12 Angry Men (1997 TV Movie)
10/10
Better than the original!
8 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
After 40 years of 12 angry men in B/W starring Henry Fonda - it was time to try again. Henry F and friends ,- did an excellent job in 1957 , no doubt about it. But this is even better. It has an even more emotional and spirited atmosphere , with even more feelings to each actor. Jack Lemmon is brilliant as the knight and warrior of righteousness and gives his character Davies the exact expressiveness and life that is needed - a bit more than Fonda who was a bit more silent and concerned as a person. Nothing wrong about him - Lemmon does however make his man stronger with a touch of a temper - he can get a little angry an it looks good. It's the best!

Oh,no!
1 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
In this comeback 3 years after succeeding in the original Batman, our hero - Michael Keaton - is here facing his final appearance as both Bruce and the flying detective and strongman. The story isn't there like in 1989 -and despite all good efforts of various famous actors ,-this plot is a bore,-as I'm concerned. After giving The joker a terrible beating ,Batman should have met some other challenge - more dangerous and furious than the penguin, and a angry woman. There has to be some development and progress to keep the suspense and action going - this story is lacking in both and I think that Batman is facing clowns in a theater this time.Although both the penguin and Catwomen gives some fight - they are no threat to Batman ever,I think - I must admit - I am not a bit disappointed, but very .

Batman Begins (2005)

Second to ...Batman!
30 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I think after watching C.Bale in Batman Begins at a local cinema and now on DVD , that this is the best Batman since Michael Keaton did his best show in 1989. Christian Bale is a very strong contender to be Batman,he is the most muscular but Keaton still rules in my opinion. Where Bale is strong and young,Keaton was kind of distinct and mature,-like the Batamn we got to know in the Neil Adam's B/W-series from the 70's. Batman Begins is good ,but I think C.Bale's character is a little bit to boyish - especially when doing Bruce. Bruce and Batman should be a bit older - in appearance and behavior. The story is there - o'yes - and has suspense - but I don't know yet if I'm comfortable with Bruce's training and education sequence, meeting his mentor played by Liam Neeson. It 's a bit overdone in matters of martial arts and fighting . I like Bale in many ways :He is strong and he is tall ,displays a good physique - and he is capable in being a treat to both thieves and the mob,but does he bring Batman the true character the right moods, the mystery and thrill? Because both Batman and Bruce is originally somewhat on a distance from others - he should be to maintain the ability to surprise and to vanish when ever he wants - he needs some distance mentally to keep his mind clear like a detective, not mix to much with others ,only with Alfred. M.Caine is doing his job OK, but Alfred from 1989 was more like The Alfred I like. Batman Begins should have been made in B/W - and Bale could have cut his hair to a shorter black trim. But he is good.

Batman (1989)

The first - and the best , so far.
28 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is Batman.Michael Keaton is Batman. This is possibly the best Batman ever - and will be? Keaton makes our hero close to Neil Adam's hero from the 60's and 70's I believe,-as close as anyone could get to the dark knight in B/W and also in grey /blue. Keaton does it in a most honorable and simple way - balancing humor and suspense - neither making Batman look like a clown nor a fool. Alfred is also giving his share into this classic,- that not even C.Bale (in Batman Begins)and Michael Caine could do - I think. Jack Nicholson gives massive character to the criminal the Joker and is the perfect match for Batman. The Joker is truly dangerous ,- and gives Batman a hard time - also being the murderer of young Bruce Wayne's parents. This adds to the good story and makes it work . This would have been a 10" made in B/W . Check out that Batmobile!

A Masterpiece!
29 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This is the ultimate and to this day the most powerful, realistic and best version of Jesus and His life on earth . Robert Powell gives his character the kind of personality that gives his role realism and purity at the same time, like no one else. I think he has done a terrific job in this almost impossible task. He makes Jesus real! All the way you will enjoy his way of speaking The Word with a heart and might that this role is supposed to have . And he is doing alright. No, he is doing it brilliantly! Sometimes I think to myself - it must have been close to this!...I like to think of Jesus like this, when I see this picture .I know that there is no other than Christ to save ,and thanks for that .Robert Powell makes a very good character.Watch it!

Christ in the way of Mel Gibson
29 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
The history and passion of Christ like no other . It's brutal and hardly recommended for children under 12.But it is trustworthy and gives a realistic and direct experience, like no other movie of this genre. The Gibson like Christ is very human in a natural way, almost to human compared to Robert Powell in the 1977 version,-but still it is good, very good for grown ups and adults .The emphasis is almost entirely on the pain and suffering of our Savior - The Passion .It's not a movie that you will enjoy and relax to,but it gives you an opportunity to understand and see how it feels to suffer this kind of a beating. There is more to it of course. Take a look yourself. It grabs you.
