Dinos, Adam Driver, and Sam Raimi, what's not to like
When everything is a sequel it's nice to just watch a good movie that's not. It's a sci-fi movie with jumps included. If you're a sci-fi fan and you like dinos you'll like it. If you over analyze movies and love to hate them, go watch something else. Both main actors do a great job and there's some interesting elements they add in that help the acting quite a bit. The pacing is good. The tone is consistent. There's good emotion that you can feel throughout the movie and plenty of tension. Sure there are a few "conveniences" that move the story along but honestly they don't detract from the main story line in my opinion.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Stop Worrying About the Man Behind the Curtain
You have already decided before you go to this movie whether or not you like it. There's so much focus on Star Wars politics, who's directing it, who owns Lucas films, and all that junk that people are going into this trying to see the politics through the story. This is not the adventures of Kathleen Kennedy and her battles against Sith Johnson with the help of Jedi Abrams. If you go into this movie thinking it's some kind of apology for TLJ or that it's going to "ruin" RotJ and it's all because George Lucas abandoned us and Kennedy sold out to the Disney corporate devils, then you will get what you are looking for.
This is a good story. Every negative review I have seen is about either some political nonsense or a detail in the film that actually makes sense if you were paying attention or if you know anything about the Star Wars extended universe. If you pay attention you will see the details and the easter eggs that make it good. You will see the great acting, the stunning visuals, and the emotional moments as a continuation and conclusion of a story that all of us have loved since it's inception.
So leave the politics on the angry internet and just go enjoy the story. Certainly it's not perfect but perfect is not a standard that can be met. It successfully accomplishes the very difficult task of concluding three trilogies and a large extended universe full of characters and details. Of course you'll find something you hate if you're looking for it. If you're looking for a great movie, you'll find that too.

The antidote to sequels and super heroes
Refreshingly original and entertaining. The story flows and the characters are relatable and well developed. Not what I expected from the trailer but I liked it better than what I expected. So nice to see someone take a chance on an original story.
