What a riot of an episode!

Warning: Spoilers
Lucy, Lucy, Lucy! Shaking my head....

Just when I thought we were making a bit of headway on the surface, she falls for the biggest trap of them all and even manages to coax Maximus into believing that it's safe in Vault 4. After his injury on the surface, he is reluctant to believe that there is anything safe about the Vault and that they shouldn't be wasting valuable time. But no sooner than the he explores the amenities of the Vault has he bought into the idea that comfort there supersedes the madness and chaos of the game up above. As Lucy tries to assimilate herself into the culture of Vault 4, she soon realizes nothing is what it seems and it is in fact a trap. The dwellers there are all under the leadership of the one that started it all.

What I enjoyed about this episode too was that we see on the other side of the game the Ghoul in a past life where he is trying to make sense of Vaultech and persuade his wife to consider another career, which causes tension in their household. Just before the flashbacks lead us to an astonishing discovery, he is captured by the sheriffs who run the "Govermint" and learns more about his actual target. And at the same time, interestingly enough, as he is being introduced to her in the past. It all is a huge TRAP! No it'll be interesting to see who's left standing and who won't make it beyond the walls they're incapacitated in.

Perfect Balance Between Past and Present

This is one of those slow burn episodes that gets progressively better and more intriguing as it goes along. The beginning seems pretty dry but gives a fantastic look into the past about life before the nuclear events. It juxtapositioned near perfectly as the episode got to the second half and started to slowly unveil that not everything is as it seems (avoiding spoilers). I'd rate this higher, but it is quite a long episode with a lot of exposition and narrative but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It seemed necessary to develop the story as the characters split their ways but did a fantastic job of showing that there are certain elements and characters that tie everyone together. 4/5 stars.
