I Care a Lot (2020)
Recommend - weird to see so many 1 rating
Great character development, you end up really disliking the predator of the film while also enjoying her power and ruthlessness.
Not many worthy movies right now but this is a home run.
I see a rush of 1 scores, I guess these are fake?
The I-Land (2019)
Watchable - too many poor reviewers
I found the backstories of the characters to be interesting, as they discovered their past. Trying to figure out who was good vs bad was a decent draw as well.
Some of the dialogue was poor, and there was a mix of good and bad acting. Unnecessary twist at the end.
Ratings of 1 should be reserved for films much worse and ratings of 10 for something much better. Seems people just want to post reviews in a sensational way instead of being a true reflection of the quality of the film.
Happy Death Day 2 U (2019)
Average - boring at times
I liked the first one better. Found this one to be a bit of a bore and thought the attempts at humor were missing the mark. I know both are primarily targeted for younger audiences but this one felt a bit too much "pre-teen" for my liking. I also was annoyed at knowing exactly the direction they would take with the boyfriend/mom angle, feeling like I already knew the ending and turning out correct was a disappointment.
I didn't leave wanting a refund, I did wish I went to see a different movie though and saved this for a rental.
Hell Fest (2018)
It was decent
Pro -
-> Liked the premise in a theme/scare park
-> The villain has a frightening presence, great mask
-> Filled with action from the beginning
Con -
-> Didn't care about any of the characters/potential victims
-> Very little clarity about the killer and his motivations
-> Was too predictable
I think it is worth a watch for horror fans, better as a rental than seeing it in the cinema.
