Loved It

This series captures a man with his own demons and internal struggles who meets a woman in a bar who he pity's and because he is a true empath he is kind to her, she saw that kindness and was immediately drawn to him, due to her own mental illness she became so fixated on him.

Later on he realises that he understands her because he has similar pain to her, they were both troubled souls, although he doesn't love her and feels anger for what she's done to his life, he somehow feels a strange connection that he is surprised at himself and doesn't understand.

There is so much depth and emotion under the pain. Such a great show.

We are all damaged

This movie was pretty interesting, it did touch me in some ways, but I feel it fell short with some things. They were obviously trying to show the parents with issues but I think they failed to hit the mark, the pregnant neighbour was just thrown in and didn't add much value. The guy Moses was a messed up but had a gentle heart, I don't understand how his brother ended up going around with him places though? Also why was the little violin student always around?

They could have captured Moses character and shown how the relationship with Milla changes him and his life, they could have shown relationships forming better and also should have shown a scene after her passing and how they were coping. Overall it was an ok watch just think it had some flaws.

Such a let down

Warning: Spoilers
So we followed the story of Jesse and Celine and grew to know them and their unrequited love, but this movie just did not do the characters the justice they deserved.

The acting is brilliant as always and I understand the concept of being real and authentic but as fans we don't want to jump in 9 years later to see their flawed relationship, that's not what we invested our time to see.

We wanted to see them happy to see each other, how their love evolved over the years even through the challenges.

At the lunch they just glossed over their love story and made light of it as is they felt nothing.

Also for Celine to say that she doesn't think she loves him anymore, was just madness!

This movie failed to impress and ended on a sour note about these characters.

What is going on?

Well this was a surprise, there was so much in this movie to unpack.

It had so much bizarre content that I couldn't keep up, it was chaotic, even hilarious at times. But it captured also the stress and dangers of film making in those days, besides the humour there was also serious feelings, like being broken, lonely and people in desperation to fit in to feel special or to fill a void.

Nellie was a classic example of someone from a traumatic past with was a hot mess, she was a leech and made no effort to change.

Manny a beautiful character that would do anything Nellie.

And poor, sad , lonely Conrad.

Really loved this!

Cooky, weird but real people. Flawed and full of life.

It really shows the generation gaps of how we are all in different places in time. Just love the truth of each character. The music and execution of actors, the whole show is really catching.

There's funny moments but also lots of truth and rawness that you can't hide from.

I was hooked, I suggest watching with an open mind, lots of turns and character moments that inspire, make you sad, frustrated and annoyed at but that's the beauty of it. We are in a new era of life and the writers have captured that quite perfectly.

Such a Cute Movie
24 July 2023
This was such a surprise to watch, I didn't realise it would make me laugh and cry at the same time. It was so cute, despite the silliness of the premise the movie really makes you think and realise just how fast life does go by, we need to make the most of every moment we have.

Make me cry towards the end in a good way. The lead is such a great actor really made me laugh so much.

Definitely worth watching with a good friend or loved one.

Don't know why we need so many characters to write a review. Life is precious enjoy it, take the time with each person, it's way more important than money.

Emotionally moving
16 October 2022
This is a movie that may seem from the outside very strange and not conventionally normal. It may even show all the classic signs of a man trying to groom a young girl, but look closer it so much more complex, the young girl has a bad home life and is way more mature than her age. The man is searching for more meaning in his life. An unusual friendship is formed that becomes much more complex and deep. The lessons the girl learned and the moments experienced will stay with her forever. The man found a love that wasn't sexual but emotionally meaningful. Very well made and acted, I was surprised by the intensity.

Wild, weird, awesome

I loved this mini series, it had an interesting storey line while at the same time kind of like a parody of others shows. Notice all the book titles she reads, kind of cliché things that happen, cringy but endearing at the same time. Stay with it, worth a watch.

What is going on??

Total train wreck of a show! I love historical dramas, but this has no accuracy at all, it's just fictional teen drama centred around a royal setting. And the costumes, oh my! Just No!!

Great 90's soap trash

Watching the series back doesn't have the same edge it did in its day, at the time it was modern, hip and cool. But what's with all the characters being mentally unhinged? Most have serious mental issues and volatile relationships. From womanisers, serial romantics, insecurities, possessive, murderers, backstabbers... your sure to get some classic drama from this show, mostly trashy but we'll watch it nonetheless.

Very Dissapointing
20 February 2022
So many things wrong with these movies... i was basically thinking, why did they bother making them if they didn't want to stick to the same storey line. The books were fantastic and they have made such a mess. The basic things that were important to the storey line were the colour of the characters hair, it may seem like it wasn't important but if you are a fan of the books you will know why. Heaven was brunette, her mother Angel was Blonde, the next book is called dark Angel because heaven looked like Angel but dark. Her step mother Sarah was a Red Hed as well as all her children except Fanny, she always wanted Luke's dark hair boy so he would love her, but in the movie Tom was dark hair. Fanny should have been younger and cheeky, very promiscous and beautiful. Kitty should have been a Vuluptous Red Head. Leigh should have been a young beautiful blonde. So many issues with all these Characters that didn't suit the descriptions.

The other issue is the sets, they just seemed so wrong, the cabin should have been shabby and poor, they made it seem modern and new. The set's were made to look like they were all Modern, but this should have been in the 60's in poor outback West Virginia. The manor Farthy was not luxurious enough.

They missed so much crucial plot in the first movie, where heaven and her siblings were left alone for months and they had no food left, they had to steal and find food themselves. They missed out on so much juicy details, just really poor and lazy, the acting wasn't great either. Sorry but why did they bother, did the writers even read the books?
