Bridgerton (2020)
Nonsense
Utter and absolute nonsense. There is no black royalty in the UK during the 18/19/20 century. STOP distorting history. Animals. Terrible show. Awful writing. Shocking allowance from the studio.
The Strain: Tainted Love (2017)
It goes downhill
This season is where the Strain goes downhill. It's clear that it needs to be wrapped up in one season rather than 3/4 and as such there is lazy writing and lazy production.
For example, in this episode eichorst moves at an incredible speed to disarm thre men, yet the previous episode he couldn't move away from a petrol bomb. It's all become a bit nonsense - good watching but nonsense none the less.
I really wish that fox had actually invested in this til the end. Cest la vie.
Life in Film (2021)
Behind the lens, behind the scenes.
If you ever ever wondered what goes on behind the cameras or the curtain, like me you'll be entertained by this series of podcasts.
The anecdotes from real life events on sets and stage will have you crying with laughter.
The host's ability to dive straight into the detail and tease out the best of the interviewees is brilliant, like hearing two best friends casually reminisce over life stories.
It's wonderful to hear that whilst big name actors command audiences all over the world, they're also people with families and friends who have real life mishaps and mistakes and can laugh it off.
Well worth listening and subscribing to.
The Stinky & Dirty Show (2015)
Rubbish and poison
No idea how this has won awards. It's the usual American trash. No substance. No education. Just poison. Avoid.
Amazon really cannot make anything worthwhile.
Lady and the Tramp (2019)
Absolutely appalling
This film is appalling. Yet another remake of a classic animated film, in real life aspect with way too much cgi, a lack of thoughtful script, shocking cast, extremely confusing storyline and location and overall a really tired way for a film studio to grab more money without any creative thoughts.
This is not suitable for children, unless those children were born in the 1930s. It's not suitable for anyone unless you are trailer trash and enjoy watching wake bake and fake it.
Bad Boys for Life (2020)
Ruined a franchise
I really can't be bothered to go into details because this film hasn't even earnt that pleasure. This film has single handedly ruined the previous films with its lazy script, lazy acting and weak plot line.
World War Z (2013)
Too fast too much
This film had all the hype of the second Star Wars instalments and all the secrecy of what 'Lost' really was.
Disappointingly it didn't live up to the hype and secrecy once we drilled into it. I mean yes, it was a good action film with some incredibly scary parts but overall it failed to deliver on the basis of stupidity. The basis of a lack of common sense, human ingenuity and a proper storyline. The script seemed rushed and the acting was reasonable but not for a film of this height. This deserved more and the filmmakers know it, as they haven't followed up with a sequel despite this quite clearly being a cash cow.
I've given it a 9 on the basis that it's enjoyable but don't expect much more.
The Queen's Corgi (2019)
Rancid
I can't believe I was forced to give this films one star, I can't believe it's seen the light if day, it is god awful and absolutely unacceptable for children.
Berlin Station (2016)
A super spook show
A great show from start to finish. Whilst it starts off in somewhat calm water, by the end it is very much deep in a full blown sea gale.
The show revolves around a fictional CIA spy station in Berlin. The station and various others around Europe have been hit by 'snowden' style classified leaks.
The main character, Daniel Miller, has been tasked by a top agency official to find and stop the agency mole. We learn in the first few episodes his background and ability as well as introducing the other main people.
The show has a feel of 24 and Spooks merged. It's a clock ticking exercise against terrorism and in house rivalries which eventually ally themselves for the greater good.
The plot is believable, the acting terrific from some well and other less so actors, and the filming locations are amazing. Who knew Berlin was that beautiful.
Do yourself a solid one and watch this show in one or two goes, i did and i was riveted to find out what next.
Fingers crossed for a sequel. This show is too good to not get commissioned for a second season, and equally is too good to fly under the radar on 'Epix' - it needs a more mainstream release.
