Luther vibes
26 November 2018
I have watched four episodes so far and I really like it. It is dark and quirky and the lead actor is very likeable. His ways of conducting investigations remind me a little of Luther.

Thought provoking

I discovered this on iPlayer and binge watched it in a couple of days. It's a very well done, original, thought provoking and very well acted drama. The lead actor is phenominal in his role as is the actor Roger Jean Nsengiyuma (he gave me a young 2Pac vibes). Great to see some young talent emerging on BBC. I love Jessica Raine, but she is in danger of being type cast. Her character was no different from the character she played in 'The Last Post'. A bored and lonely housewife. She can do better! I recommend this show because it felt very real, it is original and a day later I am still thinking about it. I hope the BBC will do a second season! This show is much much better than 'The Bodyguard'.

Twilight Meets Fifty Shades of Grey

Warning: Spoilers
This is an incredibly slow and tedious show. I have watched all five episodes (mainly because my friend wanted to see if anything happens) and the story just doesn't move forward at all. It's a laughable plot, basically it is like Twilight but now with adults. It's hard to take the lead actress seriously as a college professor when she behaves in a very stupid way - five episodes in and she still doesn't understand anything! Matthew Goodge is such a talented actor, I dont know how he was persuaded to do this show. The cinematography is great (Oxford and Venice), but if you are expecting action and a story then this isn't for you.

Rubbish

I watched the entire season and this was basically a sensationalised story that really did not deliver. The ending was ridiculous and unbelievable. I was expecting great quality writing like in 'Line of Duty' which is a brilliant and clever show, but this was nothing special. The ending was incredibly stupid and rushed.

Enjoyable

This is clearly a take on Guardian vs The Sun (or Mail) and it is entertaining and the characters are believable. A very entertaining show. Ben Chaplin really can play a ruthless man very well, and I thin Charlotte Riley is just fabulous and very versatile. I hope they will renew this.

Terrible

Warning: Spoilers
It started of well and promising, but it's become slow and boring. Nothing really happens and every scene is filled with innuendos. I think the lead actress would have made a better Doctor Who than the character she is portraying. She is meant to be traumatised and on suicide watch and then what do people around her do? Give her blood stained clothes to remind her of her childhood and then leave her alone to suffer all by herself. It's painfully slow. I get what the writer is trying to say, he is trying to show the hypocrisy and also that African nations need to stand up for themselves, but it could have been done a lot better. Nothing happens in this show and it's incredibly boring. I think it's important to discuss the Rwandan Genocide, but this show just is not able to portray is correctly. Also what is the significance of the daughter ofJohn Goodman's character? It doesn't lead or contribute anything to the story - we get lingering long shots of her for no reason. We get lingering shots of blood in pee of Goodman's character. Once was enough but it is now in every episode. This show promised more than it delivered.

Really enjoyed this

After the let down that were 'Rogue One' and 'The Last Jedi', I was expecting this one to suck, but this was very well done. I enjoyed it very much. The guy who played Hans Solo really did a fantastic job. He may not look like Harrison Ford, but he did the character justice. Do check it out.
