My Favorite Photoplays

by Perception_de_Ambiguity | created - 29 Aug 2013 | updated - 3 weeks ago | Public

Started in 2010 this list of films (and in a number of cases works kindred to this medium) are favorites that I have accumulated since then. As opposed to having them ranked according to some notions of preference any given new favorite is added to the top of the list, hence it starts with most recent additions and goes back in time. This also makes it function as a sort of chronicle of my adventures in film that may or may not exhibit some personal evolution or at least reflect some changes of interests, preoccupations, tastes, etc. over the years. It mostly comprises of first-time viewings, but also features rewatches in cases where I hadn't held the film in high personal regard before but which upon rewatch made a big impression on me. Those rewatches I have marked with a "°" in the comments.

Within "[ ]" I added "personalized genre descriptions".
