Top Young Filmmakers By Decade

Four per decade and while each person may be listed collaborating directors count as one filmmaker because they work together. This list is made up of the filmmakers who were, at the time, doing the most to push the art form in a new direction upon the decade of their debut and are not necessarily the filmmakers who had the best careers from that decade.
