If you've ever liked Laura Linney, you'll hate her after this. Not only is her character annoying & unnecessary in this series, Linney completely overacted the part & badly, was really surprised she's still just playing this blubbing middle aged female AGAIN this has been going on for 20yrs, can't she do any other type of character?? Everyone else did a good job, location was lovely.

Love everything about this series. Smart, cynical & a total wanka, you can tell a lot about a mans character by the way he treats his dog. Well written, great casting & a fantastic soundtrack.

Everything about this film is average but particularly Portman's tedious uninteresting dialogue, her overacting & cringeworthy lack of stage precence or rhythm. What a shame the shooters bullet didn't hit the target & save us all wasting time & $ on this cinema drivel.

Your directing has self-indulged theatre snob ALL over it, you are DEFINITELY not a Film maker of merit such as the Jane Campions & what a shame, because she would have done a magnificent job of this tale with these young women's acting skills & divine costumes/settings. Script like the directing is terribly terribly boring & flat. Biggest disappointment of 2019 Cinema so far, such a bummer.

Hideously overacted from the start especially Hemsworth's Mrs. Such a shame they've shattered the romantic illusion of mermaids & turned them into nothing but strutting CRACK Dealers. What a lack of imagination on behalf of the writers/creators. Gets 2 stars for the scenery.

Not a big Jen fan, but I have to say she did a fantastic job in this. I think if it had been yet another "overacted" Kidman or that annoying chick from LaLa they'd have been hurling awards for this performance. Def worth a watch especially if you've ever known true debilitating back pain, you'll totally get this.

Seeing this film in the 80's changed so much for my future viewing tastes & not only influenced me musically falling in love w Tom Waits genius but introduced me to the brilliance of Jarmusch, Italian 80's Cinema w the funniest man in Italy & forced me to go check out New Orleans when I was old enough to buy a plane ticket, and that town Rocked in the '80's & 90's & I wouldn't have been there without the Down By Law film to point me in that direction. Thank you Mr Jim Jarmusch.

How on earth can these be the best specimens Sydney has to offer? Why do the few husbands they've managed to keep, even the long distance ones, all have heads like smashed crabs & about as charismatic as a damp tea towel. I've seen better cat fights in the quadrangle during recess & that's just the nuns.. Next

What a giant martyred pain in the ass Teresa Palmers character is & I don't think I can stomach anymore of her long tortured little girl glaring into the distance. She's pretty dumb about everything, for apparently being an academic specialising in this field. Wasted opportunity w this series, could have been excellent.

I wouldn't even insult Die Hard or Bruce Willis by comparing these two films. This is a boring pile of predictable movie crap. Dwayne stop making such horrible action films PLEASE or at least get your gear off at some stage so we can have something impressive to look at..

The First (2018)

Natasha & Sean do a great job in this Series.

Yes this is a family drama (which I'm not a fan of), yes it's swimming in product placement (which 90% of all your lives & your children's lives are) & yes, it's not smothered in sci-fi graphics, but it's also not Star Trek people... It is a smart series, which Natasha Elhorne is absolutely fantastic in, finally a lead role that brings an intelligent, strong & dignified female character to the small screen without playing a ball breaking politician type she-male. Sean is well cast & does a great job, but the revolting waste of oxygen daughter says so much about how you lot are raising the next generation, that's what you'll all focus on no doubt. Beautifully shot & the last episode opens up a whole new outer space scenario that I'm looking forward to in season 2.

If this is as tough as Mexican Bikers are, the US shouldn't even bother with they're big wall.. Honestly the kids down the local public school in Aussieland are harder & more ruthless dealing during their lunch break in the playground than these dudes. Hideous "Christian Rock" sounding title track - lose that rubbish song pronto..

Mud (2012)

It is SO rare to have a film in the 21stC that has children in it who are not revolting & painful to watch. This is quite a beautiful film in a number of ways, never been a McConaughey fan, but in this he was perfectly cast.

If that hideous, smart ass, untalented kid is an example of this planets future, do us ALL a favour and yes go ahead with your plan & eliminate the humans, start with the kid in this film, please Alien Spacemen for all our sakes.. only thing more annoying in this painful remake, is the character of the miserable mother (Connelly is always SO monotone in everything she does). What a waste of money & resources, this film was BORING and insulting to the original.

Adams Finally Lives Up to the Hype

Was a great novel & has definitely been done justice in this tv series, Jean Marc Vallee has outdone himself with the lingering lush visuals, you can almost feel the humidity in the air in the town of Wind Gap. Patricia Clarkson is fantastic - never been an Adams fan but she FINALLY steps up. They got together a really good cast & backed up by a sensational soundtrack.

The real let down in this film is the full weak male leads.. wimp ass boring men. Poor Artemisia no wonder she wanted to wipe them out, yes, overacted & melodramatic, but dead sexy sword wealding, bow shooting chick leading an ancient Persian armada with a rock'n wardrobe - she must have been SOOO pissed off she didn't get to play with Leonidous (Gerald Butler) instead!!

You either get this type of humour or never ever will - I wish I could've been adopted by Eleanor Zissou. Bill Murray absolutely perfectly cast & I'd say you'll never see a better version of Owen Wilson. This film will always stand alone for originality - she's golden - amongst Wes's best work ever..
