Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake (2022)
An awful tragedy, with some awful human beings.
Whilst this is an interesting look at the events, I cannot help to notice how Western focused this is... Barry anything is mentioned on the 9000 who lost their lives.
Having to also listen to how the group of Israeli men justify their awful decisions made me truly sick.
I do wonder wonder what the director was thinking at times... Either tel one story or the other, so not shoe horn the tragedy of the locals with the climbers on the mountain. I really do not know what message was trying to be conveyed here, are we to show sympathy for some of the most selfish people I have seen on camera? We should be ashamed.
Silicon Valley: Exit Event (2019)
I really loved this show, but the end crushed me.
I loved this show, really. At times throughout its life it did get frustrating to see the gang rise to such heights and then fall due to some unforeseen error on their part.
I guess the final is fitting in this way. However, it left a real sour taste in my mouth. I was hoping it was all a parody. We should finally see the success and end that we were all longing for...
I'm not sure if any else feels like this, but it left me sad and cheated.
And what is with the cut at the end? It doesn't even seem like a cliffhanger..
Maid (2021)
Can be slow, but the acting is phenomenal
While the story maybe slow at times, the acting here is phenomenal. Each character brings something special and Alex is a real driver here, the mother daughter relationship between Alex, her mother and her daughter is beautiful.
Ted Lasso: Inverting the Pyramid of Success (2021)
A big let down from Season 1
Season 2 really doesn't hold a candle to 1. Ted is sparsely featured, football non existent. Not sure what they were thinking. I thought it would be just the first few episodes and we would gain more traction in the football side, but nope...
Free Guy (2021)
This film has something to say
I really feel this film has a great take on what reality is. Some takes on what characters say in regarding what the purpose of life is.
However the fourth wall of YouTubers reacting is a bit pants.
James Acaster: Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 (2020)
Start with his Netflix Special.
His Netflix special of 4 shows over previous years is clearly his best work. I love this man and this new content is more humbling and closer to his heart clearly. Great work as always but if you are expecting similar outlandish hypothetical scrapes this isn't it.
Edit: I put this on again the next day and have now bumped my score to 9. It definitely has a deeper meaning and is more of a cohesive routine than his others. I 'challenge' you to watch it again.
Moon (2009)
Masterpiece
Always will be one of the best space, isolation movies Created
Greenland (2020)
This is a family drama, there are two explosions
What a bore. Such an excuse for a disaster film, my god, the writing and tropes are awful. Please skip this one
Last Christmas (2019)
This is so shockingly bad
I am dumbfounded how this is even considered a good movie, the screenplay, script and characters are so bland and the story is so preposterously stupid I came out of the cinema speechless at how shocking this movie truly was. To date the worst movie I have ever seen at the cinema. This women is truly truly delusion. It's not love in the slightest.
The Perfection (2018)
Seriously steer clear of this grotesque monster
Overly grotesque, extremely bizarre cinematography between acts, just an absolute mess of a terrible film
