Touching & Heartfelt
24 October 2021
I heard heard good things about this film, but having a quick peek on IMDB to read the first user review giving it 1/10, I had my reservations.

These were quickly dispelled as I felt myself being taken into the life of Mustufa and his family (Mustufa is brilliantly acted by Ali Suliman)

The movie has wonderful cinematography, showing the harsh yet warm scenery beautifully, with tender music accompanying the scenes to pull heart stings when required, but not to over sensationalise it.

As someone with no skin in the game for either side, I thought it was an extremely fair and balanced portrayal of the struggles of Palestinian families living in and around the West Bank and travelling through checkpoints daily.

Whatever you think of the situation, I would look at this film with open eyes, and you will be pleasantly surprised.

After the film finished, I checked IMDB to see who had directed it, and was more than surprized to find it was also a feature film directorial debut from the writer Ameen Nayfeh.

Looking forward to more of her films!

Like totally not totally awesome, ok man.

Like this is so not on trend anymore dude, its like totally cliched at this point, OMG.

Someone famous once said, beware of becoming the mask behind the mask or such, maybe it was Muhmmed Ali, or someone else of note in history, or maybe they even said, be careful becoming the thing you despise, or the road to Bondi is paved with good intentions etc, yadda yadda.

Anyway, I totally love Australian content and understand the challenges facing production during a pandemic, but like this is totally not it ok man?

Why not let sleeping lions sleep where they were once admired for a while. Why wake them up and then force them to do cheap magic tricks for the masses?

Its Totally not that much fun any more and my tiktok account cant cope with 15 seconds of content let alone trying to sit through this sorta of hard noise.

Amazing

This is one of the best things to come out of Turkey since Gheorghe Hagi.

If you can somehow find a way to watch it, make sure you do, as the ratings do not lie.

Its equal parts comedy and tragedy, with the fumbling, bumbling, hitman acted to perfection.

I'm still sitting on the fence with this film. I'm not sure if it's a brilliant parody, some sort of weird interpretation of The Nuns of Sant' Ambrogio story, or a serious attempt at making a feature film. It's very possible this was a free labour community project, so hats off to all involved if that was the case, anything creative is a tireless and thankless process. Otherwise...
