Behind the Scenes with the Quay Brothers
Documents the making of the film that the Quay Brothers made at, and on the subject of, The Mutter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the first film that the international-known filmmakers have made in the U.S. That film, "Through The Weeping Glass (On the Consolations of Life Everylasting) [Limbos & Afterbreezes in the Mütter Museum]"–features a dozen set-pieces on various aspects of the collection of rare medical books, instruments and anomalies housed in a Victorian setting. The resulting film relies on a fierce indomitable visual language, as well as masterful use of music, that is one of the hallmarks of the Quay Brothers work.
This documentary captions, 'on the fly', the creative collaboration, between the Quays and the crew, in intimate detail. Edward Waisnis, in his role as Producer of the Quay Brothers film, was given exclusive, unparalleled and unfettered access to capture the filmmaking process. This is truly a rare glimpse of acknowledged filmmaking masters at work.
