I write very few reviews, but this show inspired me. It's hard to follow sometimes because of the nature of the show's parallel universes, but holy god what a novel concept to dream up for a tv show. Maybe this was in sci-fi literature before that I was unaware of, but the whole concept I find ground-breaking and the way they have tackled the narrative as a spy novela is so well done. I haven't seen sci-fi draw me in like this since The Matrix. The concept of this show is as ground-breaking as that was and I also love that in season 2 they answer a lot of the questions you might have expected them to just pass the buck on. And not only did they answer those questions, they did an amazing job of answering them unlike a show like Lost that started out strong and boxed themselves into an explanation that elicited groans. Counterpart filled in those blanks so strongly that the show is actually more interesting than before they did the reveal.
For new watchers, the narrative builds slowly in season 1. Stick with it. It's like a gradual and slow ramp up to a fever pitch.
