Gisangcheong Saramdeul: Sanaeyeonae Janhoksa Pyeon (2022)
This series was disappointing
Weather as a metaphor for life and emotions is not an original concept and has been done before, but I was still looking forward to this series. The actors are talented, but their characters and storylines were not that interesting and the acting felt forced. The lead actors Park Min Young and Song Kang's coupling was NOT sexy. There wasn't any chemistry between these two actors. The decade age difference in this instance did not work. It felt like a mother and child relationship. The Bak Yoon and Yura coupling did not work either. There are very exciting Korean dramas where the leads have a decade age difference and their storylines are interesting and engaging to watch. I thought the supporting cast was good, but they did not have an interesting storyline to work with either. I would not recommend watching this.

Hilarious
There are so many funny and humorous situations in the storyline that I'm constantly smiling and laughing. The leads are sexy and adorable. The entire cast is so talented. They deliver fast paced dialogue with great comedic timing. The music, editing and effects make everything even better. I highly recommend this show!
I am adding this edit in my review after watching the whole season. Tae Mu and Hari dated with marriage in mind from episode 1, fake, then real, they finally get together, but end up separated for one year so Tae Mu's grandfather could be treated for a life threatening illness in the states. I hoped Hari and Tae Mu would reunite and get married in the final episode! Now, I definitely hope there will be a Season 2. Tae Mu and Hari will finally get married and we'll get to see their lives grow. I also hope Young Seo and Seong Hun marry and possibly adopt a child from the same orphanage Seong Hun was adopted. Watching these two best friends and two brothers in Season 1 was so much fun. Season 2 will be even better.

WATCH THIS!!!
The writers explain the relationships between the monsters and the humans that they interact with in great detail. You experience the fantasy, the horror, and the love stories told over a millennium of time. The production, cinematography, visual and special effects artists really brought this story to life and take you on a journey back and forth through time. The monsters transform into humans and the humans transform into monsters. It was very realistic and an original concept in a monster movie. If your an evil human you can reincarnate as a monster. If you were a monster you can reincarnate as a human. The entire cast was so interesting to watch. Good job! I don't want to write any spoilers this time. I highly recommend that you WATCH THIS! It's exciting and worth your time. The ending is very satisfying!
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
THE WRITERS RUINED DEXTER FOREVER
In the original season finale, Dexter steers his boat into a hurricane Laura in Miami FL and he survives. The fans were relieved that Dexter was alive. Dexter was given a second chance at life. The fans wanted to see Dexter live happily with Hannah and Harrison in Argentina. We wanted Dexter, the hero vigilante to keep saving the world from homicidal maniacs. Hannah McKay was the only other person alive that knew exactly who Dexter was and loved and accepted him anyway. Hannah was also a serial killer, who only killed bad people. Dexter loved and accepted her anyway. The writers wanted the audience to believe that Dexter would miraculously survive a hurricane and make the decision to not be with Hannah and Harrison, because he had a dark passenger. Then why would Dexter let his only son Harrison be raised by Hannah, who was also a serial killer. That doesn't make any sense. All the writers had to do in the original Dexter season finale, was to let us know that Dexter was still alive, and see him walking towards Hannah and Harrison in Argentina. The End! The writers ended the finale with Dexter going into hiding, as a lumberjack in Oregon. I thought this was the worst ending... until Dexter New Blood. They could have spared us a 10 year wait, and 10 episodes, that would conclude in an even worse season finale than the original. Dexter free and alive, is better than Dexter dead and killed by his own son that can't act. If the writers wanted Dexter dead, Dexter could have been killed by the hurricane. They could have always done a sequel with Harrison as a serial killer and spared the audience "New Blood"
New Blood begins in Iron Lake NY. We find out Dexter has been living a normal life for the past 10 years and he has not killed anyone. Dexter has been living as Jim Lindsay, he's left his dark passenger behind. Jim is living a simple and peaceful life working in a fish and game/local gun shop. Jim is in a relationship with the towns chief of police Angela. If Dexter could have lived ten years without killing anyone and leave his dark passenger behind while living in Iron Lake NY, in a relationship with Angela and her daughter Audrey, then Dexter could have lived without killing anyone, leaving his dark passenger behind, while living in Argentina in a relationship with Hannah and his own son Harrison! This is common sense.
In New Blood when Harrison's character shows up in episode 2, the series becomes unwatchable. The actor that plays Harrison, Jack Alcott cannot act, he has zero charisma. Jack is NOT believable as Dexter's son. Harrison was definitely miscast. The entire supporting cast felt low budget and unknown. It felt like they made this series in a rush, on a budget and just ran out of time in the end. The writers said they would use the 10 episodes to give fans closure and bring authenticity, by punishing Dexter. The ending does not give fans closure. It is an insult to fans.
The writers should have let Harrison leave town on the bus, or hitch a ride at the serial killer truck stop and kill off his character. Harrison was all wrong. They wrote that Hannah died of pancreatic cancer and Harrison went into foster care. That does not make sense. Harrison had half-siblings Cody and Astor? Harrison's had maternal grandparents, Rita's parents? But he still chose to find Dexter. After reading the letter Dexter had written to Hannah. Harrison knew that his dad survived the hurricane and why his dad stayed away, to protect him, from his dark passenger. "Let me die, so my son can live" Dexter also wrote that he loved and missed Harrison. Harrison arrives in Iron Lake asking "why did you abandon me?" You know why! Why can't you respect the sacrifice your dad made for 10 years to keep you safe? Why would you throw that away and put your father's life in danger, by appearing suddenly as his son, using your real name? Why after your dad brings you home and agrees to let you live with him (even though your presence threatens his very existence) go to a high school party and first thing take drugs, tell Audrey that Jim Lindsay is not your dad's real name and they don't really know who he is. Harrison keeps taking more drugs and drinks and almost died. This causes Dexter to find the dealer and stop him before he kills more kids. Why beat up your classmates? Why premeditate a murder on another student? Why break a wrestlers arm in front of the entire school? Dexter kept helping Harrison, protecting him time and time again. Dexter reveals his darkest secret to Harrison in an attempt to help him, he shared that they were both born in blood, seeing their mothers being murdered before them as children and help him understand the dark passenger and to learn how to use Harry's code.
The new series is nothing like the original series. The original Dexter was a masterpiece. The writing was brilliant, funny, captivating the audience. The plots were suspenseful and the acting was flawless. The entire cast was amazing. The finest actors in the industry. The cast of the New Blood series is low budget, unknown actors and poor writing and acting. Kurt Caldwell, is suppose to be a billionaire, that owns a local truck stop in town? He looks like a homeless man and hangs out at the truck stop talking to runaways, he offers money, food, rides and shelter, but is not ever considered a suspect when those women go missing? This prolific serial killer, didn't seem like a real genius. No match for Dexter. He liked to turn his victims into life size dolls and display them in underground trophy cases. Kurt's son, Matthew Caldwell, was responsible for killing someone during a boating accident and was never convicted of the death. Matt hunted and killed sacred animals, introducing a Native American element, that was touched on, but becomes another disjointed storyline.
In the last episode when Dexter puts Logan into a choke hold and Logan could have simply passed out, and Dexter could take the key and escape, the writers made sure Dexter murdered Logan an innocent man, so Dexter would need to be punished. The jail break wasn't even necessary. The evidence against Dexter was circumstantial and refutable in Matt Caldwell's death. Dexter may have wanted to escape being extradited to Miami, with the death penalty in the Bay Harbor Butcher case, but that evidence didn't match up either.
Michael C. Hall is a phenomenal actor. It felt like he didn't really want to reprise this role after 10 years. We knew Dexter loved Harrison as a child. Harrison read in the letter Dexter loved and missed him in the 10 year gap with Hannah. When Harrison returns, Dexter takes him into his home and tells him he loves him. When Harrison is violent and attempts to kill another person, Dexter unconditionally accepts him and tries to help him. In the final scenes when Dexter escapes and meets Harrison in the woods to leave town together, Harrison picks up a rifle and kills his dad without any hesitation, without any emotion, all because Dexter killed coach, some stranger Harrison had met weeks before? That is ridiculous writing. Harrison hacked up an innocent kid with a straight edge razor. Dexter didn't put Harrison on his table. Angela arrives witnessing Harrison holding the rifle, Dexter lying dead on the ground. Harrison admits to murdering his dad and Angela says, it's alright and tells Harrison how to leave town and evade law enforcement. Angela wipes down the murder weapon and calls in, an officer involved shooting. Harrison was not worthy to have killed Dexter (Jack Alcott's horrible acting) No one in Iron Lake was a worthy adversary. This was an insult to fans who loved this series. The writers had 10 years to write another ending. The writers have ruined Dexter forever.
They should have kept the original theme song. They should have kept Harry's voice, guiding Dexter to live by the code, not Deb's constant rants and repeatedly shouting f__k at Dexter. Where were Dexter's highly intelligent analysis and forensic research on each killer that evaded justice. Where were the inner monologues from Dexter from the original series. There were so many inconsistencies... Dexter's used M-99 in syringes to subdue victims, NOT Ketamine in New Blood. In the original Dexter they had not ever discovered weal marks on victims bodies, or evidence of M-99 in The Bay Harbor Butcher victims. The writers had Angela instantly make the connection to the Bay Harbor Butcher killings in Miami while searching the internet. Sorry that's not possible. Why is Angela trying to solve an already solved murder case from Miami Metro 1300 miles away? Angela cannot even solve her own local case of missing runaways, that involves her best friend, in her own small town. BTW without Dexter and his genius investigating you never would have solved the case! Kurt would still be killing. His son would still be killing. The drug dealer would still be causing deaths. We don't need more bad storytelling where Dexter is punished. We need Dexter to punish the monsters that escape the justice system and are free to continue killing. We need you to not write garbage that doesn't make any sense. I hope there will be at least one more season, revealing Dexter is STILL ALIVE he will wake up from the nightmare that was the entire New Blood series and this will turn out to be just a bad dream.
Reflection of You (2021)
THE ENDING DOES NOT MAKE SENSE
I was so excited about this show. I watched every episode. I was invested in the conflicts from each persons point of view. It was suspenseful and dramatic, but the resolutions in the end were not believable and were left ambiguous. I didn't root for anyone, especially Hae Won's character, she did not have any redeeming qualities.
Hee Joo and Woo Jae fell in love when he was her art teacher and she was his student. They began an affair and committed adultery, but they did not commit multiple crimes like Hae Won and Hyeon-Seong did in the name of love.
Hee Joo's husband knew about the affair and never told Hee Joo, because he had committed actual crimes that he was covering up. Those secrets gave Hae Won a way to re enter their lives. If Hee Joo had known her husband knew about the affair and he had confessed to his crime of running Woo Jae down with his car, hiding his comatose body in his hospital. If the secrets and crimes were known and they had forgiven each other or agreed to live with it and continue being a family. Hae Won would not have been able to have any effect on them.
Hae Won violently beat Hee Joo's daughter Lisa and she was hospitalized. Hae Won finds Hee Joo's house and shows up to fake apologize and reveals that she is Hannah. Hae Won keeps showing up stalking her and bringing up the past.
I felt the most compassion for Woo Jae who is a talented artist, that is run down by a car. No one knew what happened to him, or where he was for three years. He didn't have anyone by his side. When Woo Jae regains consciousness, he is discharged into Hae Won's care, who is only a wife on paper. He doesn't remember her. Woo Jae has not only lost three years of his life, but his memories. Hae Won brings Woo Jae to her house, but only to keep him under watch and track his movements through the cell phone. Hae Won refuses to help him get his memories back, lies to him, drugs him, criticizes him, humiliates him, and blames him for every misfortune in her life. Until... she can use him in the next phase of her revenge, revealing that he is alive and well at the opening of his solo art exhibit. The same art center where Hee Joo is exhibiting her artwork.
Hae Won knows that Hee Joo's husband Hyeon-Seong had confronted Woo Jae in a pub in Ireland three years earlier and then attempted to murder him by running him down with his car. Hyeon-Seong had Woo Jae taken to his families hospital. Woo Jae lay in a coma for three years and had lost his memories, while Hyeon-Seong personally appointed himself as Woo Jae's doctor. Hae Won with this knowledge, repeatedly meets up with Hyeon-Seong to commiserate about how they have been wronged by Woo Jae and Hee Joo's affair.
Hae won kidnaps Hee Joo's son Ho-Su by tricking Il- Seong to do the crime. Hae Won frames Il Seong for the kidnapping. Il Seong is arrested and convicted for the crime. Shortly after Hae Won takes legal guardianship of his only daughter Ju-Yeong.
When Woo Jae is finally able to regain his memories on his own. He is rejected, especially by the one person he believes he loves. No one apologizes for causing him pain and loss. No one is honest about what happened. No one accepts accountability, or offers compensation. No one is understanding, or shows him any compassion. When Hee Joo rejects Woo Jae for the last time giving the director of the gallery a fabricated video to end her collaboration with Woo Jae, he runs to Hee Joo to confront her. When Woo Jae realizes not only does she not want to work with him anymore. He won't be able to see her anymore. Hee Joo says that she doesn't love him anymore and that being with him was all a mistake. Woo Jae feels hopeless and sees that Hee Joo is scared of him. Woo Jae temporary goes insane, and gives her something to be scared about. Lisa stabs him in defense of her mother. Hee Joo immediately drugs her husband, cleans up the crime scene and puts Woo Jae's body in a suitcase, drives him out to her friends lake and dumps his body. Why would Hee Joo then leave her husband and children? Hee Joo would have protected Lisa from learning that she had killed Woo Jae, but also as a mother she would not have abandoned her daughter, her son and husband, to let them believe she had run away with the man she had an affair with three years earlier. She would not as a mother leave her whole family and disappear without an explanation. Let her children believe that she left them and let them be sent abroad to return and be raised by the mother in law. This would be way more traumatizing and psychologically damaging to Lisa and Hee Joo's whole family. Hee Joo would not have begged Hae Won, or made a deal with her. Instead, Hee Joo would have told her husband the truth. That she was attacked by Woo Jae and that Lisa acted in defense to save her life. Hyeon Seong would have protected them at all costs. Hee Joo and her husband Hyeon-seong are extremely wealthy and powerful. They have attorney's on stand by to dispel any accusations, or charges anyone would have leveled against them. Hee Joo said it herself. Hae Won would not have stood a chance against them. They would not serve any time. The mother in law said to the attorney "I don't care what happened, just how we will fix it. Hypothetically speaking, Hee Joo had disposed of the body and cleaned up the crime scene, so no one could have proven Woo Jae was even dead. Hae Won produced a small razor with blood on it that she claimed to have found at Hee Joo's studio, they could have easily argued that Lisa was known to be a cutter, with many old and new cuts on her thighs. They could have just said Woo Jae had witnessed her doing this and tried to stop her and it cut his hand, explaining his blood. It didn't make sense that Hee Joo would suddenly give up after all that she had done to protect her family. It is not believable! It's unrealistic to believe that her husband, Hyeon-seong would have just let his wife disappear either. Hyeon-seong would have immediately hired private investigators to find her. He would have tracked her down to the ends of the earth. Hyeon-seong would not believe a text from Hae Won's cell phone about his wife's whereabouts. Hyeon-seong knew Hae Won was always scheming to punish Hee Joo and Woo Jae. He would never have believed anything Hae Won said. Hyeon-seong would have immediately checked the properties security cameras (as he had done in the past) and find out exactly where his wife went to that night. Hee Joo, Woo Jae, Hae Won and Lisa all went into the art studio and only Hee Joo, Lisa and Hae Won came out. Hyeon-seong would have known that something happened to Woo Jae.
Does the main character Hee joo
then decide after two years of being in hiding, to commit suicide in that last scene at the same place that she had dumped Woo Jae's body in the lake? That is preposterous.
Hae Won is stabbed in the street by the father Il- Seong that she had framed for kidnapping and taking his daughter. Hae Won doesn't die, she instead becomes a successful painter as Hannah and after two years will debut her first solo art exhibit. This was awful writing. Hae Won should of had to pay for all of her her crimes and Hyeon-Seong too.
Move to Heaven (2021)
ONE OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN
The acting by this cast is brilliant. The stories are significant, inspiring, emotional and completely satisfying. It shook my heart from beginning to end. This series gives reverence and dignity to the living and the dead. It makes me want to have a yellow box worth collecting after I am gone. If only there was a business that would clean and clear out our possessions after we pass away with such compassion, awareness, intuition, intelligence, grace and interest to find our stories and be able to share them with the ones we love after we are gone, this world would be a better place. The writers did a great job with every character's storyline. The young man being on the spectrum, could have the ability to be more organized and focused, have an almost eidetic memory, be determined to complete tasks and make meaningful connections. The guardian is portrayed as rough and tough on the outside, but we learn about the traumas he has endured and experienced throughout his life. We see how we might judge people based on first impressions, but once the whole story is revealed, all of the perceptions will change. The guardian becomes one of my favorite characters. The neighbor is a young woman who is determined to protect her friend that she has loved since they were 6 years old. She is courageous and resolute in this purpose. These three people become the perfect trio to run the business. The father lives for his son. He loves his family more than his own life and is the ideal father, husband and human being. The entire cast is brilliant and interesting. I hope the whole world will watch this series and think about their loved ones and connect with them and communicate how they feel, so they will not have to live, or die with regrets.

SEASON 2 IN PARIS
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! I hope there will be a Season 2 in Paris! It would be really beautiful aesthetically and a great storyline. The lead actors are rising stars. It's a drama about talented young twenty something art students learning from mistakes made from the inexperience of youth. It feels authentic and real. You feel the emotional pain they carry from failures with family, friends and mentors. The intimate scenes beauty and emotion was magnified by the director's close up camera shots. I like the mood of the soundtrack, especially Dream No. 24. The entire ensemble cast was interesting. I hope the cast is proud to have made this series. I am thankful to have watched it. It doesn't matter how this series is critiqued. It is art. Experience it for yourself, or experience something else. I just watched it again and I like it even more!

EPIC LOVE STORY
I fell in love with this story. It is original and deeply moving. The actors are so incredibly talented! The cinematography is spectacular. It's filmed in Switzerland, but you will feel like you are in North Korea and South Korea. I felt the main characters love so deeply that my heart ached. Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin are phenomenal lead actors. The supporting cast was perfection. This story about an heiress from South Korea landing on an Army officer in North Korea was inspired by an actual event where an actress and three friends accidentally strayed into waters between North and South Korea by boat in the fog. This series is more fantasy than reality. It is an epic love story.

YOU WILL LOVE THIS!
I look forward to watching every new episode. I feel warm and comforted by the story they are telling. I look forward to spending time with this cast week after week. It is the perfect ensemble cast. The cinematography is gorgeous in the seaside village of Gongjin. Hye-Jin and Du-sik have unbelievable chemistry and when they smile, huge dimples. The whole cast is an extended family and community. This heartwarming story will make you smile and laugh out loud and sometimes bring you to tears. I loved it.
