Murderville (2022)
Ugh...
I had such high hopes for this. Absolutely love every person in it. I mean, even Jennifer Aniston shows up! In reality, it feels forced and just unfunny. Such a shame - the talent is outstanding. Hard pass on the rest of the episodes.
Them (2021)
Lost Me in the Middle
I LOVED this series at the start. It presented what seems like a fairly accurate portrayal of blacks moving out west (The Great Migration.) That's a topic I haven't seen much about and didn't really know much about Compton's history before watching this. Add in the horror aspect and I was hooked. Halfway through, it just got a little too strange/boring for me. The horror part wasn't very scary and the drama part went a little over the top. Did I hate it? Not at all. On the other hand, I didn't love it either. I'm kinda left in the middle - unsure what to say about it. Thus, I give it an exactly equal 5 stars to match my thoughts.
Blood Fest (2018)
Better than expected
So I think I've watched 95% of all horror movies ever made in my 46 years. Nothing really gets me excited anymore with horror movies and I rarely can watch the new movies til the end...they are that bad. This movie was a hidden gem. Not groundbreaking horror or anything but it kept my interest the entire movie. Worth the watch if you're like me and looking for something interesting cause you've already seen it all.
Sneaky Pete (2015)
Cancelled!!!????
For several years now, I've been bypassing Sneaky Pete on Amazon. Maybe it's what I thought it would be about or just found the story line uninteresting. I don't know but I finally decided to watch it and I LOVE IT! I think a lot of people are eventually going to do the same as me and wish it weren't cancelled. Guess I will just enjoy it til I get to episode 30. 😭
Hell House LLC (2015)
Much better than expected!
I had very low expectations for this movie but gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised! Lots of jumps and eye-covering moments throughout the movie. I'd say give it more than the news clips/Blair Witch shaking screen/documentary moments at the beginning. It gets pretty good when they actually show the "found footage." Well worth your time if you're a horror fan.
The Open House (2018)
What could have been...
Wasn't terrible until about the last 20 minutes. Man, oh man, did this movie go from a solid C+ to an F in those last minutes. It's like someone just gave up on writing the storyline and decided a serial killer would do. Huh? No tie-in to the entire movie and then he just moves on to the next "open house?" Really, really silly. If I could give this movie a zero, I would. And, that zero would 100% be due to the ending. Sad, because most of the movie was watchable until the ending.
Please, I beg you, trust me and the others who say DO NOT WATCH IT!
