Aside from the amazing cast, it also features cameos from other amazing starts like Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn 99). This show tackles a wide range of issues from dealing with depression/anxiety, the emotional toll of coming out, what it takes to be a single parent, and so much more. It also gracefully addresses many of the social issues that are happening today in a way that educates instead of alienates. I have watched and re-watched this series again and again. Even though it is based on a Cuban American family and is giving amazing representation to such a historically underrepresented demographic, you do not need to have Latinx heritage to feel seen by these characters. It is just a funny, heartwarming show that deserves all the recognition in the world. The main cast: Justina Muchado, Rita Moreno, Isabella Gomez, and Marcel Ruiz make a believable and relatable family that I genuinely care for more and more with every episode. I can't wait to see what this show does next and if you've made it this far, you should give it a shot!
