In the Name of the Father (1993)
Great
It's a great film, especially if you like prison dramas (is that what they call them? 🤔). It's a shame Daniel Day-Lewis has retired from acting.
Pete Postlethwaite also gives a grounbreaking performance as Gerry Conlon's troubled father. Bono's songs and Trevor Jones' soundtrack are amazing, too. Not a movie to watch just because you're bored, don't say I didn't warn you.
The Wicker Man (1973)
At last I've seen it
Well, this is a well done movie that even by today standards will give you the creeps. It reminds me of another movie of the decade called "Quién puede matar a un niño" by Narciso Ibáñez Serrador. Both movies take place on an island where odd things happen. At least Summerisle has people on its streets. I won't spoil the movie for you. Go and watch it. If you're Christopher Lee's fans that's even better.
The Sound of Music (1965)
At last
I had wanted to see this for a long, long time. It was not what I expected, but it is a good movie. The acting is good, especially by Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer (RIP). The music is good and kind-hearted, I really liked it. I don't know about you but the running time wasn't a issue for me, I didn't find the film boring by any means. I don't give it a higher rating because I think it's a little bit cheesy and too sweet at times. What I don't understand is why me Plummer hated It so mucho so he was unwilling to even go to the movie's cast celebrations...
Anyway... If you have children ir you just want to watch a well done musical film I'd say watch The sound of music, but I don't think it's as good as some people claim it to be.
The Full Monty (1997)
One of my favorites
One of my favorite movies from all time. The actors are fabulous and the movie is very funny. Robert Carlyle and Tom Wilkinson do a great job. You feel sorry for these characters
