Good start but went nowhere fast
11 March 2023
It seemed an ok movie in the synopsis section and started off well but very quickly you're already asking questions that never get answers and ultimately becomes excessively boring.

Plot holes that make you think "Really?" But have to be there to advance the story, in other words the movie has to have a huge plot hole in it to be able to work, not a good start. There's no character development and you're left looking in from the outside,so in the final scenes you have no feelings for the girl or any of the crew.

The final monologue giving way to the credits makes you hit the stop button way to fast without pause or reflection.

Overall I'd recommend you give this movie a miss. It's a standard sacrifice movie, poorly done.

Believe the bad reviews, they are accurate and true.
27 February 2023
This movie is just a badly constructed, poorly acted affair, with no bite or substance to it. It's a waste of time to watch it. LEAVE ALONE AND WALK AWAY.

Even if you could get past the huge plot holes which immediately cast doubt of the credibility of the events that unfold. The script writing, woeful acting and very poor directing will probably end this movie early for you, I tried several times to watch the entirety of this, what ever this is, but lasted five or so minutes each time, until the inevitable conclusion that this movie was simply awful.

Ironically there is no suspense considering it's a thriller. Just questions about the lackluster effort everyone puts into this. From design, script, director, the whole production is a farce. Lastly you will feel no emotional attachment, good or bad to any of the characters, just boredom in this monstrosity and that speaks volumes.

Unwatchable
1 January 2023
On paper, it sounded like a great spy thriller with some very capable actors thrown in. From the beginning this car crash of a thriller shows it's true colours. Plot holes galore, lazy, bad writing that honestly a school student could do a better job and it just keeps getting worse as time goes on. C's wife is the main reason I stopped watching. Her actions, he choices, her dialogue is totally unbelievable and unwatchable, to the point she wants to make you scream in frustration. She is ridiculous to say the least. Even the actions and decisions of C are questionable, considering the situation he's been placed in. Most of if not all of his actions wouldn't be allowed or at least closely monitored but I'm not in the spy business so I wouldn't know but in this thriller it's all far fetched and unbelievable and if it makes you feel that way then it's failed as a story and everything else it set out to portray.

Leave this one alone. It really isn't worth wasting your time over.

The glaringly obvious plot hole just ruins it
2 November 2022
Tucci and the American story line, just great, as you'd expect from this great actor. A Sherlock Holmes on death row storyline. The rest is just ridiculous and destroys the whole thing.

As so many reviewers have said already. If the Vicar just told the truth (Which a)He should have and why wouldn't he and b) In reality you have nothing to hide and therefore the truth is obvious.)) Then the story is over and it's because of this massive blunder by the writers that destroys the whole premise. The lie is the most ridiculous aspect of the whole story. It would never have happened. With this in mind you can't help but thinking the whole series is a waste of time. You'll never get past the plot hole.

Watch for the American story but skip the UK side, it doesn't work and is an absolute failure because of the glaringly obvious.

In fact just skip the whole thing.

The must see movie of the year.
28 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is epic in every sense. This movie will leave you sitting where you are at the end pondering what you've just witnessed. The absolute horror of war, in very graphic and heart wrenching detail seen through the eyes of a German soldier.

Felix kammerer should at least be nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Paul. Outstanding, leaving you saddened and and feeling his pain throughout the movie. There are scenes that are just so brutally honest of death that no Hollywood movie would even dare depict it in fear of upsetting their nation's wet wipes. But in this movie it is absolutely necessary to do so, so you connect with Paul on an even deeper level. You feel desperate to help him when he realises what he's done, taken a human life.

The cinematography, the score, supporting cast. Director are utterly amazing and deserve individual credit.

I urge you to watch this movie. They don't get any better than this.

How to ruin an ending in three ways lessons!
19 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Before I watched this, I knew nothing of the real case. I read reviews here but not the ones with spoilers, so I knew nothing of how it ends.

So, how to ruin an ending?

Get Ryan Murphy to do it.

As so many other reviews have said before, the first six episodes are great. The first two will hook you but boy oh boy does the final episode SUCK, so much so you're left regretting starting the series. I know it's based on true life events that are unsolved but surely the ending could have been scripted better as not to leave everyone regretting watching the first six episodes.

Watch for the acting which is superb and the beautiful locations not to mention the house. BUT DO NOT WATCH THE LAST EPISODE. Watch the first six and write the last episode yourself, you'll do a better job than Ryan Murphy that's for sure. Just know the mystery is still unsolved.

Slow moving drama and nothing else
9 October 2022
Firstly this is NOT, I repeat NOT a horror movie. Not even a thriller. It's a very slow moving drama about loss and grief.

The characters are two dimensional with very little substance. There really isn't any character development. What you see is what you get. Mr Harrigan played by the excellent actor Donald Sutherland should have been given room to develop so we the viewer could get to know and understand him more and then maybe get involved with the movie. As it is you're always on the outside looking in and skipping parts towards the end just to bring the conclusion closer. There is no conclusion by the way. Just Craig's played byJaeden Martell monotone voiceover rambling on about absolutely nothing saying when he dies he wants to be buried with empty pockets. His character is so wooden it sends you to sleep.

All in all, a mediocre drama with no twists or surprises to keep you guessing. Two dimensional characters and literally nothing else. It's ok to waste time to but honestly, give it a miss.

Do yourself a favour and watch Breakdown instead.
4 October 2022
A wife kidnapped at a rest stop/ Gas station, sounds familiar? Should do, it's been done a fair few times and all of them did a much better job than this version which is lame, timid and quite frankly boring, when it really shouldn't be.

Watch Breakdown instead as a much better version of this half hearted, soggy sandwich effort. This Gerard Butler version fails in all aspects the main one being suspense which there is non. Flashbacks dominate proceedings which have no real meaning on the story. The coincidences that set Mr Butler on the right track are laughable and destroys any suspense or urgency. It's just another low budget Gerard Butler movie with him running around being macho man beating the tough guys up and being a sharp shooter with a hand gun. The ending is just ridiculous.

Save yourself the time and give this a miss.

A rip roaring parody, nothing more.
20 September 2022
If this was made with any other intention other than to be a parody of all disaster movies, then damn it fails big time and deserves all the negativity it gets, from the bad acting, the ludicrous assumptions, timing framing issues, bad CGI, the story itself BUT as a parody movie it's brilliant, fun, stupid, laughable and indeed it does makes you laugh and all in all it's a damn good rip roaring film. Turn your brain off. Do not analyse, do not be a nerd, geek, whatever, sit back and treat this movie as the parody of all parodies of past disaster movies and you'll enjoy it. Large soda and popcorn. Brilliant.

I begged for mercy for this to end.
17 September 2022
Take an hour off this movie and it'll be ok, as it is I was in tears begging for mercy come the end. "Please, please let it end." I wimpered, as the next and seemingly final scene appeared but alas no, it didn't, the torture was immense. Trying too hard to be the Oh so dark anti hero movie we all know Batman to be. Trying too hard to impress with nothing new. Trying to hard with a story line we all know like the back of our hands. A score equally overly dark as Nivana and Kurt Cobain's voice constantly ring out. All this combined produced a failure of a movie as dark and depressing as this adaptation of Batman.

Acting was good on a whole apart from the glaringly obvious failure of The Batman himself, trying too hard to be the anti rich kid. He brought nothing to the screen nor did Catwoman both a disappointment. The supporting cast were good and did the best they could with what they were given.

This version of Batman fails for so many reasons, ridiculously long, bad casting, trying too hard, the score, storyline,l. Out of all the different adaptations of Batman over the years, this ranks at the bottom of the list, right above the George Clooney version. No more to be said. This is a bad movie period.

All the rave reviews here are fake. THIS IS A REAL REVIEW
22 August 2022
All the reviews here giving this train wreak of a movie rave reviews are either FAKE or written by 12 year olds This is NO horror movie nor is it a thriller. It is completely devoid of any suspense whatsoever, the score tries to inject suspense but fails and what is left is laughable and annoying. The acting is questionable as is the topic of the movie. IT'S A JOKE movie that fails on every level. So all these rave reviews are Fake and should be ignored unless you're twelve.

AVOID THIS MOVIE LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Absolute Garbage. REAL REVIEW. Why people gave this a good review is baffling
2 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
How anyone could possibly think this movie was a good horror movie is beyond me. All the reviews here must be written by twelve year olds. If you must watch this bore fest then move the slider to 1:07:00 and watch from there. The ending is a stand alone ending for starters making the one hour and seven minutes before hand irrelevant and besides it's boring, just a couple of old people acting crazy and not really doing a very convincing job at that. The only interesting bit is when mum tells the kids the old people aren't their grandparents but even then you should have seen that coming a mile off. After that when everyone knows what's going on. There is zero atmosphere of impending doom. Zero build up. Zero suspense. Acting is wooden by all members of the cast. Script was written by a teenager along with the storyline. There is nothing in this movie remotely scarry or even frightening or even to make you pulse rise a notch or two. Baffling how so many people have given this a good review.

Watch the last twenty seven minutes. That's all you'll need . Save yourself a wasted hour.

BTW the ending is as bad as the rest of the movie.

Oh Dear.
1 August 2022
Simply put. Jessica Alba ruins this movie with her usual wooden acting. She should never have been given the part. But hey she was a big name back then. A more rounded and polished actor could have brought so much to this movie. As it is. Give this a miss. Jessica Alba does nothing good for this flick. Oh and the ending is just eye rolling (pun intended) and made me hit the stop button.

It's a yawn fest because of you know who.

Click bait title. AVOID THIS SAD EXCUSE FOR A MOVIE
30 July 2022
The movie has nothing to do with the title. This is the worst of horror movies, everything bad about modern western society trying to be PC in a horror movie. Here's some words to describe this movie. Boring, Tedious, laughable, pathetic, bad acting, terrible, teenie. This movie is wrong and bad on every single level. AVOID IT LIKE COVID. For a straight forward slasher movie it's useless, dumb and has ZERO build up, NO atmosphere whatsoever. There is nothing even remotely good about this movie..JUST AVOID.

Season 4 episode 9 - WHAT A LET DOWN!
5 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What should have been the finale we all wanted and eagerly awaited as we were kept on tender hooks turned out to be flat, boring, long winded and down right irritating. For starters when you're presented with a two and a half hour runtime on the final episode you're already thinking "This is going to drag on." You can't sustain a Stranger Things episode for two and a half hours, it's exhausting and surely enough this episode is. It's dragged out and filled with constant monologues from each character in turn pouring their heart out in an endless strength sapping drone of self pity add on top the music that is so full of sugar your teeth start to rott immediately to which you have to skip forward to stop the pain. YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SKIP FORWARD IN A SEASON FINALE! You should be gripped, not begging the episode to end. It's all completely unnecessary and totally distracting from the main plot. Just tedious. Next, El shows non of the fight and power she has been harnessing since the very first episode of season one. The final battle in the minds or The Mind Battle as it's bean called is frustrating and ridiculous. El does her customary throwing people around with One her nemesis who she created thinking that's all that is needed. COME ON! THROWING A DEMON THROUGH A WALL ISN'T GOING TO KILL HIM. But El seems to think so. And when the counter attack comes she does nothing at all to defend it and seems just like the rest of the characters and the episode itself to give up and accept the inevitable defeat without a single harsh word. It doesn't fit her character at all. Poor poor writing and directing. Ultimately the fight falls way short of what it should have been. And this in a finale is what the whole season has been building up to. And it fails big time. The episode is convoluted and basically up it's own backside with narcissistic tendencies from the directors and visions of grandeur way beyond it's means. The whole production team from actors to directors need to be brought back to earth and this episode should be the one to do it.

Should season 5 be made? NO in short. Leave it. Have this series as the one where the good guys lost and leave it at that. Season 5 would kill what in most has been an excellent series and one I have thoroughly enjoyed apart from the finale of season 2 which was horrendous as well.

Sometimes the good guys lose and in this one they have. The final scenes of episode nine are an indication that eason 5 won't work.

All in all an extremely disappointing ending to a really good season.

Went downhill fast - FORGET THIS, IT'S BAD
17 May 2022
Episodes 1-5 were good, slow but still good then all of a sudden episode 6 was laughable and that was the end, the rest of the series was a joke. Ridiculous effects, mediocre acting. 1950's B movie horror flick. Meatloaf was the best one. Did Netflix get bored? Did they change the writers? O don't know what happened but boy did they destroy a good idea and a good start. I do not recommend this on any level. Watch 1-5 then stop.

Utter Garbage from start to finish.
17 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Where to start. The story is weak and doesn't hold up, reused, rehashed from countless movies before hand. The acting is mediocre at best leading to flat uninterested performances even by the actress playing Mary, the jump scares don't work and are laughable the disjointed character is taken from The Ring which has been used to death, there is nothing in this movie remotely scary, it's dull, uninteresting, predictable and a bore fest BUT without a doubt it's the writing or lack of it that destroys this movie. The screenwriters and script writers should never be allowed to carry on. They need to be fired. IT'S AWFUL. The movie from start to finish is full of 'It just so happens.' example the local MD just so happens to know everything about ancient witch practices and is a fully trained historian as well as it just so happens she's fluent in Latin and so it continues.

DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE.

Excellent movie. The bad reviews and scores are from people who didn't understand and didn't get it.
21 February 2019
I loved this movie, great acting, even better story line but you need to concentrate to get it, once you do you become part of the movie and I love movies that make me part of it. Diane Lane needed a bigger part, she too much of a star for the cameo part she played. But all in all, this is a great film for people who like to think during a movie. If you like to turn your brain off during a movie then this is not for you. This is a brilliant thinking man's movie. Sit back and enjoy.

21 February 2019
Total rubbish, very bad acting, zero atmosphere and I mean no atmosphere what so ever. Ridiculous storyline, plot holes galore, I fell asleep twice watching this garbage, the ending is laughable as is the whole movie, I honestly thought it was a tongue in cheek not to be taken seriously movie, but that wasn't the intention from the film. Makers, low budget or not it's just a very very bad movie. D movie is giving it a compliment. AVOID. And ignore the high score reviews, they are paid reviews.

A tale of two cities
16 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Classic Horror, this movie had everything, setting, decent story line, good jump scares, the odd time you need to turn away to tune out the horror, great music score, tense build up and some really great scary moments. I loved this movie right up to the end scene and OMG how to kill a movie in one stroke. No mean feat but they managed it. They destroyed everything they had built before it and turned a great horror movie into a slap the forehead and laugh moment. Two movies spliced together. Jeanie's narrative was shameful and embarrasing. The whole concept fell flat, they should have stuck with the tried and tested method of just using the devil and leave it at that. So close yet so far, this movie should be on my collection list but the ending has relegated it to the trash bin. I'm so very disappointed. My advice is this, after Peter's mum cuts her own head off in the attic, end the movie there and let your own imagination complete the movie, please please please, dont watch the ending it doesn't do the movie justice at all, in fact it hops the head off it as Annie did to herself the previous scene.

Ignore all these fake reviews, this is a very very bad movie
10 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen, I just laughed at the ridiculous acting, the music done on a cheap Casio keyboard, the blood effects made me laugh the most. The best bit of this movie is the blonde bimbo with the fake assets at the beginning when she takes her t shirt off exposing them and she must have been very cold. The rest of the movie is just plain awful. Please please please, save your time and don't watch it, there is nothing remotely horror based in this movie, not even a single jump scare, nothing will scare you in fact you'll probably just laugh like I did, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE, IT'S A JOKE.

If you have never seen a Predator movie then fine watch it, otherwise, STAY AWAY
14 September 2018
If like me, you were brought up with the original predator movie and the original Terminator etc, then for the love of God stay away from this utter train wreck of a movie that has no respect whatsoever to the predator or it's abilities to fight. It angered me to the point where I walked out. Maybe questions were answered later on in the movie but I'd had enough, the main question is why the predator was so human like, even knowing how to use a machine gun. WTF, no use of it's special toys that it used to defeat a crack team of muscle bound army guys lead by Arnie or an L.A police department and the FBI lead by Danny Glover. This thing was just a joke, as was the movie, bad everything, the crack team now a bunch of crack pots with bad jokes, lead by a mental handicapped boy just to keep the PC crowd happy. The action scenes were tedious and repetitive, the jokes wore thin, the storyline non existent, badly put together. IT'S JUST WRONG. no wonder Arnie refused to be a part of it. Do yourself a favour, watch the originals and AVP and be happy. Forget this if you're a fan of the Predator.

Good jumpy movie, However....
29 August 2018
Firstly, ignore the negative reviews, they're from people who obviously reside in the same place as the lead character does in this movie, (You'll know what I mean at the end of the movie.) These people have no imagination and probably like nothing more than a poor Hollywood zombie flick. On with the review. Great movie with plenty of jump scares mixed in with some chilling atmosphere along the way. Good location and some damn fine acting. The three stories are well executed, although I did find the second one rather disappointing as I felt the location and what's inside could have been explored more rather than the lame flash back itself, leaving me with too many questions. I thought the three stories were going to tie in somewhere towards the end and it geared up to that conclusion, however and unfortunately it failed to deliver and fell flat on it's face, leaving me feeling rather cheated and thinking "Is that the best they could come up with! " Ignore the ending it really doesn't do justice to what transpired before it. Enjoy the three stories for what they are and don't analyze too much. Just enjoy being made to jump and that's it.

As bad as it can get
29 August 2018
Worst horror I've seen and I've seen some really bad ones, terrible storyline, terrible script, terrible acting, I laughed most of the time at the ridiculousness of this movie. I fell asleep after ten minutes to wake up to the most unconvincing demonic scream I've ever heard, it was laughable. The whole movie from start to finish was awful and the ending is so ridiculous I couldn't stop laughing. I know it was made on a budget of about ten dollars, but it never fails to amaze me that a director, producer or even the actors would say "Yeah that works. " be ashamed of yourselves, be very ashamed and find new jobs that has nothing to do with making movies because you're talentless. Rant over.

I love horror, just about seen all there is and I've seen some really awful movies in the mix. This one is in the top three for worst horror movie. It's not a horror in the slightest. The first part was ok, some funny bits, quite entertaining. The director should have kept that bit going and forget about the horror in the second part. It didn't work on any level. THIS IS A VERY BAD MOVIE, SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND DONT WATCH IT.
