Excellent movie
12 May 2019
Kudos to the director and the cast for doing this movie. I am hoping this will set the stage for future LGBT movies in Indian cinema. An important message well conveyed in a light hearted manner with a good mix of emotions and comedy. I am glad they made this about love and kept it classy. They introduced a sense of normalcy to this very taboo topic in India. Hopefully the hearts and minds of people will change after watching this very important movie. Juhi Chawla was a delight to watch and she added the much needed lightness and humor to a very heavy subject.

Excellent and engaging

Great movie. Excellent performances from the lead actors and is very realistic and thought provoking. Some of the subtle ways in which racism permeates society are shown very precisely. It would really open your eyes on American history as it relates to race. It has some good comedy and good drama. Very well balanced movie. I absolutely enjoyed it.

Awful, vulgar, disturbing, and gross
17 March 2019
The move is downright crass, gross, and cringe worthy. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I am offended by the crass and vulgar depiction of lust induced same sex scenes which are done very distastefully. Why make it so gross? The scenes involving the shooting of the birds was very unnecessary and violent. No story, no plot twists, zero character development. No one is worth rooting for. Very boring and hard to watch. If you just had a good meal or about to have a good meal, skip this movie. You will lose your appetite watching some of the overly vulgar and gross scenes. Seems like to be nominated for oscar, you have to make the movie extremely bizzare and disturbing. That's how I feel after watching this fiasco. I now need a drink to unsee this movie.

Awful!
4 October 2018
Some of the directors' past movies were very good. This one was just bad. No logic, no clear explanation of the animosity between siblings, and the movie leaves one confused. None of the characters are likeable. You end up rooting for no one. The so called twist in the climax is very cliched.

Don't believe the hype and all the positive reviews. Agni natchatiram was way better than this movie. In fact I would have rather watched that movie again.

Just awful.. Stay away!
16 April 2018
All the positive reviews must be spam. Trust me. This movie is just awful! Bad acting by everyone and the lead actor is just awful. 10 minutes into the movie, I realized it was bad and it kept getting worse. I was laughing through the whole movie but it wasn't a comedy.

The lead actor is not easy on the eye with zero personality and it's hard to believe multiple gay men are falling for him. Everyone in this movie should take at least a year worth of acting lessons and I am sure the director was drunk or high. Stay away unless you are in the mood to watch something truly abominable.

Overrated and awful!
28 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The film is overly dramatic, gross at times, and awful! The movie sends a message that living with HIV is equivalent to death sentence. HIV is a manageable chronic disease and it is not the end of the world.

The director does not have his facts straight about HIV. HIV does not progress to AIDS (which is now called stage 3 instead of AIDS) for 5-10 years after the person is first infected. So, how come the lead character experiences weight loss and AIDS related symptoms in such a short span of time? Also modern day HIV medications do not cause hair loss as a side effect and hair loss is generally not a symptom of HIV. The weight loss accompanied with it would have made sense 15 years ago when HIV medications were not technically advanced. It is highly misleading to portray HIV as a "death sentence" while the reality is far from it. This movie will scare any sexually active person into thinking that HIV could kill them.
