Stupid but not that bad

It's completely ridiculous and utterly terrible, but it's in the way that makes it kinda funny. Absolutely not a masterpiece, but I do recommend it as a silly show to put on in the background.

So bad it's good

Its's cheesy, predictable and cliché, but isn't that what you want from a christmas romcom? The acting and production is pretty decent, and if you are looking for a stupid, festive and sweet film, this is definitely the film to watch.

Horrible Histories (2009–2024)

Could not recommend it more

The first few seasons are honestly some of the best TV CBBC has ever shown. After season 5, the show goes rather rapidly down hill, but until then it is television gold. Educational yet funny. This show has the truly unique ability to actually get young children interested in history, and honestly older kids too! Some of the jokes are cheap and ever so immature, but many of them are witty and intelligent, and the songs are all brilliant. From Charles II to the 4 georges, each song is so catchy and unique, and also filled with information and fun facts which stick with you far longer than most things learnt in a classroom. It truly is a creative and educational masterpiece. Also I owe my entire Public Health section of my GCSE to this show.

A classic

It truly is incredible to think a film so good was made so long ago. Incredibly clever scenes were created with such limited special effects available, and the camera quality is watchable. The politics have not stood the test of time. From the border line kidnapping of women that attracts them to the men, to the lack of any pocs that aren't maids, there are serious 'room for improvements'. Although this does not really excuse the behaviour, I do think it's important to remember the period this was made in and not criticize the entire film for that. The songs may be the best bit, but after you watch it they will not leave your conscious mind for at least a month - you have been warned. With such and array of happy and sad songs, it may have one of the best musical numbers of that decade. All in all, it's a great film that everyone should watch at least once in their life.

The perfect bedtime stories

10 years since I reached the age where I stopped watching this show, and hardly a week goes by when either myself or one of my friends doesn't reference it. Each short story is animated in a wonderfully story-book style, and the whole concept is generally very sweet. Obviously I cannot recommend this to the adults who may read this review, however I genuinely believe it is a brilliant show for its intended audience. The simple plot lines make it easy to follow, and the new animals make it rather educational for very young children.

As witty as the bard himself

I stumbled across this gem the other day on netflix and I am so glad I did! It's absolutely wonderful, even though I'm pretty sure many of the jokes require a little more knowledge about Shakespeare and his work than I have. The combination of o so clever historical references and relatable digs at the UK public transport system make it enjoyable for anyone. It may not be revolutionary, and the plot is far from complex, but it sure is funny.

Russell Howard: Recalibrate (2017 TV Special)

Funny, cringey and oh so very British

Russel Howard does it again! Great jokes, amazing presentation and so relatable. He repeats a couple of his old jokes, which you probably won't notice if you're not a huge fan, and if you are then you know his fresh material is totally worth it.

Honestly amazing

This was one of my favourite shows growing up! I mean now I can realise the cliches, the dodgy acting and the way they dont develop any characters, or even mention their non spy lives (except for one) and the pathetic story lines, but when I was s member of their target audience I absolutely loved it.
