Yatra (2018)
Much ado about nothing
Disobeying norms, making people wait is treated as psychological warfare in bharatha, but such behavior is highly unprofessional. YSR makes people wait just to teach them a lesson! Sounds like he took the wrong side of 'do unto others what you expect others to do unto you'.
I did not quite follow how a politician who has clout of money and power is transformed to divinity in this movie. Of course he helped some people, but he also abetted bad behavior and supported the rich in their misdeeds. Surprising how this movie got star reviews! The sentimental sacrificial music plays in the background as though every step building up the hero takes as remarkable though it is an less than a ordinary feat! Hero worship at its best.

An unprofessional's rise to a leader!
Disobeying norms, making people wait is treated as psychological warfare in bharatha, but such behavior is highly unprofessional. YSR makes people wait just to teach them a lesson! Sounds like he took the wrong side of 'do unto others what you expect others to do unto you'.
The movie portrays the sad state of affairs where a noob gets elected as chief minister just by the qualification of his birth and wealth, rather than deeds. The man with the biggest assets becomes the leader.
I did not quite follow how a politician who has clout of money and power is transformed to divinity in this movie. Hero worship at its best.
Gurudev Hoysala (2023)
Social message? Cliché!
The movie is a little better than the other chest thumping ones in the sense the fights are a little more realistic. The social message of 'caste' seems like a feel-good, but there is nowhere else in this earth which does not have a caste system. Every country, every religion, every non-religion have divisions. Blaming caste for our problems in society is moronic and a cop-out.
Other than caste, there is another social message of honor killings. But it is the message of anti corruption that comes out more powerful in this movie. It is unnerving how anyone will not cooperate with the local mafia and do their bidding, unless you have super human strength.
Acting wise, Dhananjaya is ok, Achyuth Kumar is good, and he is capable of much better. The starcast and their portrayals are good.
Kantara (2022)
The most gripping climax in Indian Cinema!
Here comes a once in a lifetime movie! The story weaves itself from the past into the present nicely. The dhaiva aradhana is the centerpiece and gives it a deserved recognition. The language, nuances, and culture is depicted well.
The story is true to life and the performances are great. The role of the mother is outstandingly played by Manasi. Achyuth Kumar is versatile and carries his role very well. Supported by the entire cast and crew, very true to life dialogues and events. The absorption of the spirit into a human body transforming itself into a whole new avatar is engrossing.
This one is for the big screen.
Kavaludaari (2019)
Rivetting
A low traffic cop (Rishi) gets interested in archeological findings that reveal a treacherous plot that happened 40 years ago. He takes the help of a retired police officer (Anant Nag) and a broke journalist (Achyutha kumar) to investigate history. The narration slowly gathers pace and becomes provoking. Rishi has a good personality, and his acting stands on his own against stalwarts like Nag and Kumar. Sampath is brilliant as the villain turned state CM.
Amar (2019)
Couldn't watch more than 15 minutes
Nauseating. The hero cannot emote. He looks obese. The action scenes are mindless. Not sure what they wanted to achieve with this film.
Kurukshetra (2019)
Does not convey good social values
The movie makes an evil character (Duryodhana) as the hero, whereas the real hero of Mahabharatha (Bhima) is shown being subdued by Duryodhana if not for Lord Krishna's intervention. Completely misrepresents the characters to show Darshan's persona as larger than life at the stake of the actual magnum opus written by Sage Vyasa. The movie is an insult to the Sage. At least have some conscious while borrowing from the ancient scriptures.
Kaala (2018)
Mindless
Idiotic movie which discriminates on color and religion. Panders to the beliefs of the director. Some scenes are politically motivated probably trying to further a filmy career into politics. The narrative is broken and out of control.
Scandal (2012)
Too much and abrupt camera projector shots !
Well directed and acted. But it is pathologically ridden with frequent camera clicks which is annoying. It is also harmful to the eyes. Make a good show and spoil it with such fast click gimmicks!
