Avatar (2009)
Great Plot, Visually Stunning!
I was not sure I would like this film. I really did not like Titanic, mainly because it's not my kind of film, so I wasn't sure if I'd like Avatar. I went to see it because people were saying that it had the better CGI than any other film, and it had five-star reviews all over the papers.
I loved it! The film was action packed from start to finish! I do admit that only the very smart will get the plot at first, but everyone will have it by at least the middle. I hardly even noticed that the film was almost three hours!
The planet Pandora is visually stunning. The plants are incredible, they light up, they move, some near the beginning even shrink! The Nawis, the natives to Pandora, are very life-like, I never even knew that they were computer generated!
The action scenes (not giving any spoilers) are just fantastic! Everything is so realistic, the planes are realistic, the floating mountains are realistic, and the sound literally blows you away.
The actors are very good, especially Sigourney Weaver. But if you have a young child, do not allow them to watch this. There is a minor bit of swearing, tons of blood violence and very loud sound. Overall, the film is just fantastic! You have to see this movie, as it is by far the most stunning film of the decade!
Pushing Daisies: Kerplunk (2009)
What a brilliant way to end the series!
Yes, I am English, therefore, I have been able to watch the last 3 episodes of the series. This one is the last ever episode of Pushing Daisies. I must say, it was a brilliant way to end. To be honest, I thought that Lily or Vivian could of been the murder victim, but I read it wrong. One half of the Aquadolls (The Darling Mermaid Darlings' arch rivals) is killed, after being (SPOILER!)eaten alive by a shark during a swimming act. After Ned revives her, she exclaims that it could of been Lily or Vivian. Chuck gets mad, and makes Ned touch her.
The Darling Mermaid Darlings come out of retirement, as they agreed to perform their acts for pay. But they have to go to Europe. As Ned is now their manager, he agrees for them. Chuck gets really upset, and tries to sabotage their act, so they can't perform.
I won't tell you any more except for this - there is a happy ending for almost everyone. Who doesn't have a happy ending? You'll have to watch...
Life of Riley (2009)
Real Good Show!
I have been watching this show for a long time, and have laughed during every single one. I now cannot wait for the next one.
I have absolutely no idea why anyone thinks this is bad show. Episode 4 is very funny, on my opinion. The start was only a little funny, which may have put people off, but it shouldn't have, as the rest of the show is funny, amusing and good! It's really nice to have a fresh new sitcom on the screens, and it's child-friendly (no swearing etc). This show will be finishing soon, so you might as well give it a good ending. I know that people like sitcoms, I've seen many people watch episodes of 'My Family' and 'Ther Vicar of Dibley'. It's just like that, but with a different plot, cast and crew. I beg of you to watch this. It is a really funny show every Thursday, 8pm on BBC1.
