Meh.
Premise is good, but the execution just isn't there. Almost seems like a straight up knock off of Fox's missing persons show that debuted last year, with the twist of the main character having a captive in her basement that she uses to help solve missing persons cases. The side story lines of some of the supporting characters are really the biggest reason I've watched more than the first couple of episodes. It's decent enough to watch as background noise while I crochet and while I wait for my shows to return after the strike/holiday season, but to be honest I probably won't finish the season once it restarts after the holidays.
Black Mirror: Mazey Day (2023)
Worst Black Mirror Episode Ever
I very nearly turned off the episode once the (spoiler) was revealed. Totally not what I would consider Black Mirror subject material, werewolves are not sci fi, they're fantasy/supernatural and overrated at best. Up until that point, it seemed like a good episode and was actually going holding my interest, though.
Unlike others, I don't think this season is that bad - the best? No, but definitely not as bad as some people have made it sound. I do wish it hadn't taken so long to release it, and I think that might be why the quality isn't up to some people's standards (including this episode, in particular).
How I Caught My Killer (2023)
Narrators ruined it
I'm a true crime junkie - I've seen most of the true crime series out there, and was intrigued by the concept of this show, where the best clues were from the victim themselves. The first episode actually got and kept my attention throughout the episode, but I can't say the same about the ones that followed. For me, my biggest issue was the narration. I don't know why the directors and producers thought having soft spoken 15 year olds as narrators would be good, but it was bad enough that I only made it through the first two episodes and part of the third before it was clear there was a pattern and it wasn't going to improve as the series progressed. I would actually say, as my review title says, the narrators ruined the series for me.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Zero Tolerance (2018)
Lots of heartless whiners on here
This was easily one of the best episodes of SVU I've seen, and I've seen every episode since the pilot (and over half of them several times)...I haven't cried so much at an episode of this show in a long time. A lot of you whiners on here complaining about the show being too realistic threatening to stop watching the show - all seasons of the show have had episodes that were very close to reality. Also, no one cares if you stop watching, I'm amazing you've unglued your mouth from Trump's rear end long enough to watch a full episode of television that doesn't air on Faux News, anyway.
