The Batman (2022)
9/10
The World's Greatest Detective is given a 9/10!
6 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The Batman (2022) Directed by Matt Reeves, Starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, John Tuturro, Barry Keoghan, Jeffrey Wright, Peter Sarsgaard, & Andy Serkis.

The film follows a young Bruce Wayne/Batman {Pattinson} as he digs deep into the corruption and murders inside Gotham City. He uncovers a serial killer calling himself The Riddler {Dano} whose murdering the huge names of Gotham City. Pattinson is the most comic book accurate iteration of The Dark Knight, and Dano makes history as the Batman's formidable foe The Riddler, with his political opinions on Reeves' Gotham and it's people; (we've come a long way since '95).

The rest of the characters, including Selina Kyle/Catwoman {Kravitz}, Oswald 'Oz' Cobblepot/Penguin {Farrell}, Carmine Falcone {Tuturro}, Lt. James Gordon {Wright} and Alfred {Serkis} are top notch!

Batman and Penguin's car chase is the best chase sequence we've seen in a Batman movie. The history on the Wayne family and the Arkham family was a compelling, edgy, and emotional arch on Bruce's life and on the city itself. What really stands out was understanding the history behind the Wayne's, and that Martha Wayne was an Arkham who was incarcerated in Arkham State Hospital due to mental illness. Thomas Wayne hired Falcone to kill a journalist due to mocking the Wayne family legacy. That itself, has been "purrfectly" set by Reeves' imagination. Great storytelling!

The ending was great! It really captured Batman's core of being Gotham's Hero! This is just the beginning of Reeves' Batman, and his Gotham!

Overall, it's a great movie! I wouldn't say this movie is a masterpiece, it did have its flaws. The movie did drag a bit, some parts of the movie was slow and needed a bit of picking up. However, if you're a Batman fan, you will love this movie. Pattinson is a great Batman, but was very eccentric as Bruce Wayne. He's got more to do!

IMDB. I give you a 9/10 on The Batman (2022).

Cherry (I) (2021)

Deep, impactful. Holland's come a long way
30 May 2021
Cherry (2021), Tom Holland, and the Russo Brothers from a Marvel experience, coming into a movie based on the war on drugs, is a smart move throwing into Holland's acting career. Holland kills it in this fast-paced drama picture, and his role so far away from Peter Parker and his other non-fiction roles, this one is the most unique. BAFTA and Oscar, I think that's a bold move don't you agree? The way the story connects in six different settings; from college student, to war veteran, to drug dealer, to bank robber, the storytelling was genius. The Russo brothers are on the road to even more ambiguous success level, and I cannot wait for their next movie, whether fiction or non-fiction, it'll be a great ride, even if Holland is involved again.

The story is very deep, and disturbing. It's impactful and very hard to watch at times, when the screen fades to red, it's mesmerising and gives the audience chills and thrills, to be in Holland's shoes and to let the audience understand what type of movie it wants it to be, it's great.

Great movie, great acting, great directing. 9/10. Oscar/Bafta worthy? I don't see why not.

Fantastic!

It's not over
7 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) is what we wanted from the beginning! Justice League (2017) is dead in the water, and this is DC's superhero team in the near future. Zack Snyder has done the perfect job by bringing his own vision onto the screen, and it's what every DC fan would wanted.

It certainly is a long movie, with a lot of dark theme, and tension. There is so much more to look forward too in every chapter. Some of it might seem repetitive due to it being an original motion picture, but it's not so original there aren't any new additional scenes, and oh boy, are there new things to look forward to see. The DCEU looks to be back on track, and to add to an extra cherry on top of the perfect icing cake, The Martian Manhunter makes an appearance played by Harry Lennix who was originally portraying as General Calvin Swanwick in Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), tell me that's not exciting to see!

It heavily focuses on Ray Fisher's Cyborg, and his backstory is told well. His isolation is a true dark tone Zack Snyder was looking for. Cyborg is a much better portrayal in this movie than 2017's version. Ezra Miller's Flash stays as the comic relief we see in the original, and it's what the Flash should be. And, of course, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa's Aquaman, and Jeremy Irons' Alfred, are great to see again, even better than their original versions. The story in itself this time around feels like what a DC movie should be, it's amazing how a movie can change dramatically but stay as original as possible.

Zack Snyder deserves a lot of praise for his vision, it does enough justice to keep it as great as they wanted it to be. Very impressive, I'd suggest you stick on Injustice 2 afterwards if you're a DC fan.

Bring it on DC! What else you got?

8/10.

Marvel's not afraid to go all political. Are you Team Cap or are you Team Iron Man?
25 April 2021
Marvel Studios' Captain America: Civil War (2016) is the best in Cap's trilogy. The Winter Soldier (2014) isn't far off, but it beats it to it not far off. The cast is bigger, the storytelling is more compelling, and the Marvel world is growing! Having Iron Man in a Captain America solo movie is pretty extraordinary, and... let's just say, including a new Spider-Man, AND a new hero in town; T'Challa/Black Panther played by the late Chadwick Boseman, is just the icing on the cake. Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man thus far, and he's got a whole way to go. May Chadwick rest peacefully as the Black Panther he'll always be known for!

The storytelling is gripping, friendship is a big thing in this story canon. Cap and Bucky's friendship puts the rest of the Avengers to the test. Is The Winter Soldier trustworthy or not? Whose the enemy; Cap or Iron Man? The best thing Marvel has done, is it's let YOU as the audience decide what's right and what's wrong? Are you Team Cap or are you Team Iron Man?

Spectacular.

The First Avenger
25 April 2021
Marvel Studios' Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) is how Marvel should be. The setting, storytelling, acting, and history is pretty spot on. Chris Evans has come a long way since Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: The Rise of The Silver Surfer (2007). The "First" Avenger is a great representation of how a hero should be! His patriotism redefines modern heroes, and his long absence from movies signifies a great turning point to modern day audiences.

His backstory is impressive. From an anorexic nobody to a leading, muscular somebody, gives cinema and Marvel fans something new. There is no origin including parents, and family, it's just about this one man who wants to do right in the sickly world of war, and with his physical appearance, he cannot! But... he can now after one promise.

The film's villain; Johann Schmidt/Red Skull is a great villain to begin Cap's story, and Hugo Weaving does a great job at that. The cool-calculated love interest, that is of Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter is not only the beautiful love interest in the movie business, but her generic way of fighting abilities and her strong wit of heroism in a world where war was everywhere, Atwell sits well in the MCU as that character alone.

Marvel Studios' Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) is the final solo MCU movie in Phase One, and it's kicked off the way it should. Chris Evans is the perfect First Avenger, the setting is great also, a hero in the early 20th Century can do just as well as heroes in today's time.

Amazing!

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Truth (2021)
Season 1, Episode 5
10/10
"Truth" is; it's Great
16 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier S1 E5: Truth, delivers like it did with the first episode. It's an explosive, action-packed experience that still brings great dramatic moments, and the necessity of being great.

The first scene before the opening credit is incredible. Falcon and Winter Soldier v Walker, was superbly well done. The showdown between the two against one was well acted. Wyatt Russell is great as U. S. Agent. The final few moments really sets up it's show's finale, and Sam Wilson is ready to kick some action. He is, and should be, the new Cap! However, Bucky is still holding that shield, so who knows?

The friendship between Bucky and Sam are still on point, and episode six is going to really bring the defying friendship together. Someone will own that shield! And I reckon it's Sam.

It's a 10/10 for me! Cannot wait for the series finale.

Got loads more to see
14 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier S1 E2: The Star-Spangled Man is good stuff. The MCU is going the way it needs too. This episode's theme is very different, and it's the beginning of a very dark and adult themed storytelling relatable to today's society.

Sam and Bucky show you their friendship growing, and the banter between the two is pretty hilarious to watch. The first time Bucky and Sam meet since Avengers: Endgame (2019) still show you that the friendship shown since then is still generically entertaining, and the action, god the action; Falcon, Winter Soldier, U. S. Agent, and some Flag-Smashers on a loaded truck is great stuff.

8/10.

Good.

There's more going on than you know
14 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier S1 E4: The World Is Watching, has one of the biggest cliffhangers in the MCU to date. John Walker is a different man compared to Steve, and I think the MCU has delivered something truly unique for what's yet to come. U. S. Agent, the antihero is truly showing his true colours from the comics.

Falcon's costume returns and it's glorious. This is by far the most ambitious episode to date, looking forward to Friday 16th's. Lets go!

That kill from the shield is nothing the MCU has done before, and Wyatt Russell delivered the antihero's revenge trait very well. While the rest of the world watches, what will Walker do next?

9/10.

Luke Cage (2016–2018)
9/10
Very, very impressed
9 April 2021
Marvel's Luke Cage (Netflix) is an exciting Marvel experience on the small screen. It's adaptation based on the bulletproof hero in Harlem is truly incredible. Because of it's theme, the way Netflix has established this Marvel character is so unique, it's done well. It's not just old superhero fashion, this is straight up a story that doesn't concentrate on the big heroic moments, like the Battle with Thanos in Avengers: Endgame (2019), this is more of a battle for human rights and humanitarian aid for the people who need it the most.

Mike Colter as Luke Cage is the perfect Power Man. He generates a character that doesn't symbolise for the likes of Spider-Man, and Iron Man. He is a man who wants to protect the people as if he is a real life individual protecting his neighbourhood. His superhuman strength and bulletproof is the only hero part about it, the rest of it is truly adult themed.

Mike Colter deserves a continuation after the show's cancellation with Netflix, he needs to come back with Disney. We want more Luke Cage, because he is a character that is idolised by the street, and he symbolises as a hero not from a galaxy far, far away like the Guardians, or as huge like The Avengers, but just to the small people who are in need by Harlem's corruption.

Marvel's Luke Cage (Netflix) is a must watch!

Truly satisfying story, character development and a brilliantly executed location. More real, less CGI is actually pretty decent at times.

9/10.

Colter, we want you to team up with Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Charlie Cox's Daredevil. You deserve to stay!

The Punisher (2017–2019)

You better watch Castle's back
9 April 2021
Marvel's The Punisher (Netflix) delivers great and realistic themes unlike anything Marvel has done before. The way the show carries its realistic approach is something so captivating and disturbing in a well performance kind of way. Jon Bernthal has created Frank Castle the way it should be, he is the perfect Punisher!

The two series explore dark themes and PTSD, so much so this is far more disturbing Marvel has ever explored. It's unique take on the character is portrayed well and every action scene is something you'd have to watch after the kids have gone to sleep. Talk about Spider-Man being kid friendly, this surpasses that for miles. I'm hoping The Punisher stays R-Rated now that Disney+ has an age restriction.

It's not as good as Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix), but it's something to look into if you love the Marvel world. They better not recast Bernthal as Castle, because he a lot of credit.

8/10.

Give it a watch, you might be surprised.

Daredevil (2015–2018)

Taught 2003 a lesson
9 April 2021
Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix) breathes new fresh air in this version of the blind lawyer. Charlie Cox is the perfect Man Without Fear, and this show is not afraid to get their hands dirty on strong violence and blood. It's a huge step from Marvel's movies, the closest its ever got to since Blade (1998) and Blade II (2002).

Every season has a definitive story, and you explore Murdoch's strength and vengeance from the first episode to the last. This is what Daredevil (2003) should've done.

The rest of the cast, especially the incredible acting chops of Vincent D'Onofrio is incredible as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin. He is the best Kingpin to date, and he and Cox's relationship between hero and villain is satisfying to watch on the sofa. The small screen can do well just as the big screen captures Marvel.

One of the best Marvel shows going. Move aside Ben Affleck's Daredevil, you belong in the Batcave. Charlie Cox IS The Man Without Fear.

10/10.

Spectacular.

Man on Fire (2004)

Great movie, shaky cams get in the way
4 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Man on Fire (2004) was enjoyable! The storytelling is a compelling and dark one. Denzel never disappoints, and Dakota was pretty impressive at a young age. This type of bodyguard movie is pretty impressive, and Denzel still creates suspense for his audiences. He does that justice. Very, very impressive acting!

His tragic story is gripping. And the way he carries himself is brilliant. Denzel suits in a suit armed to the teeth, he's definitely no stranger to that sort of character. I'm a huge Denzel fan, and I'm impressed with his bodyguard role.

The reason why it's a 7/10 is because of the shaky cam involving from the mindset perspective, also, when he goes on the trail to find Dakota's character, is a bit repetitive. A man on a vengeance to do the right thing has been seen so many times. But overall, Man on Fire (2004) is a great movie. If you love movies involving bodyguards, action, and pure adrenaline, then Man on Fire (2004) for a few bucks is worth a shot.

7/10.

Denzel. Still a fan, always going to be a fan!

Point Break (1991)

Bodhi: "100% pure adrenaline."
4 April 2021
Let's go dude! Point Break (1991) is pure adrenaline bro! Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves are in one of the best, explosive action-packed thrill ride movies of all time. The relationship between a hot-headed FBI agent and a cool-calculated part-time bank robber full-time surfer is just dope! This is fun for all the fans of the action genre. It's got to be in one of the 1000 movies "before you die book", it really is that much of a dope movie.

This movie is rememberable at it's finest. It gives Heat (1995) a run for it's money. Johnny Utah and Bodhi are friends like no other even the best of buds Charles Xavier/Professor X and Erik Lensherr/Magneto are compelled, and these two hotheads don't even have powers. Director Kathryn Bigelow creates not only fun and enjoyment in a violent movie, but she isn't afraid to dive deep into human relationship between good and evil, and people's perspectives on life itself; what is right and what is wrong! And how to just ride it out in amongst everything, living life to it's fullest.

Point Break (1991) might be old-school, but it stays as an all-round classic in this generation of movies.

10/10.

Totally stupidliciously awesome dude!

The Boys (2019– )

Marvel and DC better watch their backs
28 March 2021
The Boys (2019) is brilliant! It shows that not all "heroes" wear capes. Homelander is the big bad, and I've never seen an arrogant character as much as him on screen before. I love the fact that the day-to-day people are the ones you're cheering for. On the other hand, the so-called heroes have it all, and they're not who you think they are. That's what I love about this show and it's truly, amazingly unique.

Karl Urban is great in this show, and Anthony Starr shows that he carries the antagonist role perfectly. A nice surprise from Simon Pegg is great stuff, and the rest of the cast including; Jack Quaid as Hughie, Erin Moriarty as Starlight, Jessie T. Usher as A-Train, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Chase Crawford as the Deep, and the others are just great.

The Boys (2019) is definitely one of those binge-watches. I cannot wait for Season Three.

9/10.

Magnificent.

Very impressed with this show
26 March 2021
Power Series 1-3 is impressive! Currently watching Series 4. This is a perfect binge-watch show to grab in the U. K. whilst you're stuck at home with nothing to do in lockdown.

James St. Patrick is interestingly, undeniably a confident nightclub owner with so much on his weight and there's so much more to go on; family, love affairs, friendship betrayals, it's all here!

Trust... is a dangerous weapon in the world of Power.

Great show! Looking forward to seeing more.

Here we go Green Arrow!
21 March 2021
Green Arrow S1 E1: Pilot (2012) is impressive! It's a slow burner to start with, but it really gets going. Stephen Amell is a great Oliver Queen, and he portrays the billionaire playboy very well. His introduction of using a bow and arrow is great stuff. I'm really looking forward for more of his take on the titular character. There's so much more to see!

Of course, this is a 2012 season, but whilst indoors in lockdown, it's time to dig into the hood and grab the bow looking forward for a great show to come.

Great pilot, bit of a slow-burner, but nonetheless great adaptation of learning more about Star City's "Robin Hood."

Great. 8/10.

WandaVision (2021)

Marvel's not afraid to explore new territories.
19 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
WandaVision S1 (2021) is a great show! It's a real slow-burner, but every week it gives a lot of hope and excitement to MCU fans. The show and how they explore the sitcom life from previous television is damn entertaining and perfect for setting up Marvel on Disney+, especially after the big showdown with big baddie Thanos.

How they adventure into the world of magic, Marvel really aren't worried about getting their hands dirty on trying new things, and this show is the perfect series to show it, i.e. magic, and witches alike. I cannot wait to see how Scarlet Witch comes to terms with teaming up with Doctor Strange in Doctor Strange Into The Multiverse Of Madness (2022). Oh yes, and Vision is gone?!?! Mmmmm.

Overall, Marvel's WandaVision is a great "show", and not to be missed. If you follow the MCU, then gives this one a go. It's completely different, and sometimes quite slow to settle into, but there's so much more to come, and so much more to see. I mean, what's up with S.W.O.R.D. ayy?

9/10. Great!

Marvel's off to a good start like always!
19 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier S1 Ep 1: A New World (2021) is what every Marvel fan wants. The MCU has once again brought you an amazing character-driven recap after one of the, if not, the biggest movie to date (Avengers: Endgame) and it's big battle with baddy Thanos.

Sam Wilson/The Falcon, and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, are completely in a different world. After the battle against Thanos and when Wilson was given the Cap mantle, the Falcon is trying to live his military life and be his own man, whilst Bucky is trying to live the life he wanted before he was brainwashed, still in some ways confused with the modern day world. They never meet in the episode, but the series has a whole way to go, and it's going to be brilliant! "The world is changing" is what Bucky says in the trailer, and in this episode, it clearly is from his perspective as a 106 year old World War II veteran who never aged.

The story is really bringing us something different, and clearly without old Cap it's going to shape things up differently. I recommend the first five/ten minutes, it's got one of the best openings to the Marvel movies to date, and this is just one episode of what's to come. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a treat to the MCU, and I cannot wait for next week's episode. As just the first episode out of six, it really is a 10/10.

The Falcon said in Endgame, he'll do his best. Oh doesn't he just do that! And Barnes, he's really got great scenes coming too.

Jack Ryan (2018–2023)
10/10
John Krasinski killed it!
13 March 2021
Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan (2018) is phenomenal! It's got deep, impactful, and downright excellent character building and storytelling. Not only is this show based on a character that was written, but this show alone doesn't shy away from exploring deep, realistic portrayals of modern day warfare. Problems around the world, and to what's going on right now, it's realism is perfect inside a fictional character's world. Perfection!

Jim Halpert is out of the office, and into the CIA. John Krasinski is the perfect Jack Ryan! And he really gives it all as a CIA Analyst turned operative. He really delivers, and deserves to sit on the Ryan bench with all the other great actors before his turn on the screen. Wendell Pierce, and Abbie Cornish as James Greer, and Cathy Mueller are perfect! The other characters in Seasons One-Two are exceptional. Cannot wait for Season 3 when it arrives.

John Krasinski proves that he can put all odds on any role he portrays, and he's the perfect choice for Ryan. The show is mind-blowing both seasons. It's my favourite show on the Prime, and your money wouldn't be wasted.

Jack Ryan is such an admiring fictional character, whose nothing like others; his mind is his superpower, and that's what's so fascinating about him. If you don't have Amazon Prime, I highly recommend it because of this show.

Bring it on Season 3. 10/10. Masterpiece.

Marvel's Avengers (2020 Video Game)
7/10
If you love the Avengers, and you love all the characters, you'll enjoy this game!
28 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Marvel's Avengers (2020) is an enjoyable game! I would've love to of had replay missions, but there's plenty of stuff to do online. If you were looking forward to playing the Hulk, then you won't be disappointed, Hulk fans are going to sink there teeth in. Other characters like; Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and now, Kate Bishop/Hawkeye, are all fun to play. On the flip side, there isn't a lot of Cap in this game. Cap gets his time to shine halfway through the game, but you're not him as long as I'd like it to be. How he is portrayed in this game is pretty cool, but just a bit more Cap would've done me a solid.

I wasn't sold on Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. The fan service didn't do for me, however, I am intrigued in where she is taken if they make a sequel, and of course, the MCU's Ms. Marvel. I don't dislike Ms. Marvel, but what they did with her in this game was a bit too cheesy for me, that being said, that could be her portrayal as a whole. Maybe there's more to come with her. Ms. Marvel is a cool character, and I'm really looking forward to her Disney+ show. The best character to play, in this game, is Thor. Thor wields that hammer like there is no tomorrow, and to play Thor in just an ordinary tee is pretty awesome, considering you're throwing your hammer around and flying like the cool character he is. The rest of the Avengers and their costumes are pretty cool also.

In the end, Marvel's Avengers is a fun game to play, but I wish there were replay missions, and more to do once you're done. The missions are a bit repetitive, but swinging around a hammer, throwing a Vibranium shield, and flying and blazing through the skies as Iron Man, there is more to come in this game. (Spider-Man abs Black Panther, cannot wait). Playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye is going to be solid (Kate Bishop is cool also). But once he's released, then you have the original six. But there is more coming, I can guarantee you that!

Good game overall! It's not as good as Spider-Man PS4, but still enjoyable. 7/10.

90's nostalgia works well in this universe.
21 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Captain Marvel (2019) is a good movie! It doesn't exactly hold up with Avengers Infinity War (2018) and Avengers Endgame (2019) but if you want a "buddy cop" movie set in the one of the biggest, if not THE biggest saga today, then you've definitely got one. It's fun! It's enjoyable, if you follow the MCU and the Infinity Saga, you won't be disappointed. Vers/Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) does great! She has done a good job keeping up with the 12 year saga. And her charismatic take on becoming the hero she's supposed to be, is very well created! I'm looking forward to what else she brings into the MCU, as there's so much more to see from her. She's lit dude!

The story, I really enjoy. It's not the best MCU film that's for sure, I would describe this film as "the popcorn Saturday Night In buddy cop film" for the MCU. The characters are really well portrayed as well, Ben Mendelsohn, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jude Law are great actors. Clark Gregg is back as Phil Coulson, and he still delivers! On the other side, there is the female portrayals, and they're all just great. Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening are all great! Djimon Hounsou is back from Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) as Korath the Pursuer and he's more of a secondary character. There isn't much Korath in this movie. The story focusing on Danvers finding out who she is, we've seen hundred times over, but it's just perfect enough to understand why she's here before Phase 4, and where she's been since Iron Man (2008). Is she going to be the new Captain America lead? Phase 4 has just started!

Spoiler Alert; you have been warned! How Nick Fury loses his eye is a bit meh! It's not by a gun, or by a Kree, or in battle. No, it's in fact, a Cat! Yes... a Cat? Well a Flerken, a "dangerous" alien. He doesn't look dangerous? I would've like to see him lose it in battle, but that doesn't mean the movie makes it a total meh. I guess they want to go a different route, and their needs to be some humour into it. C'mon, it's the MCU! The ending is brilliant, Nick Fury is setting up something "big" from a nostalgic old 90s computer. Starting from the Project Initiative, to the "Avengers" Initiative, I mean c'mon, again, what else used the word Initiative in the Infinity Saga? What I love is the connection between Danvers and Fury. They're perfect as one of Marvel's dynamic duo, and Danvers' promise to Fury for "emergencies only" with an old pager is really something to look into, Where has she been since the Avengers banded together? And now we know. I'm loving the style she delivers, she is her own hero! And that's great for what's yet to come.

Captain Marvel is a great movie for the MCU. It's certainly not the best, but if you love the 90s theme and you love the MCU as a whole, you better follow this one up because there's so much to remember and so much to look forward too. Brie Larson is a great pick for Danvers, and Jude Law as a villain is just perfect!

Great movie, great story, great acting, bit more Korath would've been great, your MCU's "buddy" cop movie! 8/10.

Sell me this pen!
12 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) is one hell of a film! Leonardo DiCaprio is amazing, no question he's one of the all time greats. The story is amazing, and the characters are great. The more you watch, the more you understand. A biopic that can really carry out as a comedy is very uncommon, and this does it justice. The story, not only creates comedic skills, but when it gets deep, it really goes deep. This is the story about a man who made millions, but lost in his final stretch, and DiCaprio's narration makes it less complex than you think it is.

DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Jonah Hill, Jon Bernthal, Matthew McConaughey, and more sell this film, but DiCaprio steals the show. His accomplices are just great, Jordan Belfort is the modern Robin Hood, and it's told brilliantly. When there is tension in this movie, there is tension. The FBI make it more intriguing when Belfort starts falling, the comedy becomes a drama, and it's still so enjoyable.

Eventually, love is lost, when Margot Robbie leaves him, he breaks. This is a real rise to fall storyline, and it's perfect.

"Sell me this pen." Truly masterpiece! You can be rich, but can you be rich for long?

Masterpiece! 10/10.

Logan (2017)
10/10
Emotional, intense, and beautifully written! Hugh Jackman hangs up his claws one more time with the best ending possible.
10 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Logan (2017) is a gripping, emotional, and superb ending to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine trilogy. His story concludes so surprisingly, and hangs up his claws the way he should. The relationship between him and the elderly, weakening Professor X played by the great Sir Patrick Stewart is heart-warming, fantastic and emotional for the X-Men fans who have watched the franchise since the first film.

The story is set in the future, and the year is 2029, and the whole of the X-Men, except the two leads have been wiped out. The two remaining core members of the X-Men are just about holding on, and Logan's mutation is weakening. The story revolves around a father-daughter connection, having Logan to escort the young mutant "X-23", also known as Laura, to a place called Eden, and throughout the journey, Logan is slowly wearing; he is dying! And yes, Spoiler Alert; he and the Professor don't make it.

Dir. James Mangold has exceeded beyond the X-Men baseline, and has really delivered a satisfying conclusion to Wolverine's saga. Hugh Jackman IS Wolverine, and Patrick Stewart IS the father figure Logan also wanted. He IS Professor X (James McAvoy also did a great job). I would've love to of seen a final farewell with Logan and Erik Lensherr/Magneto, but what Mangold has done is pure perfection, and if you have followed the X-Men franchise, then this is a real tearjerker for you all.

Logan (2017) is a memorable movie! 10/10, you won't be disappointed!

Prisoners (2013)
10/10
Gripping, intense, and very well acted!
10 February 2021
Prisoners (2013) is a very gripping, panicking look on how far you could go to protect your kids. It's intense, and pressurising to watch how a father can go from loving to relentlessly lethal. Hugh Jackman goes far beyond the call of duty and far away from Wolverine as much as he possibly can, and he does it justice. Keller Dover is a man going through every parent's worse nightmare, and he overall succeeds in just that.

On the other hand, Jake Gyllenhaal plays Detective Loki, once again, a great actor playing a great role. Dover and Loki are two completely different characters played by two great actors; Mysterio and Wolverine are both stunning altogether. Loki and Dover are both under pressure, and how Denis Villeneuve creates this immense thriller, is glorious. Other actors including; Melissa Leo, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Paul Dano and Maria Bello are all top-notch. If you love a good thriller, then Prisoners is a must-watch on Netflix UK.

The chase is on, and Jackman is not letting this chase go! Will Gyllenhaal agree or disagree with Jackman's actions? Or will Jackman lose the person he loves for good?

10/10.

Inside Man (2006)
8/10
Great thriller!
9 February 2021
Inside Man (2006) was enjoyable! Denzel Washington is one of my favourite actors of all time, and, once again, he delivers! The story is a great one, Washington as the Detective, and Clive Owen as the Thief. Both really great actors who are against each other's throats, and the game of cat and mouse created by Owen is phenomenal. Owen steals the genre, and the bank heist is one of the most fantastic types of scenery ever shown since the great film Heat (1995).

Jodie Foster, Willem Dafoe, and Christopher Plummer are also great in this film. But the film concentrates on the solid performance of Washington and Owen. If there is a film that involves Washington, then you know it's got a good story, and a really deep-diving character driven picture. It's a film that really sinks the audiences' teeth in, and every moment is really jaw-dropping and intense. And, who knows whose winning in this game of cat and mouse?

Another brilliantly told thriller featuring one of the film's biggest leads to date, Inside Man (2006) is a treat for all Washington fans. Gives this film a shot, you won't be disappointed if crime thriller's and crime-solving is your thing.

8/10.
