Strangers (I) (2018)

I really liked this series.

"Strangers" or "White Dragon" is really good, sensible television. It avoids the exaggerations that most American action films and TV series fall victim to. You don´t have a hero who gets away with anything and everything and no stupid, choreographed fight scenes every ten minutes. Jonah is a sensible man with a life turned more complicated by no fault of his own. His new found step daughter Lau Chen is really your typical young adult going through the difficulty of losing her mother and finding out uncomfortable truths about her family. She seemed to find her common sense though and is a well written character.

This is a story about a ordinary people dealing with loss and uncomfortable truths. Things get ratcheted up a notch when those family secrets involve corruption at the highest levels of government and threats to the main character and his step daughter.

Hotel Artemis (2018)

A good action film

This is the story of a nurse in a future America that has gone to crap. Chaos, rampant crime where most people don´t have access to essential resources are a good summary of this world the characters must navigate.

This movie is a good watch with good action. I enjoyed it.

Hold the Dark (2018)

What a bone chilling thriller

The talent in this film is superb and the story is just incredible. The main character Russell Core, played by Jeffrey Wright, is our guide on this journey into the strange and horrific. He knows what´s going on and it´s up to us to keep up. Just a great movie.

Deliverance (1972)

This is a very good movie

This is a very good movie that is much more than the simple outdoor adventure genre. It´s more than just an action film and the group of adventurers have more to deal with than the forces of nature. It definitely is an ageless gem that is just as good today as it was in 1972.

This is an excellent film folks.

I loved the story

One of the things that make this such a good film is the well written script. I noticed certain subtle symmetries in the story that were just delicious. Also during the movie you can´t help but put yourself in the shoes of the main character and that is just disturbing. This is a great film that is worth the watch. So check it out and enjoy it.

A Breath Away (2018)

A very good film

This is a very good film that avoids all the trite elements of a sci-fi or survivalist story. The characters are sensible and likeable and the story is really good. Check this gem out folks. You won´t regret it.

This is a fun Sci-Fi film with heroes, heroines, spaceships and aliens. It´s a fun watch and good scifi.

I was surprised how much I liked this film. The characters are very likeable and the story is quite good. Movies age very quickly and only a few can withstand the test of time. This one does just that. Clark Gable is fantastic.

This is a fun film that does not take itself too seriously. It´s dopey, simple with likeable characters and fun. I enjoyed it.

City of God (2002)

An unflinching and rich film

This film deserves all the positive reviews it got and I understand why it is a cult classic. I loved the way the characters navigated their dangerous world and the dynamics between them. You can´t help but sympathise with the beautiful people of this story and root for them. This is such a good film that gets better with time.
