Under the Dome (2013)
Great potential
This series starts slow, but starts to pick up halfway through the first season. What really ruins it is the selection of actors. Some of them are just not right for their roles. Norriie for one, but the worst is by far deputy Linda. Her character is just not believable. She could at least try some facial expressions or SOMETHING!! I think season one gets better halfway through partly because she isn't as central of a character. Big Jim's character is fantastic--the villain you love to hate, as is Barbie's and Julia. Even Junior is played superb, his character is the perfect fit. As long as deputy Linda isn't on as much, and maybe get some better songs for the soundtrack, season 2 should be great!
Dear John (2010)
The book was much better
I had read the book a few weeks before the movie, and will say I was disappointed by the movie. Though Channing and Seyfriend give great performances (I was very pleasantly surprised by Channing's), and the father-son scenes are very touching, the plot itself was rather confusing. The ending did not have nearly as much insight as the book did, only indicating that John paid for the treatment, but not his motivations and reasoning behind it, like the book. The first few scenes of the movie didn't seem to give the characters enough time to develop the chemistry that was later seen between them. It seemed a bit too "fast-fowarded" for me, but some make take to that. The best scenes in the movie, by far, were the intense scenes with John and his father, especially the "hospital scene," in which Channing gives a great performance. Overall, a good movie, but the book is much, much better (as with many films adapted from books).
Felicity: Back to the Future (2002)
Elaina??
Did anyone else notice that Elena was at the wedding in the final scene? Didn't she die in a car accident? And all of a sudden Tracy is there, too? This episode didn't make much sense. And Felicity fought hard to form her own identity in majoring in Art in college, and then at the end she just goes back to what her parents wanted all along? Doesn't that just totally invalidate everything she had worked for? I think the Elena thing is just the worst part of this. And didn't explain too clearly how she receives "closure" in her relationship with Noel, nor how Noel seems able to close the chapter in his relationship with Felicity. These last two episodes of this show were just confusing and did not seem to follow the same format and flow of previous episodes.
Unreal (2004)
Horrible!!
I just finished watching this movie, so it is still fresh in my mind. This movie was awful! It was NOT "break-up therapy" as suggested at all!! This movie was more ABOUT reality shows than it was about break-ups/relationships. I think it would have been better if it was presented not as a documentary, but an actual movie. It seems almost realistic, since they didn't use actors and actresses that actually LOOKED like Hollywood actors/actresses (GOOD LOOKING), though I think the Jake character was good looking (I think he might be gay, though? A little too feminine.) Save your money and wait to see it on those B-list movies that come on UPN or something.
