Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns fame has unveiled a new band: Blackbird Angels. The group’s debut album, Solsorte, arrives September 8th, and the lead single “Shut Up (You Know I Love You)” can be heard now.
Guns formed the band alongside Todd Kerns, who is best known for his work with Slash and Myles Kennedy. Given the musical lineage of Guns and Kerns, “Shut Up (You Know I Love You)” hits the expected sweet spot of melodic hard rock with a hint of ’80s glam metal. For fans of L.A. Guns, it’s required listening.
“Todd and I have wanted to make a record for about 10 years now and we finally did it and it’s everything I hoped for,” Guns said via a press announcement. “With the addition of [drummer] Adam Hamilton, it’s pure magic. For live performances, Johnny Martin will play bass and Sam Bam Koltun will play guitar.

When Canadian specialty station MuchMusic launched in August 1984, founders John Martin and Moses Znaimer had about two hours of planned content to fill six hours of airtime. Their strategy? Pack the place with notable faces, create a party atmosphere in the control room “stage,” and let inaugural VJs Christopher Ward and J.D. Roberts figure out the rest as they went along.
Thus, the iconic “Nation’s Music Station” was born.
It was a scrappy, wild atmosphere in which inexperienced but music-loving kids stepped in front of the cameras with free reign to experiment and play the videos they loved. There were no rules and even less structure, but it worked. At the height of its popularity, MuchMusic was the global destination for artists of all genres. And it was led by a diverse and history-making group of hosts who connected those artists with fans in a new way—through the legendary studios at 299 Queen St.

New Delhi, Nov 7 (Ians) About 50 per cent of Indian consumers are now open to buying EVs, albeit with a caveat, while 54 per cent of consumers are still concerned about Ev quality, a report showed on Monday, adding that Ev range anxiety now appears to be a misperception.
As per the report by CyberMedia Research (Cmr), the consumers are not shying away from EVs owing to ‘Ev range anxiety’ or ‘upfront costs’, or ‘limited Ev charging infrastructure’.
“For long, limited Ev charging infrastructure and range anxiety have been construed as barriers for Ev adoption. However, automotive OEMs have already designed EVs with a sufficient range of up to 200 kms or more,” said John Martin, analyst, smart mobility practice, Cmr.
“The potential consumer for EVs is more concerned by the overall Ev quality. Ev quality includes not just external build quality but refers to the overall quality of internal components used – including battery and others,...

Grimmfest have today announced the launch of their Grimmfest Easter Edition, a new annual event taking place over the Easter Weekend, and complimenting the long-established festival in October.
Easter is traditionally a time for rebirth, renewal, resurrection. But as the Pandemic continues to rage, and the world remains on lockdown for the foreseeable future, it is also a time for rethinking. Thus, while the Grimmfest team had hoped to be hosting a ‘live’ Easter event, instead, the Grimmfest Easter Edition will be taking place online, and will build on the success of Grimmfest 2020 online experience.
The festival will open on Thursday April 1st with our preview night that will feature the UK premiere of Kourosh Ahari’s surreal and sulphurous Iranian American haunted hotel horror The Night, which has already earned deserved comparisons to Kubrick’s The Shining, alongside the UK premiere of Lluis Danes’ visually ravishing reimagining of the...

"Find a place to hide, and stay there." Lionsgate has released a trailer for a horror thriller titled Alone, not to be confused with any of the other films also titled Alone, including the one this year (about a kidnapping). This Alone is another pandemic virus thriller mixed with zombie horror. But the zombies in this are called "Screamers". Aidan barricades himself inside his apartment and rations his food. His complex is overrun by infected Screamers, and with the world falling apart into chaos, he is left completely alone fighting for his life. Tyler Posey stars as Aidan, but the full cast includes Donald Sutherland, Robert Ri'chard, Eric Etebari, and Summer Spiro. So he's not entirely alone in this. Doesn't look like anything really worth it. Here's the official US trailer (+ poster) for Johnny Martin's Alone, direct from YouTube: When an outbreak hits, Aidan (Tyler Posey) barricades himself...

This is the first trailer released for a new haunted house horror thriller called Delirium. It doesn't look like a great horror movie, but it does look like it might be fun to watch. The story follows a group of teens who dare one of their friends to walk up to the porch of a legendary haunted house and he ends up disappearing. So his friends decide to go on in after him, and as you'll see, terror awaits them.
What I like about this is that this is stuff my brothers, friends, and I would do all the time when we were growing up! It was always fun exploring abanded old building and houses that we thought were haunted! Here's the synopsis:

"I didn't have a good feeling about this..." Gravitas Ventures has debuted the first official trailer for a horror thriller titled Delirium, which first premiered last year but is just getting a release in early 2018. This is actually one of the first feature films made by former stuntman and second unit director Johnny Martin, who later went on to direct Vengeance: A Love Story with Nicolas Cage, and Hangman with Al Pacino, both also released this year (before this film). Delirium is about a group of teens who dare a classmate to reach the porch of a legendary old house, but he never comes back. So they gear up and go in themselves to get him. Starring Mike C. Manning, Griffin Freeman, August Roads, Ryan Pinkston, Seth Austin, and Elena Sanchez. This looks like a very wild, testosterone-filled haunted house horror flick. Tread carefully. "We're gunna find this guy." A trailer has arrived for a new crime thriller titled Hangman, which is about detectives hunting a serial killer, but apparently it even has some similarities to Paranormal Activity. Say what? From director Johnny Martin (of this year's Vengeance: A Love Story) the crime thriller stars Al Pacino as a homicide detective who teams up with a criminal profiler to catch a serial killer whose crimes are inspired by the children's game Hangman. Also starring Karl Urban, Brittany Snow, Sarah Shahi, and Joe Anderson. From the footage in this trailer, this seems closer to "Mindhunter" or "True Detective" or even The Snowman than most crime dramas, but maybe there's a big twist in it. Might be worth a look. Here's the first full-length trailer (+ poster) for Johnny Martin's Hangman, direct from YouTube: Decorated homicide detective Ray Archer (Al Pacino) and his partner, criminal profiler Will Ruiney,...

Nicolas Cage stars in a new revenge thriller called Vengeance: A Love Story, which is based on 2003 novel Rape: A Love Story, by author Joyce Carol Oates. Today we get a look at the new trailer and poster for the film.
Here is the synopsis:
On the Fourth of July, single mother Teena is brutally assaulted by a local gang in front of her 12-year-old daughter Bethie. Even though Bethie is able to identify the attackers, the defense hires a local hot-shot defense attorney who manipulates the law to their advantage. When the criminals are set free, Gulf War veteran and detective John Dromoor (Nicolas Cage) is dismayed by the lack of justice and plots revenge against the men on Teena’s behalf.
This movie, in many ways, feels very similar to the Bruce Willis starring Death Wish. A man seeking justice on his own terms after the justice system fails him.

Just when I think I'm done with Nicolas Cage and his direct-to-video looking projects, one comes along that looks like it might be ok. The latest: Vengeance: A Love Story.
Based on a novel by award winning author Joyce Carol Oates, Cage stars as a police officer and gulf war veteran who, when the law fails a single mother and her daughter, takes vengeance into his own hands.
I know, it sounds so totally generic and more than a little like Man on Fire, but Cage looks a little better than usual in this one plus there's the added bonus of Don Johnson.
Directed by stuntman-turned-director Johnny Martin, I'm hoping for some good action sequences but I'd settle for a solid thriller with a performance from Cage that isn't laughable. Anything more would be [Continued ...]...

"Leave us alone!" FilmRise has debuted an official trailer for a new action film titled Vengeance: A Love Story, adapted from the Joyce Carol Oates novel titled Rape: A Love Story. The story is about a local police officer who goes for vengeance when a local gang rapes a woman. The criminals find a way to walk away free thanks to a hot shot lawyer, and so the detective takes matters into his own hands. Nicolas Cage stars as John Dromoor, with a cast including Anna Hutchison, Talitha Bateman, Deborah Kara Unger, Don Johnson, Joshua Mikel, Rocco Nugent, Joe Ochterbeck, Carter Burch, and Charlene Tilton. This looks like a generic vengeance movie, especially with Nicolas Cage, but who knows. It's also interesting they removed the word "rape" from any description of this film, but it's definitely a major part of the plot. Here's the first trailer (+ new poster) for Johnny Martin...

Another random Nicolas Cage movie has arrived, though this time around it has some real literary flavor. “Vengeance: A Love Story” is based on the provocatively titled novel “Rape: A Love Story” by Joyce Carol Oates. But the cinematic translation winds up playing more or less like what you’d expect from latter day Cage.
Originally slated to direct, the actor passed the duties onto longtime second unit and stunt coordinator Johnny Martin for this story about a detective who takes matters into his own hands when the perpetrators of a vicious attack on a mother and her daughter are set free.

In recent years, Al Pacino has branched out into a number of roles that could be best describe as….questionable. However, it seems as if he’s (hopefully) going back to something a little better quality wise for the upcoming film, “Hangman.” Variety is reporting that Pacino is set to star in the film as a decorated homicide detective investigating a series of murders.

Johnny Martin is directing from a script by John Mankiewicz (“House of Cards”), who adapted Joyce Carol Oates‘ award-winning 2003 novel “Rape: A Love Story.” Cage was previously attached to direct, but a scheduling conflict forced the actor to hand the reins to Martin, according to insiders. Martin Garrix has been dropping his new song, “Don’t Crack Under Pressure,” in a lot of his shows lately, and has been doing so for quite a while now. What we hadn’t heard yet, however, was the vocal version, which is apparently titled “Now That I’ve Found You.”
Boasting John Martin on singing duties, the young producer debuted the song this weekend at Edc Mexico, and some savvy fans caught a quick video clip of it. It’s not much, but Martin’s vocals definitely sound solid and the track itself is classic Garrix and should be a big hit when he undoubtedly releases it during festival season.
We’ll keep you posted when “Now That I’ve Found You” gets an official release, but in the meantime, check out the instrumental version of the song above and then watch Tweet below for a brief preview of John Martin’s vocals.

2012 was a banner year for former Guns N Roses drummer Steven Adler: along with his former bandmates, in April he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he later formed a new self-titled hard rock band (he had previously released two EPs with the band Adler's Appetite). Adler released their first album Back from the Dead last fall, which featured scorching guitar contributions from John 5 (Rob Zombie's axe-man and Lords of Salem composer) and Adler's Gnr compadre, the legendary Slash. We caught up with Steven and his team (vocalist Jacob Bunton, guitarist Lonny Paul and bassist Johnny Martin) to talk about the formation of the band and the album, their dedication to pure rock 'n' roll, and the strong connection between rock, metal and horror – including the band's own musical link to the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. We cover all that and more in this clip!
