Laysa Laysa (2003)
7/10
Good family entertainer
5 January 2008
A remake of the Malayalam movie Summer In Bethlehem (which was a blockbuster) comes in a package of comedy, sentiment and family entertainment. Music by Harris Jayaraj is a reason enough to watch the movie. "Laysa Laysa" song is a great melody which sticks to your heart. Shaam and Trisha did a good job on the screen helped by a special appearance of Madavan.

Even though the story is run-of-the-mill, screenplay is spun with a fun package which makes the film worth watching. The location (Ooty) is a nice selection and it helps the film. Final Verdict, must see once! (3.5/5)

Locations "great", story "ok".

Warning: Spoilers
A typical Tamil mas ala movie with nothing new either in story or screenplay. Nayanthara has done a good job. The only plus point in the film COCHIN. You get to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Gods own country. The story is weak, so is characterization and narration. Suryah should work on his dialog delivery. Viveks comedy is "good". Yuvan Shankar Raja has done his best in music.

What else?.....if u are bored on a Sunday evening and you are completely jobless then i would recommend you to watch this movie at home just for time-pass.

'Kalvanin Kadhali' is strictly for Suryah fans. Others can go with their sleeping mattress to the theater.
