The Directive (2019)
It had me Captivated!
Atleast he went for it, he did more than a lot of people ...
Honestly this is my favorite of Pimentel's Films.
Our Society is completely unprepared for an E.L.E. and I know that 90% of Americans under the age of 30 would be exactly like this main character.
Fresh Outfit, Chillin at the Red Cross, staying close by the Food, still Fat AF, Screwing Around each day, dreaming of the days they were playing Video Games.
This whole thing is an Allegory: It's based on a Video Game, he immediately plays a Video Game first chance he gets and the Robot, when you really think about it, is the only reason he survives. The Robot reminded me of a cell phone the whole movie, we rely so much on our technology, what happens when it lies to us? We have our faces stuck in phones all day especially people in his Generation. What if our phones or technology lies to us... Sways our thoughts... spies on us.... Wait... it does.. and has.. and will.. Meaning this is pretty dang good!
Get Woke. That's my two cents and idc if you don't like it. Take That!
Build a Fire (2011)
Classic Short Film
To Build a Fire is not only a staple in American Literature, but also, this is a milestone in Pimentel's Career. Winning two Film Festivals for 'Best Dramatic Short,' this film has set the tone & pace for all his Directorial installments in Cinema.
By mixing Jack London's reach into the depths of mankind along with the minimalist & neorealist approach of Alexander's filmmaking, 'Build a Fire,' stands as a 20min experience of tragedy, turmoil and the universal struggle of man vs. nature.
Tom Vincent is a famous role played by David Fichtenmayer and the influence of this Short Film is most prevalent in The Directive 2019. (My favorite Film from this Director)
This should be picked up by The Criterion Collection.
Down River (2018)
Salty Keyboard Warriors.. 0_0
From reading through the reviews it is impeccably clear that the majority of these negative reviewers are unintelligent. First off you can tell the majority of them watched the Trailer and talk about helmets and uniform color, then review and think they're so cool because they made a comment.
The Film is clearly about a Fictional War... Meaning they're not US Military or any other Military. Different Color Uniforms and Fictional Flags were clear signs the film is not trying to accurately show the US MILITARY or any other Army. It's just about War. (Fear and Desire) Did you even watch the Original film??
They're should be an IQ Test prior to letting people review movies. These are the same people who buy books with only pictures and think they know a lot about movies because they watch them. Blind leading the Blind.
None of the Reviewers could make a movie so they resort to a log in and a review panel to help them cope with the fact they'll never make a movie. Rubbish. Go grab a camera and put your vision where your mouth is.
These guys making a movie shows they at least are better than someone hiding behind a keyboard and an email. Good Day.
