Possibly the Wokest Show of all Time
27 July 2022
This is possibly the wokest show ever made. It also bears no relationship whatsoever to the original. It's not even set in the same location.

Some examples of the wokeness:

-Within the first couple minutes of the first episode, a girl mentions that guys make 17% more than women for the same job.

-There is one of the main schoolkid characters, who is G. He wants a gender neutral bathroom. Many episodes feature him looking for G love.

-There are every race of character in the school, so much so that white is not predominant at all. It is very noticeable and unnatural seeming.

-There is a running debate over whether cancel culture is good or bad. Much more screen time is devoted to why it is good. In fact, I only recall hearing arguments for why it is good (There are consequences for one's actions).

-The main teacher character is a Hispanic woman, rather than a white male, such as was in the original.

So anyways, the show is not funny at all. It feels fairly typical for a Disney Channel show. However, the woke thing stands out strongly, differentiating it somewhat. It doesn't even feel like an actual show so much, as an indoctrination tool. It is guaranteed to be a failure.

Most of the Reviews Didn't Even Watch One Full Episode...Still They Aren't Entirely Wrong
5 June 2022
It is pretty annoying when almost every review I read didn't even last one episode, and the first episode was actually decent. Most of what they complain about is that they say it's cheap looking and bad acting.

It is sort of cheap looking, but better than most now days. I think the ships and futuristic stuff actually looks fairly good. It isn't shown enough though. I suppose it would be too expensive. So, in that regard it could be said to be cheap, I guess. Still, it is better looking than most other CW crap.

The acting is actually pretty good. I have found that when people don't actually have anything useful to say, in their reviews, they always complain about the acting. It is more a reflection of the deficiencies of the reviewer. It is sort of typical light hearted, teen fantasy, soap opera, type acting, with a little comedy thrown in. It's not bad. It's similar to The Librarians level of acting, having one of the actors even, from that series, and behind the scenes talent as well, from that show.

So, now for a real review:

The story started out well enough, and even seemed intriguing. There had been a space war between to factions, Earth's alliance had won. So the show is set in a sort of Military space college, except the students don't seem to be military at all. In fact, they act like they are in an episode of Porkys or Animal House. Well, not that bad. But they don't really seem to be doing school work very often, and definitely don't follow any rules or protocols. They mainly just hang out in a bar, and flirt. It's alright, but definitely not military, like the show tries to imply. I mean there is the son of the leader of the alien aliance that Earth had been at war with, as a student and buddy of the main characters. There are soldiers everywhere, and military leaders, as teachers. They have space ship flying lessons for the students. Yeah, idk. Bad writing. There is alot of that in this show, which is it's main fault.

The main plot seems sort of good. New aliens appear and attack. The main girl seems to be somehow related to the aliens. It's a big mystery that you are hoping will get solved. Keep hoping. Not quite done with season 1, but it is no where near being solved even a little. It just sort of stays in the background. As I say, the writing is very off.

It really feels like it was written by tween girls. That's the show's focus. The main actress, for one thing, is immediately important, by her DNA. She doesn't know it, but she sure acts like it. She constantly steals space ships from the school. No, she doesn't get in any trouble for that. She starts a diplomatic incident, by barging in on a diplomatic lecture, with protesters. Of course she is the leader, and the one who chases off the diplomat. (of a very unstable military alliance, I might add). No she doesn't get in trouble. But she does steal a space ship, and fly to the guy's planet, to invade it, save the slaves, and rescue her friend. No. Her stolen ship doesn't get detected by radar, entering a foreign, somewhat hostile planet. Yes her crew do kill alot of the slaves they were so worried about. Yes she is the hero, in every situation. Yes. There are no consequences whatsoever for all the ridiculous things she does. It truly is like it was written for 12 year old girls. The philosophy is that deep, and no deeper. The writing is the same. Now I realize how SJWs became that way. They watched like this, growing up.

It's not all bad though, if you can get past the often terrible writing. It is somewhat fun. I kind of like the chemistry between the different characters. It's sort of light hearted, with spurts of comedy. I think the special effects are tolerable. I even like the actors. The writing is so bad though, I'll keep forcing myself to watch it, till I can't take it anymore. For now I'll give it a 5, caus that entitled Mary Sue, without any consequences really pisses me off. Otherwise I might have given it a 7 or 8.

Pretty Funny, But Full of Woke Brainwashing
3 June 2022
This is the second time I will attempt to review this, since the first review was denied (99% of my reviews are denied or deleted if they make it through). So, I can't actually say all the various types of woke programming interspersed throughout this series. But, it is alot. Just know that. You wont see on here the actual reason this show has a 5 star rating. People will likely be confused by the reviews that did make it.

Other than that it is pretty funny. The characters get into some zany and dangerous animal encounters, similar to a Crocodile Hunter type. That does bring up one thing I disliked about the show though. There seems to be no consequences, at all, for the dangerous things they do, often being mauled viciously by animals, and then being totally fine afterwards. They out fight lions, out run every type of animal, out swim crocodiles, etc... All the while claiming '"If you need a gun out here, you don't belong out here." Of course not, if there are no dangers whatsoever to actually worry about.

Another issue I have with the show is that it really seems like a kids show, but it has tons of adult sexual humor. I can tolerate or even enjoy that type of humor. It's just confusing because it really comes across as a kids educational show. So, that's suspicious.

Anyways, it's tolerable, for a one time view. The more you watch it though, the more the woke programming sticks out. Actually, it is pretty intolerable.

Toast of London US Edition
24 May 2022
It's good. It's basically Toast of London, moved to the US. It is even more surreal and zany, if you can even imagine that. Lol I like it.

It was crazy seeing Doon Mackichan, as his Jewish American agent. It's pretty fuuny. I love her in almost everything she does, and it's no different here. Once again she pushes the limits of what you think she can do.

Matt Berry is the same as always, which is good. I love him in everything too. He is at his best here, better than in What We Do in the Shadows.

Anyways, if you like Toast of London, or any of the actors, check it out. You wont be dissapointed.

Murder, They Hope: The Bunny Trap (2021)
Season 1, Episode 1

Pretty good....But
24 May 2022
This was pretty good, albeit a bit more nonsensical even than some of the previous ones. I love this series in general. However, there does seem to be an increase in the amount of murderers they don't turn in, and even shelter.

Other than that, it is fairly typical of this series. There is no longer a bus though, or any passengers. I do miss that aspect. Now the star couple are private investigators. I guess that is to be expected. How many murders can these guys logically encounter as a bus tour, even in a spoof comedy. The private investigator angle does seem like a natural evolution.

My one main gripe, as is common for English TV shows, there is a married gay couple. I notice this in extremely high numbers in English TV shows. It's a pet peeve of mine. I quit most shows that even have it. And, thanks to TV I have completely changed my stance on it, from supportive to completely opposed. Thanks TV for helping me make up my mind.

Old Dark House, On a Bus
23 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't see this until now (2022). Compared to other films, of this period, it is like a breath of fresh air. It really just reminds me of how horrible films are now days, when compared to films from before. I think this one came out in 2017.

Anyways, this is a really good comedy mystery. It is in the style of classic mysteries, even old dark house films, like the type where people keep getting picked off, and you have to figure out who the killer is. It is very light hearted, which I like alot. It is almost like a funny and pleasant version of Murder She Wrote, which wasn't pleasant or good. Lol

The actors were all very good, and enjoyable. I think they were all perfectly cast, for their roles. I strongly recommend this for any mystery lovers. This has all the elements of that genre, along with a health does of comedy.

Halo (2022– )

Fairly Bad Ass. Amazing Visuals
22 April 2022
Finally a movie or show, based on a video game, that is made properly. You can tell that this series has a big budget. This is probably the first film or series I can think of that feels right. It perfectly goes along with the games (I played Halo 1 & 2).

(btw...I've watched 5 episodes, all that have been released, so far.) Pros:

Visuals- I can tell that they put alot of money into this. The visuals are amazing, much better than expected. The Covenant are awesome, very true to the game. The ships, cities, and space are awesome too, Even the hairstyles and fashion of the different types of people are good. It has that sort of HBO or big budget look to it.

Story/ Pacing- This is very hood too. Once again it has a sort of big budget feel to it. However, it is not quite as stuffy as some, or as profound. However, it is very captivating. Even though I had known the Halo story basically, the show shows me things I didn't know or even realize that I'd want to know (such as the invention of Cortana, or the background of the Spartans). There is alot of military and political intrigue in the show, in a good way.

Characters- I like them all so far. They all fit their roles. They are all good looking, in their own ways.

Game Connection- The Covenant are just bad ass. I see all the familiar characters from the game. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the game, while watching. Actually, it makes me want to play badly. The UNSC forces, weapons, vehicles, and Spartans, are very true to the game, as well.

Cons:

I don't really have any cons. A few of the plot points had me worried, that I'd dislike them. However, I think those actually went into a better direction than I thought they would. So, that is not a problem.

Wokeness- I worried about this. I saw some reviews even, that complained about this. I mean, it is present, I guess. There are many female Spartans. There is race mixing couples. There is just about every nationality and race, all mixed together, in every area There are Asian revolutionaries,But, believe me, it is not bad. It's easy to overlook, and I am strongly opposed to "woke" programming. There race, sex, or nationality is part of them, so I wouldn't change anything, in that regard. I'm not against different sexes or races. But, I do see how someone might bring that up. Sometimes it is very forced feeling, or unrealistic. Perhaps that could be said here. But, whatever. It's okay.

Some might also complain about the anti-government or government corruption angle. F##k that. That is the only way I see the government. I think it's totally realistic.

Spartan Saviors- This is the one thing that annoyed me. It's like the guns of the regular people don't work against the aliens. The bullets just have no effect. That is unless a Spartan picks up one of their guns. Then it kills the aliens. The Spartans can also punch the enemies to death or use makeshift melee objects. I don't think there is one scene of a regular person killing one though, or even other soldiers killing one. So, that is actually very annoying. It almost feels like brainwashing. Only the elite military is capable of killing anything. So, for this reason I'll take off 1 point.

So anyways. I recommend this show strongly to any fans of the game, or for sci-fi or space opera lovers. I really can't understand any review that is below an 8. Also, right now it's a hot topic. Everyone I know is watching it and talking about it.

It's a Good Comedy, With Heart
17 April 2022
This is a pretty good comedy. I started watching it today, and watched the entire season. That's saying something. Many shows I start, and either don't finish at all, or else I watch a few episodes and come back to it later. Actually, I probably will rewatch it tonight and see how I feel about rewatching episodes. As it stands, I reccomend it.

It is a very wierd setting, animals in a therapy group. Lol I suspect that this aspect was added because Lisa Kudrow seems to appear in shows about therapy. Idk why. Lol Anyways, her voice is one of the stand out characters on the show, the main character's voice. She does a really good job. I hadn't even realized she was in this show, when I began watching it. But, I began to realize it, and looked it up, and yep, it was Lisa Kudrow. Having grown up watching Friends, it was good to hear her again.

I also like the other characters, though I am unfamiliar with their voice actors. All the different animals, and their interactions are funny and enjoyable.

Also, even the strange therapy angle is quite good and enjoyable. It is very unusual and unexpected, really. However, it works.

I am kind of surprised to see the somewhat lower than expected score on this show. Bob's Burgers has a much higher rating than this, and is far less enjoyable than this show. So yeah, I am surprised by that.

I like the characters, stories, animation style. I can't really think of anything I dislike about this show. Throughout the first season I was prepared to complain about the coyote and dog relationship. I was going to say that coyotes would kill a dog or vice versa. However, the last episode covers that. So, my one potential complaint was dealt with properly. Therefore, I have no complaints.

Ten Year Old Tom (2021–2023)

The Life and Times of Tim Revisited
17 April 2022
This is basically The Life and Times of Tim, as children. However, that shows main fault is that it is an office workplace comedy. This show avoids that fault, because here Tim/Tom is a ten year old child.

In the Life and Times of Tim, I thought that I liked his co-star or best friend. However, I like his friend in this alot better. This series is just much more enjoyable and rewatchable than the Tim show. I suspect that his friend in each show is part of the reason I like this one better.

But, basically this is the exact same show as The Life and Times of Tim. If you have seen that show, just imagine the characters taken back to the age of 10, and you know what to expect from this show.

It is definitely worth watching, and worth rewatching. I am looking forward to more episodes. I have rewatched these ones to death. Lol I reccomend this show. At least for a one time watch, if not more.

Quite good ultra-violence
17 April 2022
This show just manages to be likeable. It has that ensemble feeling. Like a small group of main characters that just clicks together, like in Futurama.

It also has a futuristic setting, such as Futurama. However, this is a post apocalyptic wasteland setting, such as in Mad Max. It is an unexpected setting for a comedy cartoon, but it works. I hadn't thought of it before, but now I'd like to see more comedies in this type of setting. I think this could be an under developed genre.

Some other users have mentioned it, but it does have a sort of Rick and Morty vibe to it, mainly because the main characters voice is very similar to the voice from Rick and Morty. There is also alot of gory violence, which is also similar to that show, as well as the art style. Actually, it pretty much is ripping off that show.

However, the story is totally different, which is good, so it does stand on its own.

I really like the voice actress of Lhandi (Kayla Lorette). Idk why. But, she is definitely my favorite character. Without her, I probably would have a very different opinion of this show. She is what does it for me. She is so funny, and sort of innocent and relatable seeming. And yet, she is somewhat sophisticated and not quite so innocent seeming. So, even though she is innocent seeming, she doesn't get shocked by things, that one would expect someone to be shocked by, someone such as Morty. It works for her. As I said, she is the stand out character on this show.

Anyways, the show is quite violent and a bit mean spirited, similar to Rick and Morty. Some might not like that, and usually I don't really like it. But, the character of Lhandi helps balance it out, with her niceness and innocence. So, the show ends up being a little easier to take than the nihilism seen on other violent shows like Rick and Morty, or SuperJail. I reccomend it.

It's addictive
17 April 2022
I don't know why, but this show is just addictive. I kind of was annoyed by the liberal seeming lean to this show. However, it is still totally enjoyable and addictive to watch. I've rewatched most of the episodes multiple times. Every time I am slightly annoyed by the left leaning or millenial seeming plot points. However, every time I still enjoy watching, and keep watching.

The interplay between the main characters is one of the shows strong points. They have good dialogue and chemistry. I also like each of them individually. I particularly like the main detective guy.

I remember reading about The Venture Brothers, which John Hodgman has appeared in. For that show, the creators had said that it was a show about failure. I feel like that applies here too. The characters are believable. They are not some all together characters. They are struggling in this world. I think that makes them more relatable.

Along the same lines, that makes me root for their success, over the course of the show. I am watching them grow, similar to The Venture Brothers. They have failures and successes, gaining inch by inch, a sense of of their selves. Maybe that is why it is so addictive. Even though each episode is a self contained story (I'm very grateful for that.), their is a sense of character growth.

The animation style is really good. I really like the animation.

Also, it just absurd, in general. Overall, I strongly recommend it, while at the same time it does make me wish for the death of Millennials and Gen Z types, which the show seems to embrace. Most of their clients are these types. I hate most of their clients. Lol I do suspect that the main characters also sort of hate them. Even though they do imply a few times their left leaning nature, insulting white males, embracing gender fluid cross dressers, and insulting Nazis.

Even with all those things, which I disagree with, I still really like this show. That is saying alot. Because, I am not usually willing to overlook those types of things. So, the show must be really good in other ways. And it is.

Kind of cool, Kind of not
17 April 2022
I was blown away by the first episode. I love conspiracy related stuff. This show is all about that. Most of what they joke about, I already post real videos about. So, I was really excited after the first episode. And, it keeps going with that type of stuff.

However, I was beginning to get a j vibe. Idk why. I don't recall it ever saying anything about that, However, the woman in charge thing is a hint. I looked up the main actress on here though, and yep. It says she was raised i a J household. That in itself would be fine. But, as I said, I was getting a vibe that this show was like that. If the vibe was so strong that it made me aware of it, then it's way too much for me.

Anyways, I watched a few episodes and just drifted away from it. So, take it as you will. It has all the right elements and a bit too much of the wrong vibe. It has some good humor too. So, I don't know why, I just didn't really feel like continuing to watch it.

Surprisingly I don't like it
17 April 2022
I really expected to like this show. I almost always like adult animation. H. John Benjamin is one of my favorite voice actors, because of great roles in series such as Dr. Katz, Home Movies, Archer, etc.. I like Kristen Schaal.

However, it is just not funny or even entertaining enough to follow a single episode. I don't know what is the problem, but I have tried to watch it many many times, and every time I zone out and completely lose the plot. By the end I don't even know what is going on. I don't even need to get into the J thing, which is a big turn off for me. But, it is present. I'm just not sure if that is part of its main problem. I just can't stay interested enough to even follow the plot, even with some of my favorite actors being involved.

Not any sort of comedy-so so drama
16 October 2020
Man. I ma really getting sick of downloading movies labeled as comedies on here, only to find that they are not any sort of comedy, what-so-ever. This film is a perfect example of that. This absolutely, definitely, positively not a comedy in any sort of way. I am pretty angry right now, having just this moment finished this mediocre slightly scary drama. I rarely watch new movies. But, I sometimes make an exception when one is labeled as a "comedy/horror", as this one was.

Anyways, besides what I have just mentioned, it did seem like it might be an okay horror. And, even while watching most of it, I thought that's what I was getting. But, by the end you realize it is basically not even that. It turns out it is basically an extended cop drama with an emphasis on the main guy's mental and home life problems. Puke.

Besides all of those weaknesses, the film is pretty watchable and okay. The visuals are good. It is relatively scary. The visuals are good. And, it does have a little blood. But, by the end, I can't help but feeling angry and betrayed.

The Tick (2016–2019)
6/10
barely tolerable.
17 May 2020
Okay, I absolutely loved the original cartoon. I also really like the 2001 live action show. This one I've been watching. I'm on the 2nd season. It is okay. It does have really good special effects and video quality.

I guess my main complaint is that they took every good part of the original and got rid of it. Then they replaced it with cliche super hero action. There's very little humor, though there is some. There's one long story, instead of episodic. Because of that, the whole series seems like filler. When oh when will they realize that people want episodic stories that end in one episode. Is there some type of college class labelled How to Ruin Television, that everyone is taking nowadays?

Giant Monsters: One of the best things of the original was the giant monsters. There was a tiny bit of that in this show. But really almost nothing.

Action: One of the great things of the original was the action. There's very little action in this show.

Humor: The original, as well as the 2001 remake, were both hilarious. The humor is very minor in this series.

Continuity: The original was so groundbreaking because of the continuity. Like when ChairHead tried to carve his name on the moon. That remained on the moon for the entire series. Or when the moon broke. That stayed too. Well I can't really say if this series has that or not. Because 2 seasons of this series is like one episode of the original, so not enough time is passing for any continuity.

Anyways, the show is okay. I find myself checking my clock whenever I watch it. Or, fast forwarding past the many many scenes of people talking and not doing anything. It's tolerable for a comedy superhero starved populace, but overall it's not great.

Very smart and entertaining film
26 April 2020
I was not expecting to like this film. A film about rich yuppy hipsters in art galleries, what? I have had a fair amount of experience in this scene, and I generally hate it, and most of the people involved.

That being said, I absolutely loved this movie. It's a real credit to the movie that I would enjoy it, while hating it's main setting. But boy did I enjoy it.

It's a very smart film. The dialog is smart and witty. The characters all act in a very realistic way. These characters are all just like the ones I used to know (except substantially richer). This film really captures the art scene perfectly.

The cinematography is next level. It's very beautifully filmed. It almost has a Dario Argento type feel to it. At many points in the film I was reminded of Tenebre. Maybe it's just the stylish rich places. idk Either way, the cinematography was one of the highlights for me. You can tell alot of money was put into just this aspect.

As for the story: It was good and the ending really unexpected. I didn't know anything about this film going into it. I didn't even know the genre. So, throughout most of the movie it just seemed to be a dark comedy about the art world. Then, all of a sudden, I found myself in a full on horror film. Wow! I did not see that coming. But, that's probably my fault for not realizing what genre I was watching. I loved it though. Oh, and the story about the artists. I loved that too. Which, once again, I need to say that I dislike these types of people and the art gallery scene. But, the story was just so engaging and well written. I couldn't help but be pulled in.

Humor: The humor is really subtle here. It's definitely a dark comedy. And, it's very funny. But, there aren't alot of jokes or anything. It's subtle smart humor. It probably helps if you know the character types they are parodying. In my case I did.

Horror: This was good too. Though it doesn't try to get in the way of the story. It's more like the cherry on top of a delicious sunday. But, don't get me wrong, the horror aspect is an essential part of the overall story too. It is scary though. And at least once there was some pretty dramatic gore.

PC gays: It has some gay people. But, unlike most movies where they are obviously added to be PC. Here that isn't the case at all. I mean, the film is set in the world of art galleries. Of course there are going to be gay people. lol

Anyways, final verdict: This movie blew me away. I consider it one of those rare gems that you might stumble upon after months of wading through mediocre crap. If you have some intelligence and wish to see a truly great horror/ black comedy check this out.

Zombeavers (2014)
9/10
It's good
19 April 2020
I guess there isn't much I need to say about this. With the title, you really do know what you are getting into. zombie beavers. lol

I will say this, the production values are much better than I expected. Actually they are very good. The cinematography is very good. Even the zombie beavers look good.

That brings me to the humor. Actually, there really isn't any. The story plays it straight. Everything is serious and not silly at all. But, this actually makes it hilarious whenever you see the beavers, or they attack. Every beaver attack I couldn't help but burst out laughing. Seeing little zombie beavers attacking people, or flying through the air. It is so funny. :D And then later, some human zombies had beaver teeth, and even a bear with beaver teeth. Pretty funny stuff :D

It's nice too that they used practical effects for the beavers. I don't think it would have worked with only CGI. I'm sure they probably used some CGI, but if so it wasn't noticeable to me.

The characters were okay. They seemed pretty realistic types. Not really realistic for sorority girls, as some of the members were. But, that is a staple of the genre, sorority girls in horror. Anyways, the just mentioned sorority girls are smokin hot, and sometimes nude. 8O

So anyways, check this out if you're into horror creature features. You definitely wont be disappointed.

Instant Classic :D
16 April 2020
I didn't watch this movie for a long time, mainly because of its low rating on here. Also, some bad reviews on here. Well, I just finished watching it, and I'm just flabbergasted that anyone could rate this badly. This is a really really great movie. It's the best thing I've seen in years. It kinda reminds me of a Troma movie, but with better production values.

It's very politically incorrect, which is so right on. I didn't even realize anyone made movies like this anymore. I thought they were all too cowardly, now days. But, it seems here we have some brave film makers.

The acting was really good, in my opinion. I mean, it's comedy acting. So, that's different than serious acting. But, it was very good for comedy acting. The main girl was especially good, and hot. :D

The humor was laugh out loud funny. The humor had a very Troma like vibe. It kind of reminded me of Terror Firmer or The Toxic Avenger. But, then mix in Not Another Teen Movie. And, there's alot of humour. This movie isn't meant to be taken seriously. But, it's not stupid at all. The story still feels important too, and you are rooting for the main characters and their necrophiliac romance. Oh yeah, this movie has necrophilia too. See, awesome!!!

Another thing that reminds me of Troma is the nudity. :D So much nudity! But, no this isn't a softcore spoof film like The Bare Wench Project . Here the nudity is humorous. It often is the joke. I get it. I love it. :D

Anyways, the movie is really fun and enjoyable. I strongly recommend it. This film has definitely earned a place in my classics collection. And, if you happen to be tokin up at the same time, well then even better. That's how I viewed it :)-~

Good, Action, Sci-Fi...
9 April 2020
I don't really see why some other reviews gave this a 1 star. I thought it was pretty good. It really captured the feel of the game. I didn't see the other Doom movie. So, I can't compare them. But to me this movie was good. It is a pretty typical action sci-fi. But, is that a bad thing? Of course, it also has alot of horror. Basically, Aliens stalking humans on a space station. I love that genre. :D

The movie seems quite true to the game in alot of ways. The look is very similar to the game (at least Doom 3, which is what I remember playing). The sort of colored hallways, cards to open doors, portals, the BFG, there's Easter Eggs everywhere. So, unlike what some others have said, I think this was made by people who loved the game.

Anyways, this movie will definitely entertain you. The effects are good. The monsters are good. The zombies are good. The cinematography is good. It's all good. I wouldn't call it one of the greatest movies ever though. But, definitely worth a watch, especially for fans of the game.

Space Opera Yumminess :D
4 April 2020
So, I just finished episode 4, (haven't finished the whole 1st series yet) and I have to say it's pretty freakin good so far. This is the type of space sci-fi that I like. Basically the whole series so far has been on either a space ship or an alien planet. Got to love that.

Basically the series has Katee Sackhoff and crew flying through space on the way to an alien planet, because of some alien artifact that landed on Earth. I have no idea what they are planning to actually do, once they get there. But, the fun of the series seems to be the adventures they have on the way. Each episode so far, they encounter a different catastrophe. So that's the basic premise of the show.

The good:

Space Effects: These are very good. The ship is awesome. It has like, rings around a ship. I think that's a a very cool idea. They are probably held together with some sort of electromagnetic field of some sort. The planets, and stars, and moons, they encounter are cool too; both from space and from the ground.

Acting: The acting is quite good also. It's very melodramatic. But ,it's great for Katee Sackhoff. She is good at this type of acting. The rest of the crew has won me over too. I admit that at first I didn't like most of them. But, I do now.

Story: The story and sub-stories have totally kept my interest so far (mainly the sub-stories). I've seen seen others saying the pace is too fast. I don't feel that way. I hate slow paced shows. I have other things to do. I like that this just gets on with it. There's always something life threatening going on with this show. lol

The bad:

I don't really have anything bad to say. I'm pretty much enjoying every aspect so far.

Final verdict:

It's quite a good space-opera. Check it out.

The Hunt (II) (2020)

Better Than its Rating
25 March 2020
Just finished this horror comedy film. I think it was quite good. I wasn't expecting much, considering it was a recently made film, most of which suck out loud. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It's just the right amount of comedy and horror.

It is basically a take on The Most Dangerous Game. Alot of people wake up, with no memory of how they got there, and then begin to get hunted. It's got some good gore, and the kill count is high.

I think the best part is the final girl. I don't know why, but I just love her accent. And, even though the movie has it that the whole tweaker thing was a mistake. She basically is a tweaker. Gotta love that, the only sane people in America right now. (lol) Anyways, this chick is a bad ass. Pretty much a Mary Sue, but that's okay. Someone had to be the hero.

I see alot of people on here complained about the left right divide, in this movie. idk. It didn't bother me, and I hate all those f##kers. I'm equally overjoyed seeing left wingers or right wingers bite it. (lol) Though, I think, despite what they say in the movie, that it really was more about class warfare. It was all rich people hunting poor people. If that's the only difference between left and right, and the left are the rich, then F##k it, kill all the left. >.< I think there is one thing that all people agree with, we will take down the rich, any chance we get.

Ridiculously Good
8 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
First off let me just say 'This is a great movie.'. The cinematography, the acting, the characters, the hotel, the back stories, they're all great. I can not recommend this movie enough.

There was very little to not like in this movie. But there was one thing, that I really really didn't like. I didn't like the whole thing about the cult. It was stupid as hell. But, it would have been tolerable as a back story. However it didn't remain as a back story. It spilled into the present (the story's present). Then it became even stupider and unbelievable. And, it really pissed me off when the girl chose the cult over her own sister. I think it was a very bad decision by the writer. If not for that I would give this movie a 10. I still want to. But, as soon as I think of that, I can't let myself. I wish I could give it a 10 total, and a -10 for that. But, I can't. lol

Anyways, besides that one thing, this movie is great, on a level that most movies never are.

Pretty Funny and Good...Not What I was Expecting
8 March 2020
IDK, I thought it was good. It is low budget. There's no denying that. In general I even try to avoid low budget movies. However, this one is very funny. I had no problem sitting through this film. Probably will even watch it again and show it to friends.

Basically, the plot involves an internet starlet, who gets lost in the woods, after her date dies on a rock climbing trip. While there, she has adventures, including fighting aliens and tripping on mushrooms.

The good:

Very funny- the actress has very good charisma and a sense of humor, that seems natural (I get the feeling that she really is a funny person).

Sexy- There are a few scenes where girls are in their underwear. There are also a few scenes where guys have no shirts on (if your into that sort of thing).

Good music- There is pretty good music (EDM).

The bad:

Budget- It obviously didn't have a huge budget. But it wasn't distracting, (like it usually could be). They did very good, with the budget they had.

CGI- This kind of goes with the previous thing, about budget. The CGI wasn't great. But, it didn't really matter either. The CGI was just there for a few jokes. For that, it was fine.

So anyways, I really like this film. To me, it's the humor that makes this film. I was chuckling all through it (and I think of myself as being pretty picky and jaded, humor wise. Maybe I'm just the target audience.). Sure, it's low budget. But, if it wasn't, I think it could have been a comedy hit at theaters. I think this actress could go on to do bigger budget comedy. I'd like to see her in other projects.

Ridiculous and stupid
8 March 2020
It seemed like it was going to be good, at first. The visuals looked nice. The story seemed interesting. But.......when the guy was laying on a small body sized chunk of land, and lava was all around it, and he was till alive, I began to get angry. Then when the dinosaur tried to get him on that chunk of land, and stepped in the lava, and then shook it off, like it was water, I said screw this. Actually, it still makes me angry thinking about it >.<

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)
4/10
It has it's good points.
29 February 2020
I think maybe the negative criticisms for this series are too harsh, (and I gave Discovery a 1* rating, and bashed the crap out of it, in my review). I do see the points people are making though, and more or less agree with them. But I also have been enjoying some of those same things, about this series.

Anyways, let me just address a few of the things, I've seen other reviews complaining about.

Dark: I do hate the new trend of tv shows being dark, in general. And this definitely suffers from that. Not only the story is dark, but also the visuals.

As far as dark visuals go, that is never good, (i.e. the CW look) and it's not good here either.

As far as a dark story goes, it can go either way. I do kind of like it here (unlike most others). I feel I can relate to Picard's darkness. I'm getting pretty old myself. Things I was once cheery about, just feel me with sadness now, with a sense of loss. Like Picard, I've lost loves ones, more and more each day. I myself used to be so optimistic. But, like Picard, I'm finding less and less to be optimistic about. I think Stewart's acting really captures this. So, I do like this aspect of the story.

Cameos: I absolutely love this aspect of the show. Every episode I've downloaded so far (pirated of course), I just can't wait to see if another old favorite will appear.

Non-episodic format: I do agree with the others here. I dislike it when any show has a non-episodic format. And, unfortunately, this is like that. I think what I dislike about it, with Star Trek, is that with old Star Treks I can watch episodes over and over again. I still watch Voyager and TNG episodes every day. (I have those series downloaded.)But, with a continuous story format, it may be good on the first viewing. You can't wait to progress the story each episode. And it's like that here too. I am anticipating each new episode, caus I want to see what will happen in the story. But as far as rewatching later, (I like to rewatch shows on a random shuffle in my media player) that wont work with this. Once you know the story there's no point to see it again.

Violence: Here I totally disagree with the other reviews. Well maybe not disagree. I do see their point. Star Trek in the past tried to avoid violence, and acts of violence by beloved characters. However, in those past series, that annoyed the f##k out of me. I felt it was brain washing, to try to make us sheep like slaves. Or even worse, they did do alot of violence on almost every episode of past Star Trek series, but then hypocritically denounced violence. In other words, they did just as much violence, if not more, than ST:P, they just didn't show it's effects (i.e. bodys were vaporized instead of stabbed).

Here, I think the violence is the best part, to me at least. When I told my brother about this series he asked, "Is it any good?" I replied, "It's ok. It has alot of pretty extreme violence." He replied, "Well that sounds good." So anyways, I really like the violence. It's the only thing that breaks up some of the boredom that the show can tend to have.

Boredom: I have to agree with some of the others here. Like many shows that try to be serious, it can be boring. This whole series so far, really could have been done in a few episodes.

I don't really blame the show though. People are just boring now days. They don't even know what excitement is. How could they make a show about something they can't even imagine. Maybe only us oldbies, from a time before internet, when we had to go out and do crazy things for fun, can remember excitement.

Anyhow, I just finished episode 6 and the excitement level has definitely picked up. ( I rate ep. 5 and ep. 6, both very good, and exciting.

Future setting: Finally, a new series or film that isn't a f##king prequel or remake. I could rant about prequels or remakes all day. (lol) And I won't feel satisfied until every person who ever made a prequel is dead. They ruined Star Trek with Enterprise. They ruined Star Trek with Discovery. They ruined Star Trek with those films (who's names I never even bothered to learn). The whole point of sci fi is the future. Not a point in time, between now and the future.

So, I am so very glad that this isn't another prequel.

Characters: I'm liking all the characters so far. I particularly like the guy with the sword. I like his ultra-violence. But, he is also funny. He is one of the few funny things in this show. Which is saying something, since he doesn't even talk much. Just the look on his face, and the few things he does say, always make me smile. The other characters seem good too. I don't know any of their names yet (on ep. 6), or I'd mention more characters I'm liking.

Final thoughts: It may not be the best Star Trek (not even close). But it's still worth watching. I've been enjoying it, and eagerly anticipating new episodes, each week (Unlike Discovery, which I completely quit watching). I.m on episode 6 now. It could change. But as of now I'm giving it an 8. Before you say, "That's too high." In my rating system, an 8 means, fairly enjoyable for a one time viewing.
