Hawk
The land holds many secrets, and one boy will learn them all. When Rowan is taken away from the civilized world, by his grandfather Gawain, his lessons in the wild begin. They exist together out in the wilderness for years, all the time Gawain teaching his grandson how to survive and the ways of the Antlered God. Rowan leans how to trap rabbits and deer, heal wounds, access the underworld as well as the lay of the land. Gawain dedicates his life to training Rowan all of these skills as he knows his day is coming and Rowan will soon be alone in this harsh world. Then without explanation Gawain mysteriously disappears and young Rowan goes searching for his missing Grandfather. When he discovers Gawain Rowan's heart brakes and he descends into hate and darkness with his grief. The effect of his anger shatters the balance of nature around him. As a result of this Rowan finds another world beneath our own. In that shadowy underworld of old gods and wild hunts, the divide between man and beast becomes uncertain and the fairy-tales of his childhood spring to life and take him on a journey of redemption that will take him the rest of his life. With only the guidance of a hunting hawk, Rowan the man must make amends for his crime against nature, and choose between what is real, and what is fantasy.
