Using the classic (even in 1906) "note from his mother" a young man skips work to watch the NY Giants face the Pittsburgh Pirates (June 7th, 1906). Baseball fans will thrill at seeing cameos by legends Honus Wagner and Christie Matthewson. Trivia: At this time Moonlight Graham played for the Giants, who was later featured in FIELD OF DREAMS with Kevin Costner - perhaps there is a glimpse of him somewhere.
