What a wonderful movie
30 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Stumbled in this movie by chance and it's absolutely fantastic. A not so common sight of London is offered to us all while the two main characters just get their last chance to be happy. They are not young anymore, but they embrace the necessary jump of faith in order to get what fate has "set" for them both. The writing and the playing is amazing, but you can't expect anything less since you have Thompson and Hoffman as Kate and Harvey. Sitting on the bench in a wonderful dawn, (the colours are simply amazing) you read on their faces both the insecurities and the hazard of a new start. It's a gem, really you'd like to watch movies like this any day.

And they'll live happily dead ever after
19 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Watched as a kid the movie on TV in the early '80ies for the first time, and really it was love at first sight. What a wonderful picture is this as a funny distraction, it sets the soul to laughs and helps to spend about 100 minutes with an high spirit. You can have a glimpse on how different was the life in the late '70ies, while you are watching one of the best comedies ever. Forced to leave his home country, Dracula lands in New York , and he's the bat out of water: after he has got the blood of a drinker, drunk himself, the poor Count acknowledges that he's finished, OVER, that he can' t scare anyone anymore, that he has been lonely for so many years, that he'd liked to have a "normal" life after all. Dracula is the "good" this time, he's a sensitive heart, he loves Cindy, a model whose life is a complete chaos, and he's willing to do anything to have her. And he will have her, or even better, she will willingly become a vampire, because she finally has found what she wanted. George Hamilton, with that great characterized accent, and Susan Saint James are perfect for their roles, and they play in a very convincing way both comedy and romance in a kind of roles reversal mode. Richard Benjamin and Arte Johnson gave their best as supporting characters. It's great finally this film came out on DVD.

Unconventional and super funny
27 July 2006
This series it's "something different". Sometimes European series are less accurate than the USA ones, but this time authors have hit the right target creating a mix that works in a smoothly way. Edel & Starck is great, it has all: great plot, smart, witty, always well delivered lines, an amazing theatrical timing showed by all the stars and beautiful shots of Berlin, one of the most interesting city in the world. It's entertaining to see how things works in the justice field in other countries than the USA and for once "feel" the old Europe way of dealing with life. Kudos to all the cast and crew for a well done comedy that is going to be a must to see in the years to come.Watching the series in German is super.
