Monkey Man (2024)
A stupid 2 hour movie with a 10 minute cool fighting scene
This entire movie could have been summed up in 5 minutes. It was long, drawn out with no good story line. The best thing this movie offered was a 10 minute cool fighting scene, that dare I say had some similar John wick vibe. However I feel I am insulting John wick for even comparing the two. There was also a lot of confusion with how the story was put together - too many quick frames. Sick of the same comeback story these action movies come up with. This one just missed the mark and was even weirder. Put this on while you're working your remote job if you want to say you watched it but don't waste 2 hours sitting in front of your tv to watch it.
Immaculate (2024)
Kept you going throughout but had missed ending
The movie picked up quick with you wondering what's going to happen next, what's going on. But then it felt like we hit the climax way too late in the film so the ending felt rushed with not enough fighting back. I also am only giving this a 5 because of the ending. We should have been able to see what the result looked like instead of just noises (you'll know what I mean when you watch it). Huge disappointment to not actually see it and then just cut to a short ending where you feel you didn't get enough. Also sort of unbelievable action and death scenes. I think there should have been another character involved to help.
Painkiller (2023)
Smiley from Orange is the new Black rocks this series
Smiley, aka Uzo Aduba absolutely rocks this series! She's the perfect actress for this role and makes you grip on to your seat with the story. The in between skit from a personal but fake story was a bit too cheesy at times but does shed light on how this drug truly impacted 'normal' people's lives and to show how it wasn't targeted towards 'addicts'. Brings a very scary reality on the lives we live and how money and our government can control everything. What we think is safe, is really just a government official paid to market it as a safe product. Very captivating and good layout of how the OxyContin epidemic rolled out.
Perry Mason: Chapter Nine (2023)
I fell asleep
I put this episode on twice, and both times I fell asleep. It's beyond boring with no actual content the entire episode. Just a big sorta bang at the end. The entire episode was a waste of my time and I regret putting on this second season. It's too old school and too slow for my liking. I wouldn't recommend to anyone looking to watch a show right now on their television. It's honestly one of the worst episodes I have seen in a very very long time. Literally one of the absolute worst things. I would rather watch paint dry then try watching this episode over again so I will not continue watching this show.
Kaleidoscope (2023)
I'd rather watch paint dry then watch this again - Another waste of time on a Netflix original *shocker*
This could have just been a one hour and a half movie and still would get a 1/10 from me.
Summary:
-bad acting
-bad music
-bad script
-bad storyline
-horrible ending
Maybe I'm already tainted as I don't like the main actor, but man was this disappointing beyond belief.
I watched it in the random order Netflix gave me so at times I was confused with what had and hadn't happened yet. So I do recommend if you're going to waste your time watching this, do it in the proper order. With that being said they did put each episode together so that you can watch them in any order fairly well all things considered.
The plot was really dragged out into each character and how they got there but it really wasn't needed. You just don't care about their stories.
Then you get to the last episode like what happened during the heist. And it's just a total let down on the twist. I think when you watch a heist movie you don't want this to be the ending. You leave feeling unsatisfied after what happened but oh he learned a lesson at least.
Would highly recommend watching paint dry instead.
Nope (2022)
What a unique, and terrible movie
Very very slow and chaotic for most of the movie. You never really know what's happening, but you go along with it. Then hours later you say to yourself - what the heck did I just watch? I wasted my time watching this. Sure it's never really been done before and it's unique, but I think I could live without ever watching this terrible movie.
The story line is very far fetch, but does keep you going as a part of the thriller type movie. But you get dragged along for what feels like an eternity for an end result that does not feel satisfying and leaves you again thinking what the heck did I just watch.
The Northman (2022)
If you like Viking stuff watch last kingdom - not this
Worst movie I've seen in a long time. If you're into artsy fartsy stuff sure. But even then garbage. Don't waste your TIME! Honestly so bored for 2 hours and the story line sucked.
Bienvenidos a Edén (2022)
Better than what most people are saying - give it a shot
Some times the scripts or actors in foreign shows aren't the best, but if you can't get past that it's a decent story and drama filled show. At times I skipped over the unnecessary talk parts, which sped up the binge watching. But honestly I was really into the concept and by the end wanted to know more! Really hoping for a new season to get some explanations.
Give it a chance if you're into these sort of end of the world shows like the 100 or movies like the hunger games.
Moon Knight (2022)
Bad CGI, script & acting - had potential
After the first episode I was like this is new, this is interesting, let's keep watching. You get into the vibe of the main character. Then you get into the next few episodes and it's like where the heck is this story going. It's just so bad. It's like a really bad movie with the script, acting and the CGI.. don't get me started. It's a shame because it was promising, but it's been such a huge let down.
The Bubble (2022)
10% comedy 90% bad script and acting
There was some pretty funny parts where you thought to yourself that's clever, maybe this movie will turn around. It doesn't. It carry's on for 2 hours. And it's awful. The script and the acting are horrendous. Here to say I watched it and not worth your time.
Yellowjackets (2021)
Slow, captivating story - could be better, but decent cast
At the end of each episode, you can reflect knowing that you've gained another 2% of knowledge on what's actually going on. So it can be VERY frustrating has the story hops from past to present with mostly useless drama. However, if you're binge watching it then it's not bad. Like if you have nothing better to do, the characters/actors will keep you going.. and it's captivating enough where you want to know what's happening so you stick with it.
Clickbait (2021)
Set up for success until the final episode
Definitely watchable, but just a shame in the final episode where the ending just wasn't satisfying and doesn't really make sense. The person responsible couldn't have done what they claimed they did online, there's no way. Feeling very unsatisfied after hours of excitement and binge watching all the episodes before finale.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins (2021)
Watchable while you workout or as a distraction
If you're distracted doing something, then sure put this on in the background. But the story line from start to finish is absolutely garbage. Then they try to throw these one liners and cool shots in that just fail so hard. I gave it a 2 because it wasn't bad watching while I worked out not really invested.
Shershaah (2021)
Don't watch it
Not worth it. Too many subtitles, not enough going on.
F9 (2021)
Unrealistic action movie and bad acting
It's beyond me how they've made it to the 9th version of f&f. But boy have they gone down hill. Between Charlize's haircut and the car spaceship, I no longer want to watch movies. Maybe it's time I find a different hobby, like cleaning my house. That's more entertaining.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Worst movie I've seen in months
Not worth it. Not a good plot, no good characters and waste of time.
Cruella (2021)
It was ok - not worth the hype
Way too long of a movie for what it was. A lot of inspiration taken from devil wears Prada. A lot of fashion focus with little digital play. The dogs looked very fake and the overall back and fourth between main characters is annoying. Waiting for a good movie this year!
Army of the Dead (2021)
I've seen a lot of bad movies this past year, but this may be the worst
What a stupid story line and waste of 2 hours of my time.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Weird plot that doesn't really go anywhere
There's a few different points of view to one plot in this movie, but ultimately there isn't enough material in any of it. Not to mention the bad guys are weak and are just sort of there in the story. Some of the fire scenes also seemed very unrealistic if trying to shed light on Forrest fires, I could be wrong, but I don't think they spread that quickly. Then by the end of the movie it felt like a heart warming story about this kid, and I was just kinda left like - what did I just watch? If you've got nothing else, and you're stuck inside during quarantine like the rest of us, sure watch it. But don't expect to be amazed, and feel free to fold the laundry/keep busy while watching.
Queen of the South (2016)
Started out sorta slow, but now I'm hooked in the later seasons
When you first watch the show you kinda get frustrated with her progress in becoming "a queen". You watch her suffer and ultimately be at the bottom. But I have to say once she becomes the queen the show just gets so much better. As a female, it feels really good to watch these strong female roles just kick a**. Theresa is an amazing character and just gets more tough each episode now. It's different than your average main strong character, she has less examples of weakness, which is fantastic to see. I hope this show continues for more seasons, but also see that unless Theresa dies (ruins the show) there's not many other places they can take it. Half the story was her getting to where she is. Anyways - worth the binge watch!
The Vanished (2020)
Bad movie that keeps you going but isn't worth it
You will see lots of mixed reviews here and likely think like I did, it's worth a shot. Let me tell you here - it's not. The "twist" at the end that people claim to be worth it, just isn't that great of a twist. In fact I sort of predicted it from the beginning. It's just a weird, poorly written, thriller that like I said keeps you going but just isn't worth continuing. Like others suggest there's many holes and bad acting as well. I wouldn't waste your time with this one, despite there being a lack of movies to watch these days.
Sneaky Pete (2015)
Clever crimes mixed with quirky family humour
To be honest, I wasn't convinced after the first season. I wasn't a fan of some of the family characters and overall just didn't like where the show was headed. But, I kept going and it was worth it. What was showcased so beautifully was Pete's transition into a 'good' person. Using what he learned to help out a family he grew to love. I also really enjoyed the family quirkiness they involved at the end. Getting them involved made me laugh and enjoy the characters with more respect. The ending of the final season was on a good note, as I am not sure how much further they could have went with this story. But, I can't help but hope for this show to return one day.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Juno meets Signs meets Too Gun
Sound good on their own, but not together. 90% cockpit, 10% defying the laws of physics.
Animal Kingdom (2016)
Binge worthy with lots of action and drama
Easy to binge as each episode leaves you on a cliff hanger and gets you hooked into a story. It's almost like a life we all have wanted to live or considered at one point would be easier than the 9-5. But this show does a great job at displaying why a life of crime can't last.
One con: could do without the awkward/confusing grandma son relationship that turns sorta sexual at times but never fully crossing the line. I understand the fascination of the crime grandma or mom, but didn't need to get this weird.
Impractical Jokers: The Movie (2020)
Bad skits and average pranks
As the title says. Really bad acting in their skits and just average pranks. Think an average impractical jokers episode with lame skits in between. Not worth watching at the movies, about an average movie to watch from home now a days.
