Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
11/10
Beautiful, dramatic, epic and funny.
I liked the love line between Cruise's and Connelly's characters, it doesn't look like cliche. The whole movie made in the best traditions of blockbusters, but at the same time it looks like something new and fresh.
I hope that «Top Gun: Maverick» will change the rules of the game and we'll get rid of that awful CGI and green screen in the movies as soon as possible.
Tom Cruise once again proved that he is a legend.
The Boys: Herogasm (2022)
One of the best episode of the show(maybe the best one)
Jensen Ackles burns the screen by his charisma and that low voice. 'Herogasm' is a peak of craziness that creators have shown throughout all three seasons.
The Black Phone (2021)
Film is average, in the best sense of this word
Scott Derrickson shows us the problem of child abuse. The Grabber is a some kind of compilation of abusive parent behavior elements. He is waiting that you will make a mistake and therefore he can 'punish' you. I liked how director show us flashbacks/Gwen's visions, it reminded me 'Prince of Darkness' (1987). Film have many easter eggs from other horror movies.
It is a good movie to watch in the evening. Tense atmosphere will make you sit in suspense the whole hour forty-five minute runtime.
The Boys (2019)
OI, C*NT!
I found this series in 2019 and first of all I thought: "meh, just another one superhero project, Amazon like others tries to join to comics adaptation trend..." - and particularly I was somewhere right, but I have never imagined that film/series by comics could be like this one.
We just tired of Marvel/DC generic superhero projects, and 'The Boys' is some kind of a game changer. Anthony Starr's Homelander - perfect. Amost every his appearance in frame is a new templates for memes and gifs.
But as usual, producers tries to get maximum profit from the show. Seasons 2 and 3 finale are the same. The creators are stretching the series for as many seasons as possible.
The Monster Squad (1987)
Monsters team-up
I guess for 80's it was a good horror movie: iconic monsters unites on a big screen. But now it looks like a generic cliche movie and definitely hasn't stood the test of time.
End of Watch (2012)
Police routine
Being police officer, no matter how many plans do you have on your life, there will be one day when you might be shot. David Ayer has revealed this problem, but unfortunately only particularly. Camera work is also leaves much to be desired.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
Cheap and potboiler tv-show
This project was in development at least from 2017, the script has been rewritten god knows how many times, and eventually, producers said 'yes' to this one.
Where's Qui-Gon? 5 second cameo at the end of the final episode is not enough. Why Grand Inquisitor's make up and suit looks so cheap? And this also applies for other characters. Lightsaber fights are on the same level as in 'Star Wars' 1977(!), expect final episode.
If it was a fan work - okay, but this is an official Lucasfilm/Disney series, made by high-paid filmmakers and what is the result?
The Bodyguard (1992)
- What are you afraid of?; - I'm afraid of not being there.
Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner chemistry in the film has really great. For those times, interracial relationship on big screen was something new, though, and now it looks very progressive. Movie starts so quickly, and there was not enough time to introduce Costner's character. Of course, throughout the movie we learn something about his past - and it's good - but I would rather prefer to get more revealed character in the movie's beginning for more emotion. Story is simple, but it works. The bodyguard protects celeb and soon they're fall in love, but both are understand, that they're can't be together. Film certainly not deserved that low ratings.
The Blob (1988)
Horror's classic
This movie has made in the best traditions of horror genre. All script lines are completed. Scary and logically consistent. That was a scene when a waitress trying to hide from a slime in phone booth - and when I watched this, I thought: "Wow, that'll be really great if the monster will wrap around at all sides of booth and starts slowly squeezing it with a waitress inside", and what do you think? It really happened in this movie. It's a brilliant directed and written masterpiece, a good example of well-developed horror.
Captain Fantastic (2016)
Fantastic film
I liked how this film deconstruct wild living people. As we used to think, if a man leaves out of civilisation, he is definitely uneducated and even don't know what Bill of Rights about, the film break this point.
But... no matter how many books you red leaving out of the world, you're still not leaving a completed life.
And film shows all aspects of that problem. Socialisation is a very important part of human life.
Morbius (2022)
I re-watched the movie and changed my mind
I haven never seen movies like this before, I thought that it was some kind of a joke. I rated 'Morbius' 2/10 and this is the worst mistake in my life. After thoughtful rewatch of this film, I understood! Now can't wait for El Muerto, Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web; Sony created a fantastic universe, something just like a old style superhero movies from 00's.
Avi Arad is the best producer in cinema history.
Dark (2017)
MIND-BLOWING
I really liked that the creators of the series pay great attention to details. Everything is connected. It is advisable to review all 3 seasons several times in order to realize how much work has been invested in this fantastic series. Bravo!
Westworld: Vanishing Point (2018)
TV Show Revolution
Not a single film or series caused me such a storm of emotions as Westworld, and especially this episode
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
The best ending
Six years ago we saw the end of the story of Walter White, El Camino - the end of Jesse Pinkman story. It was fantastic!
Batwoman (2019)
You just posted cringe! You are going to loose viewer.
Bad story and bad actress. The series died before it began.
Sidab-Man: Quest for Marvel Studios (2018)
The best sequel
Once Kevin Feige was asked about his favourite films.
And he answered: Sidab-Man and Sidab-Man 2.
Sidab-Man (2016)
Pizdato, kak vsegda
I think this film dostoin all prestigious awards.
Tarantino prosto soset bibu na fone this amazing movie. Shedevr 12/10
Forrest Gump (1994)
Simplicity is the key to success
In some situations the better way - simplicity of thinking.
