How It Ends (2021)
7/10
Deserves more credit than it gets.
14 August 2022
Without going into massive details about the plot and narrative, it's important to remember that this film was made during the pandemic. The efforts to even put a film together at that time should be highly commended.

The film itself has it's issues but all in all its a fairly solid effort.

Wicker Park (2004)

very well told and disguised story
15 August 2006
how people can call this script week i don't quite know. having not seen the original idea from the french original i am basing this opinion purely on the merit of the film. having watched lucky number slevin before hand i was prepared for the typical mcguigan flashback effect, but how he uses it in slevin is nothing compared to the superb effect he pulls off in this film. this is all in all a very well told love story and the use of flashback allows the audience build up an overview of past and present parts of all the characters. the use of mirrors is one of the most noticeable yet (relating to other reviews on this website) overlooked techniques. the mirrors were a superb technique which gives light to the real meaning in this film. hartnetts acting in this is solid and fits the bill, with rose playing a good female character. all in all this is really worth watching!

Happy Gilmore (1996)
9/10
laughter from the start
21 June 2006
this is one of the most enjoyable films that i have ever seen, the humour is fantastic and is suitable for any audience. there is something for everyone in this film and is Sanders best. the management of characters is exactly right with Christopher Mcdonald playing a fantastic bad guy to compliment Sandlers Gilmore character. don't' watch this film expecting any Oscar winning performances just an easy-to-watch, fun loving film that will have you ticked pink all the way through. also watch out for the humour theft from other films. Watch out for cameo roles from some professional golfers most noticeably Lee Travino

you most certainly don't have to be a golf fan to enjoy this film!

Genius

Warning: Spoilers
After hearing people say that this film was a gore fest i had to see for myself. what i found was a truly brilliant example of artistic precision.

this film shows the true ugly side of human nature, it shows that there is a repressed, grotesque side in every human being that is capable of being unleashed. where the idea for the film came from is a horrifying thought process, a truly horrific scenario to be caught in with people that have a truly evil take on life. what this film does is install just a horrifying natter-gram of the feeling that the tortured people go through. some people have said after this film that some of the more horrifying acts are uncalled for, i would disagree and suggest that the degree of torture is only just applicable anything more explicit and this film would be truly terrifying to 90% of the people that watch it. All in all this is a really good film, with the first half being put displayed in a very poetic yet explicit manner. i feel that some parts of the second half could have been done differently but all in all this is a very good film for the film lover not so much for the commercial film lover.

very poor continuation of a series of films which had such promise
4 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
the film sees the continuation of the idea of premonitions of death and then as usual one by one the characters are picked off. this is a quintessential example of the American way of making more money out of something that was a previous success and is an insult to film! the only main difference is the semiotic technique used to foretell the way in which the next character will die apart from that there is nothing new that happens in terms of storyline just a different group of teenagers that find themselves in the situation. so many other things that could have been done with the idea but it seems that no real thought was put in trying to enhance the situation. if your looking for something new don't bother watching this. the deaths are somewhat more graphic which is the only thing that can save this film, it seems that there has been little thought put into just how to kill off people other than how to crush the head, or impale a person, it is time to come up with something new!
