Love is Love
24 February 2006
This was the most incredible movie I have ever seen. The depth of this movie in all aspects (acting, directing, music, filming) let the story unfold flawlessly. Because I didn't see a gay love story, but a love story between to individuals. It touch me directly and deeply. I had the most profound relationship while in the Marine Corps. I was gay and this may sound strange, but he was not. He said he fell in love with ME. We had plans after we came back from Vietnam to start a life together in Los Angeles (he was from a small town in Texas and as in the movie we were concerned about how people would except our relationship). Sadly he was killed in Vietnam two weeks before being transferred back to the States. I believe in all my heart that we would still be together. I never had a such a strong love again. This movie hit me hard -- I've seen it 6 times. I was very pleased by the response from audience. I read the story when it came out in the New Yorker....and found it in an old file with pictures of my friend.
