Boiling Point (2021)
Phenomenal Film
A very deep, emotional film about the Head Chef of a restaurant.
This film hits hard and goes deep. Showing snippets of lives of the staff on a hectic evening. An incredibly bad night for the Head Chef with continuous tension that builds to, well, boiling point really!
Amazing skills shown by the actors too, all one take that really shows the skills of those involved too.
Really enjoyed it 😃
Your Home Made Perfect (2019)
More Robert Please!!!
4* Just for how DULL Laura is. 10* for Robert though!
Laura has repetitive, boring renovations that lack any creative flair at all- yet only get chosen because they offer visible storage unlike Roberts creative solutions- with actual architecture.
It is boring watching her win all the time - I have actually stopped watching it after watching people fall in love with Roberts designs but the hostess steers so much Laura's way I think this is actually a detriment to his commissions. As a viewer, it is also dull and feels like he is there just to provide that sense of competition, and a design that is SO opposite her own. Just call it the Laura designs boring homes show, and give Robert his own creative homes one and I will happily hop that way to see them come to life. He can also come sort mine out too. I love it for Robert- hate it for Laura.
The World's Most Amazing Vacation Rentals (2021)
"Worlds best American rentals"
Worlds best American rentals should be the title. The show continues to insult when it comes to cultural experience- it started on such a high with Bali- amazing experiences, the budget rental was actually budget, the experiences were also fantastic as well.
It has gone downhill from the first few episodes and my insult was Japan- there are so many places in Japan offering a food experience, while highlighting the culture- why choose an Australian Skii resort? We saw two Japanese chefs for two seconds, and that was insulting.
Unsure if Covid has played a part or not, but it's become very American focused. Every episode has been set in America for the most part, or near it. Where's Europe? Australia? More of Asia? If Covid has played a part, why are we not seeing how they are travelling in that situation?
There is interesting information being given- they do bring up history of places, architects etc, sustainability is also talked about. I actually like the personality of the hosts and how much they love nature- for me that has been amazing to see as they bring that into each location.
The budgets seem to have gone out the window though as the seasons move on- with even the budget properties being a couple hundred each night - but you do get a lot for that with experiences and views, also depends on how many beds too!
Castle: The Limey (2012)
Bad accent!
I love love LOVE Castle, but this episode bugged me. Casting an Australian as a Brit is just plain wrong, the accent shine through and bugged me the entire episode. Not to mention Castle/Beckett trying to outdo each other.
