Pather Panchali
(1955)
Story, Plot, Cinematography, EVERYTHING: 10/10!
14 May 2021
Pather Panchali is and will be my favourite film. It's beauty lies in the aesthetic scenaries of village life. The cinematography is so brilliant!
Thank you Satyajit Ray Sir. Thank you for making a film that is brilliant in itself.

Names Unknown
(2014)
Worthy of an Oscar!
9 January 2021
Perariyathavar or Names Unknown in English is a Malayalam film that won two National Film Awards in 2014. Director Bijukumar Damodaran made a brilliant movie showcasing most of the social issues that occur in societies, while simultaneously showing a beautiful relationship between a father and his son. The plot is great and keeps you hooked. The cinematography is great. The film is dark. Certain scenes are shocking and painful to look at. But that's the reality the underprivileged are facing.
The casts are perfect and deserve much praise. Suraj Venjaramoodu gave one of his career's best performances and won a National Film Award for Best Actor. Govardhan B.K as Suraj's son too gave a brilliant performance. His innocent face coupled with certain scenes brought tears.
There are certain scenes where the director showed the comparison of two realities. The scene where the buffaloes are tied together and are taken to someplace in an auto, and behind this auto there's another auto where labourers are going to earn their livelihood. This scene is my favourite scene of this movie among others. This film is one of the best movies I've watched so far. Malayalam industry is really producing certain gems that are worthy of winning an Oscar.

Mirzapur
(2018– )
S1 was much much better than S2
24 October 2020
Decreased my rating from 9 to 7.
"Those who have left us are not the ones who suffer. The suffering is for those who are left behind."
Just like the above "serious and no energy level" quote from the Mirzapur Season 2, this season has been in such state throughout the end. The episodes seems to be stretched to such an extent that there the curve decreased this season. This type of energy level should have been in Season 1 and instead the energy level of Season 1 should have been in Season 2. Giving 8+ hours to a show which was earlier binge-worthy, now it is not at all worthy for the title 'One-of-the-best-web-series-from-India'.
The inclusion of so many new characters may be the problem which took the focus from the main theme of revenge. Talking about the revenge, you all will laugh at one of the most important episode "The last episode or Episode 10 or King of Mirzapur". Didn't thought this is how Ali Fazal (Guddu Bhaiya) would avenge his brother and his girlfriend. Very mediocre avenge or revenge.
But the 1st episode was good. No doubt.
Dviyendu Sharma was mediocre this time. Ali Fazal (Guddu Bhaiya), Shweta Tripathi (Golu Gupta), Shaji Chaudhary (Maqbool), Asif Khan (Babar), Rasika Dugal (Beena Tripathi) and Harshita Gaur (Dimpy Pandit) acted brilliantly. Pankaj Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya) was as usual good.
The cinematography is excellent. The plot is less than mediocre. Not that engaging as was in previous season. TOO MUCH POLITICAL!
But due to the cliffhanger, I am excited for Season 3 as now the main revenge will begin.

Hellaro
(2019)
A must watch!
20 October 2020
Watched with subtitles "on", Hellaro is a movie worth watching not only for its message but for showcasing the different shades of a woman. The garba dance sequences are long but I think its worth it. It can be felt that all the anger, frustrations, daily struggles gets vaporised when you dance with your spirits high. The movie touched on so many important topics. But since this a no-spoiler review, I'll avoid talking about those.
The cinematography is brilliant. The casts are good and justified their respective roles. Actor Shraddha Dangar (Manjhri) acted brilliantly. Also, Jayesh More (Mulji) gave an excellent performance.
The story is engaging and sometimes you can get emotional. The sudden end to the movie created a discussion in my mind and that moment stayed with me for many hours. Director Abhishek Shah delivered a masterpiece.
Sic_final_verdict: Brilliant movie. Deserves more appreciation, A must watch!

Wrong Side Raju
(2016)
Worth the time!
20 October 2020
Produced by Anurag Kashyap, Wrong Side Raju is a suspense movie. The story is good. The casts are good. Actor Pratik Gandhi (Raju) acted brilliantly. The first half of the movie is brilliant and more engaging than the second half. The songs are good too. Director Mikhil Musale delivered a good movie with an engaging plot. The cinematography is good.
However, the thriller intensity is not that high.
Sic_final_verdict: Engaging. A mediocre suspense movie. Worth the time!

Dhh
(2017)
Worth the time!
18 October 2020
Dhh is a simple yet impactful movie. Related to school life, Dhh is filled with humour and the experience some student goes through. For me the most important role is played by 'Birbal' besides Archan Trivedi (Grandfather) who acted brilliantly. The trio Kahaan (Gungun), Karan Patel (Kapil) and Kuldeep Sodha (Bajrang) were good in their respective roles. The movie was entertaining and motivating. It sometimes takes you back to your school days. Naseeruddin Shah can not be ignored. Though his presence was for a few moments but he has a deep impact in this movie. Kudos to director Manish Saini for making such simple, beautiful yet impactful movie.
From a kid point-of-view, this movie is good and educational.
Sic_final_verdict: Engaging. Entertaining. A family-friendly movie. Worth the time!

Bulbul Can Sing
(2018)
It gets deep everytime I watch!
18 September 2020
Bulbul Can Sing is a beautiful and tragic tale of a girl named 'Bulbul'. This movie is directed by Rima Das (also the director of internationally acclaimed "Village Rockstars"). The movie is simple yet beautiful. The cinematography is marvellous. The beautiful scenes of a village of Assam coupled with the shots of loneliness is what I think to be a master-shot to capture the very essence and importance of that scene. The impact of social issues in a village is adeptly addressed and the emotionality of that scene is painful to watch. Arnali Das (Bulbul) acted brilliantly.
She controls the plot beautifully and, also hats off to Manoranjan Das (Suman) and his brilliant acting to bring out the social issues facing by certain sections of men. The impact created by Bonita Thakuriya is deep. Just Brilliant!
Sic_final_verdict: Experience the beautiful yet tragic tale of an Assamese girl. Watch it now. It's worth it.

Mulan
(2020)
WASTE! WASTE! WASTE!
6 September 2020
Released straight to Disney+, Mulan is an action movie. Despite few stunning visuals, the movie failed to create any impact on our mind. The movie lacks soul. Even watching from a kid point-of-view, the movie is disappointing with evident lack of character development. Sometimes the film is rushed too much. Speaking about the action sequences, the fights are mediocre and the lead character Yifei Liu can be seen only jumping from one roof to another throughout the whole movie. Talking about the other characters, Donnie Yen (Commander Tung) is the only one who really connected with his role.
Sic_final_verdict: Disappointed! Waste of time! Watch the animated version instead! Sic_score: 3.1⭐/10

Dil Bechara
(2020)
I respect SSR.. But Dil Bechara doesn't deserve it!
28 July 2020
R.I. P Sushant Sir. Your Sonchiriya and Chchichore, M.S. Dhoni is great! I will remember through these great movies. But, Dil Bechara is not that good. These people didn't care for you earlier. Chchichore, Sonchiriya deserved 9+ ratings. But, I am sorry though this is the Indian Version of Fault in Our Stars, but, unfortunately it failed to generate those emotions which I felt while watching FIOS. Guys, give Chichore, Sonchiriya 9+ ratings where he deserved it. This is my humble request.

One of the best movies of 2020
5 July 2020
You will not now where the story is headed until the climax. That's the beauty! Based on real incidents (you will know why I've said this), you cannot describe this movie as a love story but, rather a... (no spoilers). Give it a watch guys and have patience because the 1st hour will make you little bore but the next hour is where the beauty of this movie resides.

Fails to deliver pyschological thriller!
21 June 2020
Except for a few scenes, the movie fails to deliver or generate pyschological thrill. Also, the 1st one hour is boring and only on the next hour, the movie becomes a little gripping. But failed miserably at the climax.
My score:- 3/10

Tv serial got Movie-named! Waste!
28 October 2019
Waste of my time and money. Looks like the script of Tv serials! Though Akshay Sir tried to balance the movie but failed because of the crap Script. Even Retiesh Deshmukh didn't make me laugh this time. Utterly disappointed. Please DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
