Management (2008)
weird, disappointing
I can't believe that Jennifer Aniston accepted this movie. The first part is downright weird. Some guy in a motel telling Jennifer she has a nice ass (so she lets him touch it) and then stalking her.
The rest of the movie is flat and boring. Sometimes I wonder if she's perpetually playing out a script in her own mind, and grabbing any movie no matter how bad that plays it out: Weird guy goes for her. But she likes his heart, so falls for him.
The one star is for Jennifer. Otherwise, it'd be a zero.
Don't waste your time.
See her nice ass in GQ instead.
Love Happens (2009)
Why did Jennifer accept this role?
My wife took me to this movie. I thought I'd like seeing Jennifer, which I did. But the movies sucks. Other than Jennifer, it's repulsive and insulting.
Repulsive: The smarmy snake-oil salesman. What a creep.
Insulting: All the touchy-feely men talking about their emotions, all the time.
After 3 minutes of seeing Mr. A-OK whine and cry, I just wanted to walk out.
Bottom line: This movie makes you want to slug the first snake-oil salesman you see. Jennifer is too well off to lower herself to this level.
Ma mère (2004)
Refreshing
In an age when sex scenes are deleted from movies by American studios trying for a dumbed-down R rating, it's refreshing to see foreign movies that do their own thing. Ma Mere is one such movie.
The young guy's girlfriend is a real looker, especially in bed, where she looks like women actually look when they're having sex ... naked ... as opposed to American movies where the characters somehow manage to make love fully clothed.
There's a little bit of twisted French dementia in this movie, as can be expected from the French; they have a bad case of ennui, apparently. But overall this is a good film. And check out that chick taking the 'leading role' with her boyfriend!
