisville - FrightNight Fest, and B...

Many things are happening for Albert Pyun's latest film Tales of an Ancient Empire, and they are all good. The flick has landed some new players, some new eye candy, and even some solid distro. Read on for the details.
In terms of casting Pyun dropped the following on us:
Michael Pare plays "Oda", father of Kevin Sorbo's character - Aedan - as well as Victoria Maurette's Kara (via Whitney Able's Xia - the vampire sorceress). He also fathers Princess Tanis (Melissa Ordway) and Rajan (Janelle Taylor) amongst others. The film is about how Oda's womanizing has created both the extreme good and evil in the world. And how parental abandonment colors each character's life and behavior. And Sorbo's character - Aedan - has a child with his half-human/half-vampire half-sister Kara - Hekate - played by newcomer Cazzy Golomb. Hekate narrates Tales and becomes one...

One of the most popular nighttime soaps in television history, Dallas ran for an impressive 13 seasons (14 if you count the five-episode mini-series as a season). But, the CBS TV show was seriously running out of gas by the time it ended in May of 1991. The final season ranked 63rd in the ratings, a far cry from its earlier seasons when it was the most-watched series on television.
Still, the final season has plenty of drama, with storylines centered around murder, kidnappings, blackmail, seductions, and scheming galore. The cast includes Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Ken Kercheval, Howard Keel, Sheree J. Wilson, George Kennedy, Cathy Podewell, Kimberly Foster, Sasha Mitchell, and Barbara Stock. Barbara Eden (Hagman's co-star from I Dream of Jeannie) even stops by to play a former girlfriend of Jr's who's out for revenge.

With work on the Expendables sequel already well under way, fans are soon to be hearing some casting news. While this past week has seen Bruce Willis confirmed, and Jean-Claude Van Damme rumored to be joining, it's got me thinking: what other actors would we like to see? The first film prided itself on bringing together a large group of action movie stars both old and new, but there are still plenty of older action stars left. Here's our list of the ones we want to see in Expendables 2.
Dwayne Johnson
You had Stone Cold Steve Austin in the first film, so why not throw The Rock in the sequel? Honestly though, I'm really surprised Johnson wasn't in the first film. Of all of the wrestlers turned actors, Johnson has actually shown talent for it, and produced some fun and entertaining performances. Now that he's done for the moment doing family movies,...

The Expendables may have boasted a stellar line-up of 80s action stars, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hope for even more of them in its sequel. Here are Ron’s suggestions…
The Expendables isn't out just yet as I write this, but I have no doubt that it's going to be a huge hit. Well, okay, maybe it won't be a huge hit, but like Sly Stallone's return to his Rambo roots, it's going to do really well.
I mean, it's basically every major action movie star (and some minor action movie stars) from the 80s all in the same film. However, there were some shameful omissions that can be added to the mix for The Expendables 2.
I'm not talking about high profile omissions, like Jean-Claude Van Damme or Steven Crotchkicker Seagal, though those guys would be awesome to have in The Expendables universe. I'm talking about...
