Perfect Harmony (2022)
Wow, James Denton sings really well!
It's too bad that the new IMDB format doesn't show all the things that their format used to show a couple years ago, because THEN, it would've been prominently displayed that James and Sherri Saum sang the songs.
As previously stated in the other reviews, this movie doesn't compleatly follow the cut-and-dry Hallmark movie format, although the "1st kiss within the last 4 min. Of the movie" is there, the minor misunderstanding between the co-stars that's resolved with 15-20 minutes left is there, etcetera.
The karaoke mini-drama was really well-played, though the key in which Sherri started out singing was slightly cringy, but fit in well with her character's unease at soloing the "dealer's choice" song.
The only downplay I can think of is that the wedding song, which the co-stars never rehearsed, was weird in that Sherri, whose character isn't a musician, sang harmony on a song she'd never heard before (instead of James' character)...
Well-paced, all early-in-the-show questions were answered in a timely manner, there wasn't any nasty drama. James Denton's my favourite Hallmark actor (male)!
I hope they restart "Good Witch" with him in it!
One Winter Proposal (2019)
THE TITLE Made Its Plot Inevitably Predictable, But I Loved It Anyway!
OF COURSE the movie ended with Ben's proposal, but I loved what let up to it and how they wound around a bit before it finally happened- and A Thousand Years playing over it made it better.
I adored Ethan; he was cute, resourceful, multi-talented (if there's another sequel, I hope he's in it more!). Syndra's a real bonus: a powerful Asian woman IN CHARGE, and quite beautiful.
I'm also happy that Megan and Sean get back together (pretty obvious THAT was going to happen, but...). And all the additional minor sub-plots were cute and fun. Anyone who thought the movie was boring must not "live" on the Hallmark Channel, and/or isn't THAT big of a fan of romantic comedies.
On the downside, why ccouldn't any of these stars really snowboard very well? They COULD ride, but nobody was any better than an average intermediate. Also, what resort was used as the background, and it's sad that none of the extras seem to know anything about the Skier's Responsibility Code because everybody there was riding pretty dangerously, including Megan and Sean. Really, running into stationary objects in the middle of a run?
