Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Tarantino's Best Work
Inglorious Basterds is one of my all time favorite movies, right up there with Pulp Fiction and The Godfather. It is brilliantly written, directed, and acted (Christoph Waltz and Melanie Laurent are incredible.) All the main characters have depth and their true manipulations don't fully come to light until the climax. Language barriers play a major part in this film with French, German and English all spoken regularly throughout the film, and Tarantino's decision to change history will always be remembered for years and years to come.
Westworld: Les Écorchés (2018)
Full of Twists and Turns
This was the first episode of Westworld that truly had me on the edge of my seat with anxiousness. After the events of the first 20 minutes, I began to realize that none of the characters were safe. When the credits finally rolled, I sighed in relief as some of my favorite characters were now safe (for another week at least). This episode also saw Anthony Hopkins return to the show. Since I only expected a singular scene with Anthony Hopkins last week, I was gladdened when I discovered that he'll be sticking around for awhile. Needless to say, I cannot wait for episode eight to air next week. This show has completely outdone itself.
Westworld: The Riddle of the Sphinx (2018)
One of the strongest episodes to date!
These first few episodes were just setup, you can really see that the season two story arcs truly begin here. While only a few of the main characters appeared, this episode persisted with phenomenal writing, visuals, and the first major twist of season two!
