Watchmen (2019)
Hated it, so will you.
Regardless of whether or not you have read the "graphic novel" or have seen the movie, regardless if you are American or not, regardless of what color your skin is, left, right, or inside-out, I can pretty much guarantee the pilot will put a really bad taste in your mouth within the first couple minutes, and it will stay there rotting and just getting more putrified til the end, leaving you angry at yourself for wasting your time.
Cinematically, it's ok. None of the acting was bad. Regardless of the cast or crew, I can't afford to give it more than the lowest scare and a question- What the hell were the actors thinking when they signed on to perform in this circus side-show?
Terrible disappointment.
Climax (2018)
Believing something more sinister was at hand, it kept me on the edge of my seat for s few moments.
The beginning- Preliminary one-on-one interviews with the dancers...dosen't matter and is a waste of time. There is no character development after the little intro with each dancer. Only serves to show a few obvious connections or other obvious intentions.
The beginning dance sequence- Just these random idiots dancing with almost no choreography or matching styles. Just looked like a mash-up of sidewalk breakdancers or night club hood rats that had no footwork and just flapped their arms around way too much. I was literally thinking, "Jesus, is this how people dance in France?"
The next part got me...someone drugged them with LSD, apparently. But why? Who? You will never know. Nothing happened except some freaked out to the point of insanity and some just kept dancing even though other people were running around hurting themselves or attacking others. The general reaction (exp) would be to sit down and not move and just think endlessly, probably with paranoia, but just finding a safe quiet place to think. Instead, they never stopped the music after realizing someone drugged them. Just kept dancing and screaming and attacking themselves and others.
Huge let down. I've already given away the whole movie.
Personally, seeing people screaming for help in an involuntarily drug induced state of psychosis and delusion, and seeing the people they plead to just keep dancing to the same beat for the entire movie made me so angry I had to lay down and count to ten once I realized nothing else was happening.
The Professor and the Madman (2019)
The most boring movie I've ever seen.
Not poorly written, not poorly acted, not poorly directed. It was just incredibly boring. There was no climax at all. It was just two different guys bonding by writing a dictionary they never completed. Flat out boring story.
A Private War (2018)
Mostly true story of an idiot running amok
As an American independent voter- this is liberal garbage celebrating a "powerful and brave" woman who drove herself into the ground to tell the story of how bad muslims have it, knowing damn well it's because they are in fact muslims. It's well acted and put together well, just the entire content is political AF. If you decide to watch for yourself, when you get bored and annoyed with the chain-smoking drunken old woman running around without a care for her own life or her own team's lives, just skip to the last five minutes.
Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer (2018)
I've never seen this many fake reviews ever! This is the kind of production value you see in bad late night television.
Definitely flat out paid 9-10 star reviews. I couldn't finish it after 30 minutes completely based on the acting, directing, sound, and overall production. Yes, I came into it with an open-mind. I chose it because the reviews on imdb were so high. 10, 10, 10, 9, 10, 9, 10, 10? OMG. This movie is flat out terrible, regardless of the controversial theme.
