Spaceman (2024)
Poor Man's Ad Astra
Felt emotionless, the characters didn't engage me and I didn't really care what happened to them at the end. It wasn't that the acting was bad, there just wasn't any chemistry. I usually love arthouse philosophical movies that make you think or open to interpretation but this just didn't do it for me at all.. it TRIED to be deep it TRIED to be arty but failed and fell flat. It felt like it was trying a little too hard with the almost constant weepy background music. Ad Astra is a similar but much better film that was emotional. The best Adam Sandler Movie is The Cobbler by far, go and watch that instead :)
You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment (2024)
Biased from the start
They said it was healthy meat diet vs healthy vegan diet. Rubbish.. they were giving them Sausages. That is not a healthy meat.. Sausages are full of saturated fat and are processed. They even discussed how processed meats cause cancer in the first episode. They then gave all the vegan twins clean healthy plant based meals before comparing the "healthy" processed meat diet with the clean vegan diet (obvs the clean vegan came out on top) and then in episode 4 plugging a load of processed meat and cheese substitutes. What an absolute joke. This could have been really interesting but was just bias through and through. Vegan diet can be just as unhealthy and cancer causing if you are eating processed food. If they had out a processed vegan diet vs clean proteins chicke/turkey, the meat diet would have won. In short. Don't eat processed food it will kill you.
Arkansas (2020)
I really enjoyed this movie
It kept my intrigue the whole time. I liked the characters.. acting was great.. nice soundtrack.. decent unique story.. no way this deserves a 5.9. I have seen worse movies rated 7 or higher. Nice one Clark Duke, this is a strong debut movie. I look forward to seeing your future works 👍
Mortal Engines (2018)
Why all the hate for this movie?
Ok so I wouldn't actually give this a 10 but I think some people are being a bit harsh so trying to balance that out.. I think maybe a 7.5/8 would be fair.
I really enjoyed this movie.. I thought it was unique (although I admit I haven't seen some of the other movies it is being compared to).. yes it has the usual predictable story of the underdog rising up and good winning over evil.. but what action/adventure movie doesn't have that??
I thought the visuals were absolutely beautiful.. like stunning.. as an arty person this ticked a big box for me..
The story itself was interesting and kept me engaged.. I didn't find it totally predictable..
It's action packed from beginning to end..
I found a couple of bits a little cheesy and the acting in parts wasn't amazing.. but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would def recommend it.. prob a better watch at the cinema because of the visuals which are always nicer on a big screen.
